  • God! Let him speak!!

  • FRED KARGER!!! You go boy! I love you!

  • Hey dumbass... his group wasn't involved in the El Coyote thing. And when your "free speech" involves denying rights to a group of people, fuck them.

  • If you try to demonize people, I think it's safe to say that you HATE them

FRED KARGER & RON PAUL 2012!

  • FRED KARGER! <333333333333

  • WTF is this El Coyote bullshit?

  • what an asshole reporter, fred karger is my hero.

  • Jesus, this pseudo reporter is a real asshole.

  • They should change their name to idiots who support fascism.

  • you do realize that it was the regressive conservatives that put the idea on the ballot. By voting yes, prop 8 banned gay marriage. Do a little research or at least use common sense before making uneducated accusations like this one.

  • There is a reason that opponents to gay marriage have lost 30 out of 30. That is a huge number. Are 30 out of 30 states wrong? This gay man gets owned because he won't say what he actually believes. Most people who don't support gay marriage DON'T HATE gays. They just disagree and as we can see that is the majority of the U.S. (Can't wait to see how many thumbs down I get for expressing my opinion.)

  • That guy on left wont let the other guy talk. Gee.

  • Homosexuals not going to Utah or Mormon businesses? That is EXACTLY what many people want to begin with. Don't answer with anger. Talk to your neighbors, friends, and business owners about you and your rights. Don't escalate the resentment and the hatred.

  • Newpopmedia is right. The majority of Utahns don't want Homosexuals in Utah. Battling hate with hate just made Homo supporters look like horrible ignorant losers. All of those nasty protests outside of Mormon temples, harassing a bunch of senior citizens and respectful clean cut Mormons made them look like idiots and accomplished nothing. It was ridiculous.

  • People have the right to boycott all they want. This IS an attempt to economically ruin people. So what? People say that Prop 8 was passed and to get over it. Well, the people have spoken, the boycott has begun, and it's here to stay, so get over it.

  • How about it Stuart Varney and Fox News, why it is "hateful" just because some White Power groups want Blacks to go back to Africa? Why are you Stuart Varney throwing around the label "hateful" and trying to chill freedom of speech for those who thinks Blacks are ape-like?

  • Varney had almost every one of his facts wrong. The pro-gay person was way too weak. He needed to take the offensive and challenge Stuart Varney about his own marriage and ask him if he represents the sanctity of marriage more than a gay couple who has been together for decades. Also Stuart should have explained why he would characterize someone as "hateful" just because they think Jews are stinky and should be banned from working in banks.

  • Good for you Fred! This is the only way to get people to see what they are doing to others by their actions. It is hate - to take youre hard earned cash to take away people's rights! Go Fred! If we have to do this with our money to fight people who think we are sinners and perverts, than so be-it!

  • What a ridiculous interview. Californians Against Hate is merely promoting the Secretary of State's own public information on political donations. There's nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with individuals choosing not to patronize businesses whose managers or executives supported Prop 8. Missing from the discussion is the reverse boycott that also exists, rewarding those businesses who were No on 8. Finally, missing is the Yes on 8 threats against those same businesses.

  • This reporter didn't do much reporting!

  • We do not believe it just to mingle religious influence with civil government (Doctrine and Covenants 134:9) - LDS. Mormon hypocrits teach one thing and do another. What makes you think they respect secular laws any more than their own? LDS leaders never thought that 21,130 Americans would sign a petition including personal letters urging the IRS to consider revoking tax-exemption status anymore than they realized that they would be whining on news programs for gays to stop being mean to them.

  • I don't understand this video. Why is it unjust to deny economic support to business' if you disagree with them? I'm now forced to buy from Wal Mart even if I think they treat their employee's like crap? Our constitutional right allows us to choose which business' we choose to support economically. It isn't a chilling effect on free speech - its the exercise of free speech.

  • There should be a statewide referendum to prohibit Mormons from making burritos.

  • UHH...YOU THINK ITS RIGHT TO TAKE OUR RIGHTS AWAY??? Idiot...he tries to sound smart, but sounds like an idiot and a bigot.

  • What a joke of an "anchor man". Stop spewing out stupid questions and let the man answer one. BY THE WAY, the Religious Right AKA "(Im)Moral Majority" created the boycott. Christians started the movement of boycotts and no one has attacked them. We have a RIGHT to not give people who oppose equality our money. Thats not undermining free speech. If someone thinks I dont deserve life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, THEY ARE NOT GETTING A DIME FROM ME BITCHES! FUCK FOX & all the RepubliCUNTS.

  • I found it amusing how the reporter was trying to bring up freedom of speech, but was too full of himself to listen. The late Gordon B. Hinckley (Mormon President) stated "we cannot stand idle if they (homosexuals) indulge in immoral activity, if they try to uphold and defend and live in a so-called same-sex marriage situation." That being the case, homosexuals can't stand idle if they indulge in stripping us of our right to marry. Keep up the hard work Fred!

  • Boycotting businesses is not a new concept, although it is more common coming from religious associations. Look on the American Family Assocation website to see what businesses they are boycotting for the simple fact of providing same sex partner health benefits, etc.. Boycotting certainly works both ways, but everyone seems to look the other way when it done in the name of "God".

  • It would have been nice if the interviewer would have given Mr. Karger a chance to answer some of the questions instead of starting off from a defensive point of view. I was interested to hear what Mr. Karger had to say, but all I heard was the host badgering and interrupting him.

  • GREAT JOB Fred, you held your own with that Pompous English ASS, even when putting words in your mouth and cutting you off you kept your cool.. Thanks for all the hard work you are doing

  • And they called Mitt Romney a flip-flopper. One minute they're putting out names to hurt business and when he's put on the spot and shown as a type of tyrant to these small businesses he starts back peddling. Then when confronted about his use of the word hate he once again starts blubbering about well that's not what we mean by hate, we mean they don't like us or maybe they just don't have enough gay friends. He says it's ok for us to vote as long as we vote in his favor, otherwise we're wrong.

  • Not at all. In fact, he is exposing the hate initially expressed by others, like the LDS Church, which they expressed by supporting Prop 8 from out of state. Those groups and individuals being boycotted chose to express and exercise their hate long before they were exposed by the boycott. Now they are learning that their hate has consequences.

  • FYI, the LDS Church is worldwide and California has the 3rd or 4th most membership in the US, so I'm pretty sure they have the right to support and help the members and their causes presiding there. Those boycotted groups exercised the thing that makes this country so great, their freedom to support OR endorse an issue put to vote. Once again, you're all just mad because you didn't come out on top (no pun intended) and are attempting to hurt others who voiced their convictions.

  • You are entitled to your opinion, of course, as are the LDS and other churches. When they act on their convictions in such a way as to deny an entire class of people their civil rights, not only are they acting immorally IMHO, but also illegally (again IMHO). The courts will no doubt eventually decide the latter. The fact remains the LDS and other groups acted first and whether from their convictions or in hate, they are now facing the consequences of their actions.

  • The man in the video said they were going after the big businesses but was shown instances of his group going after small time businesses and individuals in an attempt to hurt them. If you preach about being hated and then do the exact same thing, you're no better than those who in your opinion hated against you. I don't think that this is the case as far as(specifically) the LDS church goes, hating your group, rather they supported their beliefs. There's a distinct difference between the two.

  • Actually, the LDS church does not have a right to support or endorse political or legislative initiatives as a tax-exempt organization. Thats why were petitioning the IRS to strip the bigots of that status. THATS what makes this country so great - that the Secretary of State publishes for public record who the bigots are. FACT - the Mormon church BROKE THE LAW and should PAY THE CONSEQUENCES!! GUILTY SHAME.

  • Petition all you want, but do you not think for one second that all of the legal advisors and lawyers for the LDS church didn't know that this would come up and had already addressed it before they endorsed YES on 8. Come on, they knew exactly what legal action would ensue after the vote and know that nothing will come of it. I'm pretty sure they're a lot smarter than that (actually I know).

  • They can't endorse candidates but they can preach what they believe is right and what their members can do about it. The actual church didn't give any money to the cause. The members did it of their own free will and choice.

  • Your facts are wrong. It's proven that the church gave HUGE amounts of money helping to misconstrue the image of gay marriage. If you support hate, all the power to you dude!!

  • Actually my facts are right. That is why the church hasn't been convicted of anything. Members and business' gave huge amounts of money. Not the non-profit organization. How can someone misconstrue the image of gay marriage if it doesn't exist? People like you don't understand why California voted the way it did. Do you really think that the majority of California hates gays? They did it to protect their rights and society, not because of hate. This has happened in over 30 states now.

  • Homosexuality is no different then heterosexuality. You know the feeling a straight man feels when a hot girl walks by? It's a feeling. You can't control it. It's NO DIFFERENT than "straight people" Homosexuals are not telling you what to do and how to live their life.

California is protecting their rights? No they are not. They are eliminating the rights of others! Trust me...gay marriage does not put "straight" marraige at any kind of risks.

  • You know the feeling a smoker has when he walks by a cigarette? They can't control it. It's a feeling. They want to smoke. Even the ones that want to quit. What's your point? Is smoking fine and healthy. They just hurt themselves right? Wrong! It hurts and annoys everyone around them that doesn't smoke.

Do you really think everyone voted the way they did to take away others rights? Especially in California, a blue blue democratic left wing state. C'mon. have a little common sense.

  • Watch the true life film "Prayers for Bobby" If you are happy being that hateful of a person, all the power to you!

  • You are the typical gay supporter. You don't have common sense nor can you respond to the concerns and facts of pro-traditional marriage advocates. You resort to your bumper sticker slogans. You have not responded to a single one of my questions or points that are backed up by fact. You just call me a hateful person and you don't even know me. So in the words of something you would say, If you are happy being ignorant, all the power to you!

  • Here's a slogan for your bumper and a history lesson since you're apparently not open minded nor educated. Women once did not have equal rights, they could not vote. The courts ruled it unconstitutional. Same goes with African American rights. Luckily as a gay man, courts will eventually rule on my side. It's a matter of time. I'm in the Win, you will loose. That's the way it's going to go. So enjoy it!!

  • We've won so far. I have enjoyed it! With over 30 states changing their constitutions to define marriage as being between a man and a woman I doubt it will change anytime soon. State courts can't rule their constitutions unconstitutional. If they are ever overturned in the United States Supreme Court then The United States Constitution would be amended just like in California. Not even liberal Obama agrees with you. If you can't even persuade him then I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

  • Do you really think everyone voted the way they did to take away others rights? You are the one without the open mind. Take a look at the bigger picture.

  • Gay marriage will prevail. It's that simple. Enjoy your ignorance as long as you can.

  • Keep wishing buddy!

  • No wish. It's almost reality. Watch and see!

  • How is it almost reality. Every step taken has been a step towards preserving traditional marriage and defining marriage between a man and a woman. I have been watching. What I see is that in every poll about 70 % of Americans agree with me. Sorry man.

  • Keep watching. Equal rights will prevail :)

  • You already have equal rights. You can marry someone of the opposite sex just like me!

  • mmm pussy. Sign me up! :)

  • ???

  • @cali19nr It's not a right it's a privilege.

  • boycotts or economic intimidation?

    who said McCarthy is dead?

  • Boycotts are an honorable and time tested method of communication in a free market and democratic society. I and anyone else have a right to spend our money where we choose. If someone's convictions led them to act in a manner that made them lose business and income, then no doubt the strength of their convictions will allow them them to get by on reduced income, or to find new customers. If they lack strength in their convictions they should not have voted as they did in the first place.
