@TheNitendodslite Okay, the last engine isn't really an engine, it just provides power to the cars (lights, A/C etc.) so only 2 are actually pulling it. And the first one is required to pull it because it is ACSES equipped which is required to travel over that certain section of track. But everywhere else, just the second engine seen here powers the train.
