This country was not founded on Christian faith. Look up what the founding fathers said and wrote in private Vs. their speeches in public. This country was not founded on Christian faith. Look up what the founding fathers said and wrote in private Vs. their speeches in public. Thomas Jefferson was a deitist, as were the majority of our founding fathers. Benjamin Franklin was even an admitted agnostic (he never needed to hide it since he didn't run for president and the like). People who have the intelligence and ambition to run a nation generally aren't that religious (privately. In public it's an entirely different story!)

I see it a bit differently, -after all, Obama's record of being only a community organizer and lack of political expereince was widely touted by the McCain/Palin ticket. The smartness factor was an observation of how Obama seemed to handle situations in the eyes of the general public and not due to what the media said.

I use to be a liberal but liberal radio turned me off. I find that liberals are more hypocritical. I don't always agree with either side on some issues, but I can tell you that Palin is not dumb. She didn't get to where she is today & a 60% approval rating by being dumb. She got it by standing strong to her views. When the fuck did you guys decide the constitution was on your side? Actually better question: When the fuck did you guys even start CARING about the constitution? I don't remember too much talk from the right about the constitution when Bush was ignoring it.
So I guess like the bible, the constitution is on your side because you say it is.

Our founding fathers knew that the constitution was flawed from the beginning. You can't look into the constitution with a positive law mindset. Conservatives are cool, but many of them are sheltered by religion.

Thank you for the links, I watched both of them. However, she does not accuse Obama of being a terrorist nor does she call him a Communist. She said he associates with someone the New York times called a domestic terrorist and she said he wants a government which interferes with the rights of ownership and that he favors more taxes.

I'm not religious, but strangely, I do not mind her mentioning God. She doesn't do it as often anymore, so that's good. It's a part of who she is.
I find that religious intolerance is the same thing as being racist.

Am Catholic and I can't remember the last time I attended church... So am not very religious myself. But it doesn't bother me in the least. That a person mentions God now and again. {Like Gov.Palin here} I do find religious intolerance similar to racism in some ways and it's also repulsive.

Well I just don't think you should mix religion with politics. I'm religious and I think it's completely wrong to mix the two. Of course I'm not saying that that will happen because it won't, but that's just my opinion. She's not religious obviously she's using it to get ahead in her political career which is fine because that's what most of them do, but that in itself is wrong.

It's a sign of insecurity adn immodesty on thier part. They have to have reassurance from others and also declare that they are literally 'holier than thou' . It's one of the reasons that they gain so much power in rural areas. The peer pressure to "join the Circle of 'God's Love' " is overwhelming to anyone who has any ties to others or weakness of self-confidence. Notice how she says "lift me up", God's Wisdom", etc. Like we would say'start the car'. she's jaded by the hypocracy of it

This was just a friggin setup to the little cute story about Piper's words!! She probably felt uncomfortable praying with the McCain handlers, so when she saw Piper, she grabbed her to pray and Piper uttered something funny. You need to hear the whole thing before you jump to conclusions. That clip wasn't even finished. Geez. Always needing to attack her for every friggin little thing.

The context is irrelevant and Sarah has a very clear track record of speaking for herself. I am sorry, we are speaking about a woman who ran for the Vice President and has aspirations to become the President of the United States. She needs to cut the cutesy stories that opens herself up to all this criticism and speak of substance. The mention of all this God gobbled y gook has no place in politics or government according to separation of church and state anyway.

If you tell the truth people should respect what you say even if you don't agree assuming you haven't done anything illegal or unethical.
