Lightning and Thunder over San Francisco California September 2009

Lived in Richmond since birth 1972 till 1990 now I live in las Vegas can only remember twice we hade lighting storm in bay but here in las Vegas wow it's going on as I write. And that's all summer long when we get rain.

So rare out here. When I was younger back in the mid 80s we had a one in a million electrical storm. Lightening and thunder for several hours straight. it knocked out the power pole up the street. The other day I was sitting and it started hailing. i told my kids to get away from the metal sliding door. 20 seconds later the loudest clap of thunder I ever heard. Must have been right on top of us because no delay from the flash. very rare indeed. Nice video.

awesome footage! thunderstorms are unusual for the bay area indeed, i saw this like as early as 3am in San Jose. luckily i had my camera with me so i was able to take some lightning, it's on my channel so feel free to check it out :)

that was some scary shit! i woke up at 8:30 am on saturday to the sound of thunder and lightning.i thought it was the end of the world.

You talking about that big boom?? Oh hell yeah I heard that. I was on the computer on the lightning detection network to see if there is more lightning in our area. Well I didn't have to look far. Just look out my window and I find out.

On the intersection of Turk & Hyde and the building was hit for sure. The power went out immediately when it was struck and somehow my arms got numb some. Do you remember hearing that hard boom of thunder and lightning at 8:30 AM, if so then that was the thunder from lightning striking my building. We had no power for two days.

i live on market and valencia, yes i remember the big boom at 8;30 am. our lights only went out for a while not more than an hr though. i remember wathching the news afterwards ,they where saying it hit some houses in richmond and caused some fires,

last night was really weird... the thunder nearly shook my whole building, rumbling. the first time i heard it yesterday, i thought it was a jet. felt really strange though.
