Listening to this something occurred to me. Your average party of adventurers get more job offers within a single year than your average person gets within their entire lifetime. Why s that? is it because they have the power of the 'GM wants to get the story moving'? Do we as gamers just ignore the fact that the whole world really does revolve around our characters?
@tetsubo57 Interesting question! How great was unemployment in the middle ages? Were there such things as unemployed peasants that weren't just beggars? I suppose skilled workers such as adventurers have a natural niche in that feudal lords often need hired mercenaries to perform tasks and errands for them.
@clackclickbang Which is why starving peasants would sometimes become highwaymen! Or pirates! Or join a military unit! Or colonists! A life of adventure and death! Mostly death though...
Great Vid. Really enjoy listening to your groups exploits using Pathfinder. Having just got Pathfinder I hope my game can be half as good for the players.Looking forward to hearing more
That attic whisperer is horrific! I must use it in a game! I may be running a Vampire chronicle soon, and I think such a creature is very well suited to any WoD game.
Also, good ol' Xzar. That Malkavian mage was always my favorite character from Baldur's Gate.
"Those the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad! MaD MaHahAhahahD!!!"
@Onionkid99 Definitely. Not all monsters in the World of Darkness need to be WoD supernaturals. It's better to throw in the occasional surprise from time to time.
"I wanted infravision like the elves... But twas not so easy as stealing their eyes!"
every pc had a negative dream experience in the forest. but it was seemingly not to do with the forest. oh dear, it's deirdre... enjoyed the video. and the description of the demon chasing your dual-classed ranger.
do you often use dreams as story, plot, suspense ? i ask because i do. i have a druid specialty class, dreamers. it's interesting to see develop and play during roleplay.
@clackclickbang you so-and-so. yes i know i've read it. no i can't remember the name of the novel. no, i'm not going to search online. it is an old one, i think. sounds like...? 'islands in the stream' ? i may have just gibb-ed out.
my last session had all four pcs having live-dreams induced by 'my version of four of the egyptian gods'. pc freak outs followed. the minotaure ranger found himself defending sacre couer, paris in 2012...against an u.s. invasion. he'll never be the same again
Are you revealing the dreams to the players in written form so they remain unaware of each others dreams even in rl?
MisterWeed 1 month ago
@MisterWeed No no. I do it in front of the others, but they're well-behaved and don't metagame.

@clackclickbang Unemployed serfs were called starving people. If you didn't work, you didn't eat.

@tetsubo57 That game wouldn't be much fun.

I'm leading a campaign with a demon army lead by a Glabrezu. Have you gotten someone to draw the mushroom king for you yet?

nice one
23penguins32 1 year ago
@23penguins32 Indeed; the dreams from the forest were more historical or prophetic. Or neither. But you're right, they weren't to do with the forest.
Deirdre? Name the Forgotten Realms novel she was in and gain a cookie.
I've used dreams in this game quite a lot but never before. I do find them quite useful.
