not impossible . just really hard . This guy has been practicing for a long time obviously and as far as i know drumming (maybe just a little) his technique is spot on in regards to playing the drums . No wasted movement swinging his arms and legs about . You'd probably collapse if you tried playing V-Snares with sloppy technique .

@SMNH89 It's both breakbeat and D&B. It has a breakbeat...which means that the beat is really asymmetrical and usually mixed up from a straightforward beat (like the amen break). But overall the genre is D&B...it just is.

It's like squares and rectangles, man.

@squiresuzuki its more like breakcore. dnb usually has a stable tempo of 170bpm. breakcore just floats around from different tempos and breaks to create the effect we are witnessing above.

This does have a steady tempo as well, which doesn't change the whole piece. However, it is a piece written in 7/4, very unconventional for electornic music. Plus, it does not maintain the same drum pattern, and changes it very often, with many unorthodox variations, which are far from a regular dnb pattern. That is why it's breakcore.

@Gaudentic Press the skin while you're playing and it'll become higher pitched, blow air into it via a tube which goes through an air hole and the same happens, suck air from it and it becomes lower, hit nearer the edge and it sounds higher, hit in the centre and it sounds lower, the 'sweet spot' sounds different again, hit harder or softer, retune it, muffle after hitting, etc... Lots of ways to change tune (or overall sound) while playing.

Also, drums have a nasty habit of detuning over time.
