  • @aegidius360 He is great to watch for tutorials but also check out AquaThane 's channel. He has some awesome tutorials as well. I have learned every move I know from watching the two of them on here.

  • Yes, they are water flowlights in the crystal cases.

  • Are those the water flowlights? Thanks.

  • He started telling me all the things I already know and I realized I should watch some more videos before doing this one so he's not lying to me.

  • Anyone else have trouble with a reverse 3-beat weave or is it just me?

  • put knives on th end and chop up stuff

  • ahh pussy cat in the corner:)

  • @SuperUkuleleguy They are called flowtoys

  • nick can you perform with all the basics...with music..coz its been a month now since i learned some basics..but i dont know to perform it nicely...thank you...and where can i get poi musics...thank you alot....its such a big help...

  • give thumbs up if u were focused on him until the kitty walked in.

  • i was so focused then i saw a kitty cat nd flipped out! :D

  • trying a 5 beat forward weave to backwards weave to windmill and back to 5 beat forward weave is treacherous!

    :D

could you post a 5 beat backwards weave lesson?

  • whats the song called? *__*

  • Nick please explain this neutral position more thoroughly for us out here who are less talented!

  • why would anyone dislike any of nick's videos?

  • I've been trying to perfect the waterfall for months but i always get caught up on the silly transition from forwards to backwards weave. I keep trying to pause and replay the spot where you mention the neutral position but I can't quite catch on. I can transition but it looks terrible rather then smooth and continuous. Any advice? ;) Thanks!

  • lol, the cat behind him

    hahaha

  • is there a significant diffrence between poi flowtoys and glowsticks?

  • Hey!

Great videos but I have a comment to make.

When you go slowly and you explain how to link the three moves, you make a complete 3B weave (forward) but then when you go faster, it seems that you are skipping this weave and only your left poi goes to your right side.

    Is it correct?

  • cat!

  • KITTY!!! :D (by second to the left farthest post at 1:05)

  • Than you for this video it helped a lot!!! I love how your cat is just chillen in the back ground :D

  • So smooth you make poi seem so simple good tutorial

  • im having trouble transitioning from the forward weave to the reverse weave, grrrr!!!

  • My favorite move/pattern by far

  • Very very good .

    Thanks for lessons.

    I'm from Russia.

  • My sisters cat decided to climb my back today when I was spinning my poi around luckily I had my shirt on or it would have hurt more but still it didn't tickle.

  • Cats love poi. My roomies cat is obsessed with mine when I'm spinning! Her head bobs up and down as she watches them.

  • @brennash413 yeah, my cat likes to sit in the middle of the living room and watch me spin

  • u r the best tutor

    thank u so much

  • Gotta say, Poi spinning is quite the workout. My arms a super tired and I started sweating!

  • Aww Kitty! hehe

  • This video helped me grasp the backwards weave : ) I experimented with this move starting from the 3beat forwards weave then moving to the windmill and the next natural move was backwards weave! Amazing how different people learn moves in such different ways!! Another great video Nick!!

  • thanks!! I love the beginning little tune ^.^

  • you're Tutorial is great as always! Thanks you.

  • looks like the cat wanted to watch lol

  • Whoops. I just hit "remove" to a great comment when I meant to hit "reply!"

Sorry about that. Somebody asked if I'd make a video that goes through all the lessons, like a routine or something. It's a great idea, but it will take some thinking and time, and I usually don't have a lot of time. :)

  • Hey Nick do you want come to the Monterrey Fire Festival in Mexico and Yuta too!!!!

  • <3 kitty.

thanks for post. i love your tutorials

  • The kitty just go to pick up his poi set and practice the lesson :3 thnks for the ideas Nick :)

  • NIck, have you a cat??

    Beautiful cat ;)

  • Kitty? Yeah, but how did he see the kitty move behind his head... only one explanation, Nick can see behind his head.

    That explains alot!

  • i see a kitty in the background... :)

  • Nick, what do you consider to be the difference between fountains and flower patterns? Both are compound circles because both have moving centers of rotation.

  • DK, I may be totally off base here, but I'd say the major difference between fountains and flowers is that in flowers (when the arms are same direction) the hands remain 180 degrees apart while in fountains the hands remain together-ish. I'm also not sure that fountains can be done in the wall plane. Whee!

p.s. Beautiful tutorial, as always, Nick :)

  • In a fountain the arms and hands aren't moving through true circles, so I don't think they are compound circles. It is possible to really extend your arms in a fountain... but even then the hands and arms probably aren't tracing true circles, because they still have to jump planes so much.
