@aegidius360 He is great to watch for tutorials but also check out AquaThane 's channel. He has some awesome tutorials as well. I have learned every move I know from watching the two of them on here.
nick can you perform with all the basics...with music..coz its been a month now since i learned some basics..but i dont know to perform it nicely...thank you...and where can i get poi musics...thank you alot....its such a big help...
I've been trying to perfect the waterfall for months but i always get caught up on the silly transition from forwards to backwards weave. I keep trying to pause and replay the spot where you mention the neutral position but I can't quite catch on. I can transition but it looks terrible rather then smooth and continuous. Any advice? ;) Thanks!
When you go slowly and you explain how to link the three moves, you make a complete 3B weave (forward) but then when you go faster, it seems that you are skipping this weave and only your left poi goes to your right side.
My sisters cat decided to climb my back today when I was spinning my poi around luckily I had my shirt on or it would have hurt more but still it didn't tickle.
This video helped me grasp the backwards weave : ) I experimented with this move starting from the 3beat forwards weave then moving to the windmill and the next natural move was backwards weave! Amazing how different people learn moves in such different ways!! Another great video Nick!!
Whoops. I just hit "remove" to a great comment when I meant to hit "reply!"
Sorry about that. Somebody asked if I'd make a video that goes through all the lessons, like a routine or something. It's a great idea, but it will take some thinking and time, and I usually don't have a lot of time. :)
Nick, what do you consider to be the difference between fountains and flower patterns? Both are compound circles because both have moving centers of rotation.
DK, I may be totally off base here, but I'd say the major difference between fountains and flowers is that in flowers (when the arms are same direction) the hands remain 180 degrees apart while in fountains the hands remain together-ish. I'm also not sure that fountains can be done in the wall plane. Whee!
In a fountain the arms and hands aren't moving through true circles, so I don't think they are compound circles. It is possible to really extend your arms in a fountain... but even then the hands and arms probably aren't tracing true circles, because they still have to jump planes so much.

Hey!
Great videos but I have a comment to make.
When you go slowly and you explain how to link the three moves, you make a complete 3B weave (forward) but then when you go faster, it seems that you are skipping this weave and only your left poi goes to your right side.
Is it correct?

Cats love poi. My roomies cat is obsessed with mine when I'm spinning! Her head bobs up and down as she watches them.
