However, in my opinion, I think the game will be non-canon to the main story due to the fact that Kojima said that MGS4 was going to be the climax of the MGS canonical saga (including MG1 and MG2)

@ThelilKnight No its not weird, Metal Gear Solid 5 is not MGS Rising. Kojima isn't even helping on Rising, since its going multiplatform. I bet Rising is just a way to earn enough money to make Metal Gear Solid 5 an amazing game, just like Metal Gear Solid 4, a 10/10 game for the Playstation 3. And thats how it should be =)

This video is about Metal Gear Solid 5, which is about Big Boss, and yes, Hideo is working on it, it's his project, after all! But he's not behind Metal Gear Solid: Rising. It's gonna be made by Kojima Productions, but Kojima himself isn't working on it. The last game he worked on was Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and we all hope the next one will be Metal Gear Solid 5 for the PS3 =)

Metal Gear SOLID was made for Playstation, which they shared a remake with for Nintendo GameCube. The CEO of Nintendo and the creator of the MGS series are tight friends, which is why they regularly co-operate.

PO had a flat storyline imo, and they even said there's less story and cutscenes. And yes I saw the recent Rising trailer - it was "cut cut cut", sure there's still STEALTH, but it will be vastly different to what we're used to, hence "Lightening Bolt Action" rather than "Tactical Espionage Action". Sounds like there's going to be strong hack-n-slash elements.
