every thing for deafblind is expensive in general.
I think i'd rather sign with a deaf blind if they are in front of me. There is also tons of more technology that is being created by who are deafblind and tech lovers. I was watching a video in my class (i'm an deaf interpreting major) when we were studying deafblind. One man had the most interesting digital system for using computers. He was even programming a computer! It was pretty cool.
@greensquareferret Do note when this was created. I wasn't sure how to add them at the time. I'm no longer on my Mac and haven't really done much with video editing in Linux.
thats interesting heard of such devices but my friend who is deaf blind we just sign to each other easier than essentially texting. Also more personal
@partylikepacman Unfortunately that requires that the person the Deaf/Blind person is talking to knows sign language (hard to come by) and many deafblind people who were blind first and became deaf later don't know sign language or don't know it well enough for the flow of conversation.
I agree I am fortunate that my friend who is deaf blind is verbal and knows sign well. Communicators are cool but from what I can tell people who are lately blind and early deafened. A lot easier to sign, even sending emails I can see that he can easily miss read.
@partylikepacman I would choose sign language over braille any day but most people don't know sign language. So it drastically increases the number of people we can talk to at a regular conversational speed. Instead of only being able to talk to anyone who can sign, we can talk to anyone who can type.
I am not impressed. You are extremely articulate, but you do not explain HOW THE HELL THE DEAF/BLIND PERSON USES THESE THINGS!! A diagram perhaps? Some more details for those of us who are not as estute with technology.
My cousin is Very Hard of hearing barley hear at all very small strong hearing aid helps a lot though and he is blind as well and he even with the hearing aid he has the hearing of a 100 year old man and he is 18 but were all thankful for the hearing he has and this is a cool informative video and Happy new years

I'd been wondering about this for quite a while, and a video blog type thing is a great way of informing people.
