@Violinkid05 Thank you, and now that you say that, it's hard to believe that was when I was in 8th grade. Well I'm in the higher orchestra now, Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the person who played with me, Andrew Cleveland, I believe is in the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra.
the bad thing about this world is that if they were all boys, you wouldn't even have posted a comment! you wouldn'y even have notice that... unfair isn't it?
Yes that's true, it is most certainly a shame - the further you go back, video-wise, the less women there seem to be in orchestras. I'm glad times are changing!
the orchestra he is playing in is mostly middle school and some early high school and it is semi-competitive to get in. the high school orchestra is highly competitive, and the college orchestra has its own set of rules that we don't know at this point. this jr orchestra played a 30 minute concert as a prelude to the high school orchestra that is sponsored by the college
technically it's pretty far from"easy", especially for cellists and violins. this year, out of 26 cellos, 14 made it
however, it doesn't mean it's impossible. the audition is also to see which students have the potential to grow as musicians,
i'd say that if you're fairly experienced with thumb position and stuff, you just need to prepare a good audition. if you're still curious, feel free to message me and i'd be glad to help
pretty good, not much contrast with the cresendos and such. 1st violins rushed like always.

No, the person on the right with the haircut is me. I was in 8th grade in this video. I'm in 9th now.

In the edited copy i have, the recommended speed is 96 crotchet/min. This is just over that, i think it's a decent speed for the piece.

Interesting how all the violinists seem to be girls haha. I think girls and the violin go together great though!
