I generally treat this day as any other. But, this year for some mysterious reason, and although I drink alcohol infrequently, I procured a small bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, and toasted in the new year. I then wished my dog, Pippin, good fortune in the coming year, and immediately hit the sack (and slept remarkably well). The problem with all this frivolity is, I now have an almost full bottle of Bailey's to quietly dispose of, which I'm sure I will, eventually.

For my New Years Eve, I watched The Big Bang Theory in my pajamas while drinking tea and eating cheese dip (and chips, for the record. I didn't eat the cheese dip by the spoonfuls or anything). My sister and I do that every year--eat junk food and watch endless episodes of a television show we like but rarely have time to see. It's the only way to go.

I remember the first time that I stayed up on New Years Eve... I remember thinking "This is it?" It was fairly disappointing. Though when I was 13 and babysat with my friend on the eve of 1999, we ran through the streets screaming and throwing confetti... that was the way to bring in the new millennium!

Since I am living in Edinburgh I wanted to make sure to experience the huge Hogmanay celebration that the city offered. It turns out that for £16.50 you are paying to queue for the loo all night.
