Moodle Presentation

There is a lot of talk of SCORM which I understand to simply mean a standard that allows various kinds of learning software to be hosted on a Moodle site.

I just learnt about Articulate (which my limited understanding suggests is a presentation-type of program. Can't I just use PowerPoint and video files to achieve the same thing rather than buying Articulate to load into Moodle?

Any one know with out looking at other peoples computer how to hack moodle ? how in multible choice? can you use a program to se the hidden anwsers or some thing ? I need help.. please find some way i got a test friday :p

So true, Aaronshaf. This slick (Adobe?) presentation in no way represents the Moodle courses I've seen nor Moodle graphic capabilities... make that INcapabilities. Are there any decent examples of Moodle-based courses out there, or are they all confusing text and 90's-style clip-art? I really want Moodle to live up to the hype, but I'm becoming very discouraged.

Moodle is as good as you make it.

But remember content is always king not the Learning Management System.

You get out of it what you put into it.

i was at redstone public school when they introduced moodle but when i went to the log in page it looked completely diffrent and they said its only allowed for only a few particular schools and they said you cant make an account on yur own to keep out random strangers and it only for grade 7's and 8's im lost im not sure what to do i got the user and password but i dont know where to go please respond

Haha use it and you'll know. Many interesting and helpful functions, no lag, but one thing. At 9.25pm you just came out from moodle. 9.29pm you finish your work. 9.30pm you want to hand up your assignment and you see : THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED. And you wait 1 whole hour before moodle is reactivated. Happens like once a week?

Online learning has been supported by rubbish Learnwise, Blackboard etc for years. Moodle is like a breath of fresh air.

Very nice video. How did you make it? What software did you use?

Thanks javanigus. I used Keynote to make the slides and some of the transitions, and then iMovie to add the transitions between sections and to mix in the music (I also used GarageBand to mix the track).

Thanks angelinapril. All software I used is bundled with new Macs and is free for Mac users (except for Keynote - but you do get a free 1 month trial for it).

I disecourage to invest too much time into MOODLE: we have it on campus, and it sux!

Crashing, our administrators seem unable to solve it. MOODLE gets problems with Adobe Acrobat Pro and other standart SW. Some times it works, sometimes not - no telling when or why. 

It's a patchwork. On the previous campus we had a simple system with Database and FTP/Shared Directories. That worked - with 8x as many students than now!

Wonderful video. Moodle is used by major universities (Open University in UK, 150,000 users),large government agencies, k-12 schools, and many community organizations -so it has quite a bit going for it. When properly installed and running on sufficient hardware (like any software!), Moodle is a powerful and useful tool to facilitate learning. If you are having trouble with your IT department or your own servers, consider contacting a Moodle Partner to host it. They know Moodle.

exactly!!! they told me in my school "it will make your lives easier"... you mean your lives, not ours!!! oh yeah, sure check it every day... what if the server is down? what if the internet is down?? damn it!

Don't blame the technology if it isn't used in the right way! Moodle is just a tool that can be used in a variety of ways. But it's certainly not a solution to all your problems. Talk with your teachers if you think they are not using the tools in the right way.
