if your not using the chair this Sarurday night can i barrow it for a few hours? I got a gay mayor who got caught kissing his underage boyfriend in the city hall restrooms and lied about it until after he was elected.
@AmericanPride1234 That's baby shit compared to my mother, whoring herself out, taking government money paid to me and spending it on her greedy self, almost killing my dad (which is the worst offence) and treating me and my brother like lowlife scum (smacking our heads against the wall regularly) And she wonders why I only eat dinner once every three days and never at the same table as her. When I get hold of Old Sparky... she won't wonder no more.
With his obvious talent he could find immediate employment in the fast food business assembling cheeseburgers or possibly on the fashion catwalks of Milan or Paris.
Why would the warden bother shaking the hand of the condemned if he is going to kill him? I would just see that as a sign of remorse. Might as well just open the gate and let the man go free.
I actually couldn't help but laugh at this at points. The little "ready sign in the winder", then knock twice, then I'll blow my nose with a green handkerchief, then we'll tap two more times, then I'll clear my throat, then Bobby over there will pull the underwear out of his crack, then I'll come back in the first room and nod at everyone, then I'll go take a leak, then I'll come back and if the guy hasn't hung himself from boredom we'll throw the switch and put him out.
@LaJunta Whatever, if he doesnt feel it, whats the problem? And how "humane" is it to lock someone up in a small cell for the rest of his life? Or how "humane" is it to kill an innocent child of police officer? 80 years in a cell hurts more than 20 seconds on the electric chair. God Bless America
@jeroennewyork no, the electric chair causes body temperature to rise to 138degrees F. the inmate might not feel it but the skin on the head is cooked pretty badly. It is usually dark red/brown and burned a lot even if everything goes the way it's supposed to..to see what someone executed looks like, google some pictures of the ted bundy autopsy.
@LaJuntaExposed I have see ted's pics ted should have got 240 volts at 1 amp hour for hours and hours and hours. Ted was all about control to to bad he didn't suffer much more.
@justaRandomhero It is also inhumane when a murderer tortures a victim for days on end before murdering the innocent victim in cold blood. The death penalty is used for the worst offenders. They have no place in our society.
Long live the electric chair, and long live the practice of torturing murderers so that they feel the pain of their victims! The bible says an eye for an eye, and that ordains us to take the lives of those who kill the innocent. I wish nothing but pain and torture upon their bodies before they are sent to hell!!
@LegendCarolina "I wish nothing but pain and torture upon their bodies before they are sent to hell!!"
Do you wish the same for yourself? I ask, because you must realize that when it comes to hell and damnation, God has a zero tolerance policy on any/all sin. Have you ever sinned? Guess what that means: you're going to hell. Or at least you would be, unless Christ is executed on your behalf instead. If he has been, I don't see how you can wish pain and torment on criminals. That's hypocrisy.
It's very hard to believe that something so barbaric takes place in the United States. While lethal injection is used 99% of the time, can you believe there was an electrocution just last year in 2010 in Virginia?!!?
I wonder how the technik is, it is known that Linda Block was executed by 2500 in 1st jolt and 250 volts in 2nd jolt, where they switch when there is one lever?
@hallo1521 Glad to see someone else is interested in the details! The answer is that the sequence of jolts is controlled by a timer, like the cycle on a washing machine. When the executioner throws that last switch (at 3:20) the timer begins the sequence, automatically switching voltages after a certain amount of time.
Now, I'd like to know what those three switches are that he throws earlier to "engage the machine"!
@hallo1521 Yes, you're right about the big lever - it's for an old-style high-voltage circuit breaker. BTW, if you want to see some scary e-chair wiring, check out the control panel in the "Ohio electric chair history" video. They're lucky that only the condemned inmate got fried! In contrast, Virginia has a pretty slick-looking setup.
@hallo1521 To follow up: in the past, the chairs didn't have automatic timers - the executioner manually switched voltages and kept track of the times. Some of them, like Robert Elliott in NY, seemed to have very specific ideas about voltages and timings that would be most effective, especially using sequences of alternating high and low voltages. I don't think there was any scientific basis for it.

Bad acting, A yellow chair????, I just wonder if these people actually know what they are doing? It looks like something out of the dark ages. An instrument of torture! They need to stop pretending that what they are doing is ok, that somehow by all this theatrics, that what they are doing is somehow not murder too!
@unclefixer The electric chair in Alabama is yellow because it was first constructed at Kilby Prison in Montgomery, which was sited right next to the Alabama Highway Department. Yellow highway line stripe paint was donated by the Highway Department to the prison for its long durability. This video is from the mid-1980's. The chamber was remodeled in 2002 when lethal injection became the primary method. Formerly inmates awaiting death gave media interviews from the witness room.
That's one ugly chair!
I would appeal to get another.

I think the big lever at 2:47 its for the high voltage supply, the small one seems to be for the timer system.
All the equipment seems to be constructed in a carport between two cups of coffee
