  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BluesDfender Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • What kind of guitar is the larger one?

  • @RascalKyng Thank you for your question. Bill is playing his 1930 Regal Parlor guitar. I found this on ebay for him for only $200. He had the neck reset for a $100. Dig that cool pickquard! It turned out pretty sweet. Enjoy.

  • I thought so... kind of has that Old Regal Le Domino Big Boy tone... good stuff

  • Great arrangement Keni! :D

  • Thank you. Enjoy.

  • All 'round great...love the rhythm.

  • @brennonjohn Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • really enjoyed the whole thing, keep it goin.

  • @zimmy81 Thank you for your comment and encouragement. Enjoy.

  • Been watching you guys for a while and you are really getting it together that song was tight.

  • @thatlondon Thank you for your comment and encouragement. I wish we had more time to spend playing together. Life may be cyclical, but it is far from symetrical. LOL Enjoy.

  • Keni Lee i was wondering why is Bills bottom 3 strings tuned as a 1st inversion of yours.Hmmmmmmmm.Practicality?

  • Good question! Do you see the relationship between Vestapol 151351, Spanish 515135, and Open C 151513? Do you see the string relationships? Note the the 3rd tone moving toward the floor. I refer to CD 3. If you understand this these 3 open tunings get less mysterious. Then cross note tuning aka Open minor tunings 1513flat51, 51513flat5 and 151513flat become clear. Many times the old blues masters would hold the flat 3rd at the first fret for a major song. Then without retuning play in minor.

  • @KeniLeeBurgess Yeh Keni Lee i can totally see how this is working due to your concise overview.I can also see how this would offer interesting possiblilities with 2 guitars. Thanks bro you've gave me alot to think about.

  • Thank you. Enjoy.

  • Certainly each tuning offers various inversions of the three basic chords and different doublestops. Try arranging the same song in each tuning. From spanish key of g, capo the 5th fret for key of c. You will learn alot. Enjoy.

  • I always have to stop by every day or so to see what you guys have posted. This one is very good.

  • Thank you for stopping by again and leaving your encouraging comment. Enjoy.

  • Yeah I know I've commented on this before but I'm still loving it and just had to say so! Fantastic groove...

  • Thank you for the encouragement. Another kind word is always welcome. Enjoy.

  • Reminds me of that the night sleepin' in a dtch drunk on whiskey wonderin' about life,.....but that was 40 years ago,...gotta love this Youtube,...would have never seen this with out it,...gotta like that blues

  • @mapearce1 Smashed and Sleepin' in a Ditch...sounds like a classic blues song to me. LOL Thank you for your comment. Ebjoy.

  • That was definitely kick ass! Loved it! Both guitars were tight...

  • @dirtystrings Thank you. Bill and I have been playing together for years. Bill is a most excellent sideman and friend. Enjoy.

  • Ive been waiting for you to cover this one, its my absolute fave blues song and Son House is THE best. I really liked your take on it, class.

  • @jackn1969 Thank you for your comment. This definitely is an uptown 1940 night club arrangement. All I need now is an orchestra. I have a traditional cover in the works. A friend of mine gave me some new movie maker software. I am in the process of learning how to use it and installing a few upgrades. Once I get it done I will post. Enjoy.

  • Yo guys this rocks and rolls like only a few good old parlor guitars can sound

  • Good job Y'all.

Keni, tell Bill I like his "stash" I've been growing on mine like that for about 12 years now, lol.

The way you two play together is cool too.

    Your Pard,

    Jimbo

  • @jimbo226 Hello Jimbo. I hope all is well. Thank you for comments. Bill reads the comments too. So, I am sure he heard. Enjoy.

  • ahah he is a nice dog

  • @Ragpicker81 Thank you for your comment. Set up the camera...Onyx will come. LOL Enjoy.

  • hi Ken, not able to find guitar? cheers Carl

  • @coopermano9 Hello Carl. I will send you a direct link to my auctions. Maybe you are on the UK ebay site instead of the US site? Sorry, but the guitar is for sale in the US only. Thank you for your interest. Enjoy.

  • i just got into Son House after i watched "it might get loud" keep up the good work

  • @yayadenial Thank you for your comment and sharing. Looks like an interesting documentary. Certainly the early rural blues is the root of it all. You can say a hell of a lot with five notes and an alternating rhythm. Enjoy.

  • Awesome as usual KLB!!

  • @IggyTheBiker Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Awesome version, great playing gents!!

  • @weiserec66 Thank you for your comment and encouragement. Enjoy.

  • wow :o) goooooose bumps!!!!!

  • @R0BERTMAY Ya, that minor tuning is like scratching your nails on a blackboard. You can't help but feel it! Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.

  • You guys blew me away with this one! I have listened to this non-stop for the past 30 minutes. I love the minor key and Bill's smooth slide work. Awesome! The best yet!

  • @Alyson1961 Thank you for your kinds words. Ya, that minor tuning is the bomb and I agree, Bill is one Kool Kat. Enjoy.

  • Great groove! Isn't it surprising how sometimes it's the simplest stuff that sounds the best? Loved it.

  • @papasilvertooth Thank you. Yes, it is just like a good cup of coffee and a piece homemade pie. It does not need to be fancy to be satisfying. Just done right. Enjoy.

  • Great tune and wonderful playing. 5 stars as usual ;-)

    Ulli

  • @ulli61 Thank you for your comment and continued support. Enjoy.

  • Awesome Kenny Lee!!! I wished you guys would have played this another 10 minutes or so - nice groove!!!

  • @Wharty Thank you for your comment. Well, if you were here playing your harp, we certainly would add space for your extended solo! Enjoy.

  • Awesome as usual man

  • @srvfan454 Thank you. Ya, you wouldn't think something good can come out of sitting around drinking beer, eating pizza, and playing guitar. LOL. Enjoy.

  • Oh yeah, that's what im talking about, hope to be able to learn some slideguitar soon. :)

  • Thank you for your comment. Please feel free to write if you have any questions. Enjoy.

  • Dang boy, TEAR IT UP!!! That was awesome!

  • Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Great tune as usual, love it...

    Danny

  • Thank you Danny. Got to love Pizza and Beer night. Enjoy.

  • My god!! Rocked my socks off!!

    What a groove!!

    Cool!

p.s: thanks for the answer you gave me last week about the C tuning.. i owe you! as always!

    bye bye!

    bluetche

  • Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Ya, I feel like I should be wearing a white zoot suit and strutting around like Cab Caloway in some big uptown city night club. All I need is a brass horn section! LOL My pleasure about the tuning. Enjoy

  • Nice to see Onyx again!

    Good job guys!

  • Thank you. I got to get him to the groomer. I think he is mostly hair right now. LOL

  • Like always you guys sound great. It's good to see and hear Bill again too.

  • Hi bigfrank. Nice to hear from you. Hope all is well. BTW: Happy New Year

    Enjoy.

  • heeeeeellll ya!! Your voice just keeps getting better KeniLee! Love the dog roggin out across the front of the vid haha!! That thumb drone has just got it going on man. I will have to try that tuning out later today over a few whiskeys and beers.

  • Thank you. I felt my vocals sounded a little rough. I was out a few days ago hootin' and hollerin' on the subway platforms. The old pipes are a little tired. Ya I had a few beers last night too. Definately lightens up the mood. Enjoy.

  • wow those are weird tunings but what do i know about blues...?!?!

    sounds very nice!!!

  • Thank you for your comment. I am in Open C tuning (151513) or (CGCgce) but with the third (e) tuned down a half step to Eflat. Bill is in Vestapol tuning (151351) in the key of C (CGCegc). He also tuned down the third (e) a half step. The 1, flat3, and 5 from the major scale makes up a minor chord. Enjoy.

  • Yeh very cool guys.Sounds the bomb. For some reason i can hear hand claps all through this.Nice adaptation.

  • Thank you. Yes, the rhythm is very percussive with me slapping that bottleneck on the fingerboard. I wanted a real 1940 uptown night club sound. This arrangement is quite bare bone. I would love to hear it with other instruments. Harmonica...Piano...maybe a brass section? Enjoy.
