  • I have to wait till 3rd year before I get to officially learn any of this. You've just saved me a full year of waiting!

  • This is really great help.

Can you teach us how to make breast?

  • @vivoslibertos hm.... I need to show some female character modeling in that case, right? I wish I had some free time in my hand to make more tutorials... I hope to do that someday...

  • @sampad01

If possible from your existing male model.

  • you are my man!!

    Thanks a lot.

  • @stevespeeder Glad to be useful!

  • ANYONE know where i can get the thing he made his body above?? the skeleton thing?

  • Hi I'm a student currently studying Animation at university, I have a few short animations that I have created and would extremely appreciate if anyone would take a minute view them :)

Please subscribe as I will be adding more animations as they are done.

Give some constructive comments and let me know what you think.

    Thank you.

  • do you have the file that your model can move? I really want to see it. In tutorial I mean :)

  • I am not able to find your 20 part tutorial.. Please can you give me the link..

Also, please can you upload a tutorial on how to add walk cycle to the human model you created.. Thanks a lot man.. Really appreciate it..

  • @patilmp04 Just click on my name, bro! You will see all the uploads I made. Alright I will keep your request in mind about creating walk cycles.

  • @sampad01 Ahhh.. Okay, I just saw that it is with the name of character modelling, rather than body modelling.. Sorry for that; a silly overlook on my part. And.. looking forward to your tutorial on walk cycle, I am sure it will be really helpful. Thanks a lot bro...

  • @sampad01 Ahhh.... So sorry, I see that it is named character modelling.

Waiting for your tutorials on walk cycles.. I am sure they will be really helpful...

    Thanks a lot bro..

  • how can i get the model?

  • way too quick man lol, hard to keep up

  • @isyutd159 Check out my new tutorials.. All in real time... just go to my channel. its a 20 part tutorial starting from part 0 to part 19. Every single part is focused in detail.

  • @sampad01 ah kool thanks!

  • thank you so much~!!

  • how you get the skeleton for your base...

  • i cant get those lines that are red gree and blue how the heck do you do that

  • sound would be nice to!! like a step by step guide!! aarrrggg

  • How many polys is dat body?

  • where did you get the wire-frame to base your model?

  • What was the final tri/poly count?

  • slow a bit please!

  • I love the part when the msn pop up....lol

  • I hope he still checks messages, very nice tutorial. About a slow tutorial/walk through for the noobs like my self. When I extrude the legs, they extrude straight out, not like in your video, how are you doing it? Thanks, and thank you for taking the time making this tutorial is awesome.

  • @jerodvel extruding is supposed to do that. It always comes straight out. I dhon't know where I did that in these vids. But the thing is u extrude from the bottom of the torso, select the new verts and take them to the knee's place, then extrude the new polygon again and move it to the ankle area and so on. I hope that made some sense. I really wish I had time to make another tutorial. Truth is I did make another tutorial in slow mo. But I can't upload it to youtube, it gives me error messages.

  • Gracias!

  • perfect

  • it would really help if you weren't going so fast but it is helpful thanks man

  • good job man ;)

  • Greetings from Mexico.

I found amazing your tutorial its reaaally cool, man.

I am a maya 2009 noobie and I would like to ask you for some help.

Every time that I create a polygonal primitive ex. Sphere, I can't see the INPUTS (construction history) in the channel box. I think that maybe, by mistake, I deleted the history. The question is. How can i restore my INPUTS ? and see them back again.

I know this is a dumb question, but remember I am a Noobie.

  • I'm using maya 2009. where did you get the skeleton to base your model off of? is it an option in maya?

  • no, buddy.. I made it.. you can see the making in the first part.

  • Really good model. I'm sort of starting up on Maya, though I'm doing alright so far.

  • Excellent, thankyou so much. Fantastic video. My colleague and I were both entertained by your MSN conversation during modelling!

  • Its easy actually...

you just make sure the pivot point of the model is at the very middle of the box/cube you are beginning with and then delete half of it by going to polygons components. and then duplicate the rest half using "instance" from duplicate options. Then scale the new duplicate in x axis by ading a - sign before any value it has in the scale x axis. In my case I just scaled it using -1 value. voila! thats mirror!

  • Hello will you please tell me if the shoulders deform properly.

  • Hi,

I actually did not skin r rig this one but I have done others with same topology. The answer is yes. They do. But I now prefer the other topology which deforms even better than this one. By that I mean extrude the shoulders/arms directly from the torso.. no need to extrude a deltroid first and then extrude the arm from under it.. like I did here. And same goes for the hips. Just extrude them straight down from the torso.

  • okay thank you

  • cool, what version of maya do you use?

  • I currently use maya 8.5 :D

  • Thats really good, could you make a tutorial on how to do this so with subs or you explaining what tools to use and how and so on. The model doesn't need to be perfect i just want a rough idea on what to do on where.

  • you have very good skills, great video.

  • Thank you very much for your kind comment, dude :) Glad to be of some help to the community :D

  • This is very good, thanx.

i can understand it, even at that speed.

  • Glad that you all liked it :)

  • Very nice! I don't think I could create a model with that ammount of detail without any blueprints or reference images just yet, lol.

  • could u slow it down and explain...0.o

  • Ready for zbrush ! xD

  • I always have trouble with the proportions of my characters, mostly because of bad reference images... Where did you find your reference model? I've never seen someone use a 3d skeleton as the reference for a character.

  • u giv me inspiration to become a game designer please add me

  • Thanks for watching! Glad to be helpful :D

  • dude great english awsum nextgen style modeling u should download blender export the models to game engine an make a game

  • if possible, please post a video of tips on modeling the shoulder chest and back muscle edges.

  • Excellent! I use 3ds max and I have a final project to do. I could use more tips on how to in enclude the muscles. Good Job!

  • This is amzing. You're really helping out by showing not only the process of modeling with clean topology but also modeling for animation. Thanks much!

  • wow! absolutely amazing job there! even though it was a bit fast paced (as i'm sure this is a demonstration video moreso than an actual tutorial), i've learned a lot - the way that you address the muscles, the shoulder area, pelvis, etc. the way you modeled this seems so different than a lot of other modelers - you seem to take a nice, clean, uncomplicated approach throughout the entire process, and still end up with something phenomenal! i'm gonna study this vid for awhile now!! thanks!! =D

  • Thanks:) I added voice in only one of my tutorials. I will add voice now that u have asked for it :)
