New study If we freeze spending at todays levels. In a little over 30 years from now revenues will barely cover SS medicare/medicaid. There will be no money to fund the rest of government. No money to pay the 3 million gov. employees as well as Congresses salaries and pensions. No money for military, commerce, agriculture, roads, road, energy, health depts FBI CIA etc.. in other words the government collapses then no SS or medicare as well. That is how bad our debt and unfunded liabilities are.

New study If we freeze spending at todays levels. In a little over 30 years from now revenues will barely cover SS medicare/medicaid. There will be no money to fund the rest of government. No money to pay the 3 million gov. employees as well as Congresses salaries and pensions. No money for military, commerce, agriculture, roads, road, energy, health depts FBI CIA etc.. in other words the government collapses then no SS or medicare as well. That is how bad our debt and unfunded liabilities are.

It is fine to increase spending during recession because the percentage of GDP and debt. But when the economy is stabilized, there is when cutting needs to be done. The economy was stagnant and if you actually go to college and learn macro econ - you'd be familiar with keynesian economics approach. The problem with govt - they could have exercised spending during bad time to stimulate the economy and cut the spending when it is good.
