  • Our blood is really vital in our life. With contamination of our blood, life is threatening. It thus is apt for us to be educated with what intakes make our blood healthy or not.

  • The most comprehensive of all is DR MATTHIAS RATH HEALTH FOUNDATION..... cholesterol does not lead you to heart attack ! Encourage everyone to google/youtube Dr Rath ! All cholesterol drugs in the market carry severe long term side effects. High dosage of Vitamin C + Lysin + Prolene = Perfect Combination

  • It's the best lecture on introduction of lipid and its metabolism. Thanks so much.

  • fatty liver/steatosis hepatis is having lipid in liver.

  • THAT WAS VERY EDUCATIVE, THANKS

  • This is wrong. People with high, moderate and low cholesterol levels all have heart attacks. There is NO correlation between cholesterol levels and heart disease.

Check out the book Fat And Cholesteol Are Good For You by Doctor Uffe Ravnskov, a Swedish doctor.

This is the propaganda that the drug companies use to sell their expensive statin drugs. Cholesterol is not related to heart disease and the statin drugs have many serious side effects. They shut off Co Q10 production.

  • @AppleSouffle You are right. Cholesterol is NOT lipids (fats). It is an alcohol hence the name that ends with (ol). Belongs to group of sterols, precursor of steroids -- i.e. testosterone, estrogens, etc. LDL and HDL are lipids. It was determined to be "bad" in 1953 by Dr. Keys. See my video response "The Good Side of Cholesterol". It has not been allowed to be posted here. Dr. Kulisz

  • @AppleSouffle Your absolutely right! I love how the lecturer lumps Trans fats and Saturated fats together! Sat fats does increase LDL but there are 2 LDLs, sat fat raises LDL but not VLDL, the "bad" bad cholesterol. Also sat fat raise HDL the highest than any nutrient. Also is the Sat Fat coming from organic sources?

Just eat in the dictates of nature! I've never heard of any animals like bears who eat Sat Fat with clogged arteries?

Another good book by Uffe Ravnskov is "The Cholesterol Myths"

  • Superb. Best description I've ever seen of lipoprotein metabolism.

  • Clearest, best description I've ever seen of lipoprotein metabolism...and I teach this stuff! Thank you. I will be recommending this video to all my students.

  • This was fantastic thank you sooooo much I now understand enough to present a seminar to my class thanks Linda

  • Not much about how HMG-Coa-reductase regulates most of our cholesterol levels (about 80 %). Statins act on HMGR just as cholesterol it self. High blood sugar raises the production of cholesterol.

  • thank you!!!

    good lecture

    מאוד מעניין

  • wow shes really good at explaining lipids

  • very clear Dr. tracy. good job, also intresting

  • !!! Absolutely the best Lipid lecture I have seen, I am a NP and have practiced in the medical field for approximately 24 years...Tracy...very excellent summary of complex and vital concepts !!!!

  • very good, clear.

  • Good lecture. Except the fact that there are no studies which clearly show LDL/HDL affects your rate of CVD. And plenty of studies which can show that diet, based on regional variation, does not affect your chances of CVD.

Not surprising as this is from a Pharmacology lecturer who's job is to get pharma industry people into academic programs...

  • @SwannieUK. your diet can influence your chance/risk of CVD. it all depends on the type of lifestyle you live, the kinds of foods you eat and how much of the same kind of foods you eat.

    P.S. I am a Registered Dietitian

  • You're a registered dietitian, which means you learned what to say, not how to do your own research.

  • @polymorphously, It is the research we do that allows us to give diet advice.

  • excellent video.Thank you very much Dr T Fulton.

  • What a nice lecture...I benefited from it the most and will use some of the slides in my lecture to teach my studens in Turkey.

    Thanks to the lecturer.

  • excellent video.Thank you so much. Its very useful.

  • man this is a good video~~ so much beter than my stpd lipid lecturer that speaks in a mono-tone and cnt lecture for @#$%^ lol man I hate her~

  • good video

  • I worry alot about the potential side effects of "big pharma" prescription drugs, I have always gravitated toward a natural alternative. For the longest time I had no idea that such an alternative even existed for cholesterol! I thought Rx was the only choice. Sterolyn is brilliant no side effects at all for me. I really appreciate this product.

  • very well done. now my doctor don't have to convince me. But I'm also interested in the side effects of the atorvastatins. Some say that it makes you forgetful (even stupid, with humor of course).

  • it's only appropriate to say that this is the best and clearest explanation of lipids.......thank you sooooo much

  • thank you a lot !
