  • So-called negative emotions are not evil. They're just another facet of the human experience. They're the strength we drawn on to get us through evil times. (True evil is accepting a philosophy of love and tolerance at the eventual cost of all you hold dear). Whether you do 'good' or 'evil', always do what's right.

  • I love this ep, the mirror universe story lines were all very good.

  • Lol. When he got smacked in the face, he was like "of crap, I knew this was coming. Why didn't I listen to my gut feeling?"

  • I'm not a tattoo person, but if I was I'd get one of the logo for the evil, alternate universe Federation that you see on the doors of the bridge - the planet earth with a dagger through it. Maybe I'll just put it on my business card.

  • Spock Looks Like Ming The Merciless

  • The answer, my friends, to this outrageous pricing is.... Bit torrent....

  • 0:01

  • loving chekov's little pedo smile there at the end

  • HEY YOUI! Watch my channel: Star Trek Rap (Hot Sexy New Music Video)

  • spock + goatee = EVIL SPOCK!

  • That was one scary "rape smile" at the end.

  • Haha....I did not know that assassinating your superior can move you up in rank like Chekov says. I wish I knew that in my old job because I would've gladly assassinated my x-boss for a promotion =)

  • rofl mirror chekov is simultaneously scary and sexy....until he bats his eyelashes at 1:03, at which point he reverts to his usual, cheek-pinchingly adorable self

  • Heh. I guess this is the only time we see a little bit of Alfred Bester from Babylon 5 peeking out through Walter Koenig's performance as Chekov. The guy can actually be scary.

  • CBS, so you advertise people to buy the season dvd set, but they are $60-90. Who will buy ONE season of TOS for that much? Now, if it were cheaper or the entire series in one set with bloopers and interviews for say $100 (which would be $30 or so for each season), I'd be more inclined to buy it.

Then, you take the entire series off of YT, which makes this even worse because you'll definitely have more pirating and copyright infringement happening because nobody will buy the series for so much.

  • @fang207984 I doubt there was a Defiant in this timeline. THere was no mention of it or Empress Hoshi in this episode. Plus the technology would have been far more advanced than it is here if the Defiant showed up in this timeline.

Its likely the MU in "Enterprise" was an alternate version of this timeline. This could serve as a MU in the JJ Abams timeline, since it looks like "Enterprise" is more likely the past of this movie, rather than the past of TOS through Voyager.

  • One of TOS's greatest episodes!

  • he is cute, but he is no clay aiken

  • My favorite episode.

  • Notice the blooper.. When Chekov is in the elevator, he has a black belt on his waist, then when the elevator doors open, it has changed to a gold one.

  • @torydz I think he just didnt have the belt on in the elevator. He had it on when he walked into it.

  • Chekov ! He's EXTREMELY HOT..!

  • hahaha Captain Kirk doesn't feel pain, just irritation and frustration.

  • Yup. Pretty much...

McCoy: "Wait a minute. What's that?"

    Kirk: "It's called...blood..."

    McCoy: (backs off)

  • Agreed, a series based in the mirror universe would be great.. the only question is what year should it be set in? Since the empire has fallen by the time TNG, VOY and DS9 takes place..maybe it should be set during the Enterprise series. I completely loved that episode, probably the best episode (That's not hard though).

  • @CynicalVision Look up a list of Star Trek fan films. Someone is developing a Star Trek mirror universe series. I know you take your chances with fan film quality, but some of these groups produce top-shelf work. I've seen some of these fan films and they are very good! I'm working on one myself.

  • Actually they could reveal that "Enterprise" is the past of JJ Abrams Trek movie, and that the MU with the fallen Terran Empire seen in DS9 is the future of the alternate Mirror Universe seen in "Enterprise". It is not the actual future of the MU seen in TOS.

Meanwhile it can be shown that in the REAL future of the TOS MU, Spock decided against overthrowing the Empire and that it is still in full power.

We have more than one TOS, Why cant we have more than one Mirror Universe timeline?

  • ...well keep it going man. Too long for a cell and too short for youtube. This isn't t.v. It's youtube.booooo 1 star.

  • You can see a production error in this clip. Focus on Chekov for the scene. When he goes to the Tubolift, he's got a command waist sash on. Inside the lift, he's got a cadet belt on (including agonizer) then when he walks out, he's got the command sash back on.

  • Never noticed that. ThanX for pointing it out!

  • LMBO! Good look!

  • i love chekovs face at 0.37

  • I think Kirk likes the idea of a captains' woman. Maybe he fantasizes Yeoman Rand doing that!

  • When Kirk returns home and meets the Marlena of his own universe, it's hilarious how the crew starts to gather along the upper deck to watch him go to work. :D

"She just seems a nice, likable girl. I think we could become...Friends. It's possible."

  • oooo Spock is so HOT with a goatee!

  • I wonder if there were evil Beatles and evil Monkees in this parallel universe. ; )

  • That would be cool.

But I read in a magazine that, until the point there the Vulcans visit earth, both universes share the same timeline.

  • "In a Mirror, Darkly" had Phlox had Phlox reading classically literature (pre Shaksphear) and he noted several differences.

  • Most likely classic literature was rewritten by Terran Empire officals to suit the Empire.

  • Why would they have to rewrite classic literature? Classic literature isn't all peace and love. There is plenty of heroes in Classic Literature to stimulate Empires and Would be conquerors (and it has).

  • @KISSPhace Could be. We know from Star Trek Enterprise that there only Shakespear was exactly the same in the mirror universe.

  • @KISSPhace

Yeah, the Cockroaches and the Simians.

  • I agree with bartman, this was my favorite. Its like the TNG episode where Troi is a Romulan Commander, excellent.

  • wow chekov looks really evil at 1:02

  • Personally, this is the best ep out of the series

  • Walter Koenig did a really good job bringing out the bad side of Chekov.

  • Is it odd that I find Chekov to be sexier than usual in this episode?

  • In the mirror universe, didn't Germany win WWII?

  • Not in this mirror universe.

  • Going by the Enterprise background, it was probably the English who conquored the world. Tho there's no way of knowing.

A Terran Empire movie would be cool.

  • would be nice!

I am german and I would like to see America's face punched!

  • As a german, aren't you not alowed to say that? (You know, the censorship of pro-WWII stuff?)

  • yes that's true - in REAL life.

but we're talking "parallel universe" here

    LOL

  • Some would say we deserve it. We got punched a little lower in the anatomy, on 9/11/2001. America is still the greatest country in the world- despite our problems, that we are currently working on solving- and I've been all over the world.

  • Dude don't say that you sound like a nazi.

  • It was, on September-11, 2001. But, like the Capn', we are fighting bac, against the Evil Taliban. Kind of like the Klingons and the Romulans put together, but without equality of genders. Love when the big Starship lets fly with the phasers!

  • What happened to Checkov's sash? He had it when he stepped into the lift and when he stepped off... but not during the ride down.

Yet another reason to LOVE the original!!

  • Ha!

  • 1:05 That's the most intimidating face Chekov has ever done ever.

  • i dunno, i think it was quite a friendly smile

  • LOL

  • His accent sort of completes the picture, actually.

  • haha! spocks goatee!!

  • Glory to the Empire!

  • mirror mirror

  • Ha....I love how Kirk participates in the mock leadership of his subordinates. I love it when he feels his authority as a leader threatened.

  • It would be extremely difficult to maintain any kind of structure in this parallel universe when anyone can at anytime advance by assassination and that not be discouraged.

  • good point....

  • Well they mentioned that assassination was only accepted if the officer was not following orders. Therefore is could be maintained if every man followed commands properly than disobey in fear of death. I'm not saying it's a good way to go but merely a possible one.

Also, if the Enterprise is barbaric would Klingons be constructive in this universe?

  • haha, quite possible and likely. Perhaps they would be more HUMAN than the Enterprise crew.

  • Klingons are mainly the same it was only the humans (terrans) history that changed dramatically. The rest of the galaxy continued to evolve their culture normally, this and the repercussions of people from each univerese crossing over is explored in DS9

  • You know, CBS, I'd buy the seasons if it wasn't so bloody expensive. I love TOS as much as the next guy, and I grew up watching and loving it, but I don't want to spend $60 for one season of a show that's over 40 years old. That's insane. Lower the price by 20, 30 dollars and I'm sure sales will increase significantly.

  • @StareCalmo thats cheap...i bought them when they all came out in 2004 on dvd for 100$ each.

  • :40 = Chekov has no gold sash

:41 = Now he has one

Sorry, just caught that awhile back.

  • Good eye, I just noticed that, myself!

  • Yeah, funny enough, my friends and I were talking about bloopers and mistakes like that happening in movies and stuff, and I pointed this scene out. =D

  • using sleight of hand, chekov just pulled his undershorts up really high in anticipation of killing kirk. golden space underoos.

  • My favorite episode, and I've never seen that. lol

  • Any chance you could uplaod the entire episode? This was one of the best of The Original Series.

  • They don't wanna cuz they want you to watch it on the official site. Unfortunately, only viewable in the US. SCREW YOU CBS! jk
