All have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible. The just punishment is death then hell. That's not Gods will. He suffered and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His life's blood so He could legally dismiss your case. You must repent turn from your sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
I find, Paul Washer goes way out of his way to be dramatic. He forces his voice to be overly inflectious. He makes a point to sound overly profound and emotional. Every video of him on Youtube, he sounds exasperated. This is a old technique used by many TV evangelist to bolster themselves as "a man of God." He doesn't do this at a crescendo of his speech, but does this in virtually every sentence he speaks. Sometimes he uses a exasperated inflection, several times - in one sentence.
Actually, I like Bentley's testimony better! He gets to make all the decisions, tell God what to do and when to do it. He gets to sit on the throne of his own life and call the shots. Who wouldn't want that? Jesus wasn't even Lord until Todd "made" him Lord - that is way cool - I want that kind of power - sign me up!! (said tongue in cheek)
Actually the reason why many people like Paul Washer once then after the stop liking his messages is that he travels around the world reforming churches who have gone off the path, or he is invited to preach in a church that brings in lost people. If Paul Washer had one church that he pastored he would not nee to preach like the way he does - I have been listening to him for 6 years and never walk away angry with him or feeling hopeless :) but always praising the Lord.
For example how often do you see washer raise his hands up and praise Jesus with a true joy filled smile ? I more see him pointing a finger at the audience and making a left right left hand movement across his body. To me it gets old, because after one repents of sin, they rejoice in the presence of God. And every time I hear washer, he is like a broken record, talking people down for what they aren't doing, and not encouraging them. I guess it works for some, just not always for me.
@JesusinEndTimes Paul washer is rejoicing way more he is praising the lord for everything he has done. He has joy in salvation and in Christ. His testimony is really Jesus saved even someone like him, Paul washer sat in his room day after day until Jesus saved him he didn't just say a prayer to have Jesus he seeked the lord.
go to the YouTube bar and type in (Paul washer closet) it should be the first one. That is his real testimony.
@pmusicmaker300 I totally agree. I don't think one is better than the other. Each have their ups and downs. Perhaps one is more committed to repentance ministry, but then again when I hear him talk about people asking him " How do you preach like that"- Washer, I think he speaks with inner pride, thinking he is somehow better than others. Bentley has his downs, but Jesus is our only UP, we are ALL work in progress. Having said this, the fruit that people bare is always the good indicator.
For example I don't always hear Washer speaking with joy. Or happy. He is a good repentance preacher, but I have seen "happier" people, not just constantly broken records speaking on the same subject. I am not advocating Bentley, just saying people do have different strengths and weaknesses.
Who are we to judge who is geniune ? I have backslid before, but earlier I was so in love with Jesus, filled with His Spirit. Since I have met others, of whom I cannot tell wether they had been of the Spirit or not. I could guess, I could not know. The true intentions of the heart, in the dark, alone, only God knows. I don't always agree with Washer. He had his own experience, people have different conversion experiences, the rest is doctrinal debates, personalities.
YIKES!!! Where is discernment, people?? Read your Bible!! Get aquainted with it's author; the Holy Spirit. Then it will be easy to recognize the genuine from the false. This Bently mess is a disgrace, and how dare anyone call what he promotes "of God" ? This is demonic and a blasphemy against a Holy God... you are being duped. Seek GOD, not "experiences".
@aioee Wrong! How do you confirm that The Holy Spirit is inside anyone but by his fruits?? :S Please! Brother Washer was missionary... he really knows WHAT's the Holy Spirit's Work!
@aioee Just curios What makes you think an adulterous, lying exhibitionist has the holy spirit flowing through him. For it is written in scripture that God hates those who live in iniquity.
@aioee How do you know "the Holy Spirit flows thru him" (Bently). Are you testing what he teaches by the Word, to see if it be true? Saying Jesus appeared to him? Calling on angels? Punching and kicking people? Please find Scripture to support what he teaches and does. . This is the way God has provided protection for us, so we won't be deceived. Check everything you see and hear, by the only true standard, His Word !
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 This is the gospel. To believe, to repent, to be baptized and then to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. He that endures to the end will be saved. Matt 10:22
I do hear the difference, i feel the difference, OH GOD, I feel a beautifull ,anointing spirit. Paul Washer, wow, i don't know what to say but lots all called but few are chosen and i know he is one of them chosen. Help me lord to be faithfull to you everyday, every hour, every minute in my heart, mind and soul.
@aTrueHybrid What do you mean by 'called to teach'? I'm unaware of the phrase in the Bible. I know it is a 'gift' that God grants to members of His Body! Many have told me I'm an excellent teacher! I would imagine then, that God has granted me the 'gift'. I don't 'pastor' a 'church', if that's what you mean. Regarding James 3:1, it's something for all of us to heed and be fearful of, which is why, we all must be diligent to devote ourselves to 'sound doctrine' and to defend it Biblically.
@aTrueHybrid What ever you term you apply to my language is irrelevant. The irrefutable Truth my language declares is what is important. Funny though, your language is distinctly of the Arminian/Pelagian heresies refuted over 459 years ago, as it is today by the plain reading of the Texts of Scripture. You can't refute the verses I listed that unequivocally demostrate that regeneration is antecedent to faith & repentance. Regarding my teaching; you're currently being lovingly schooled.
@aTrueHybrid It's okay for you to assume I'm a Calvinist, but it's not okay for me to assume you're an Arminian? That mentality is also indicative of Arminian ideology. You can deny you're an Arminian all you want, but if you believe that 'regeneration' comes from any effort on your part, you are in fact an Arminian.. Also, it's quite conspicuous you have no cogent retort to how the verses I posted do not espouse 'regeneration' prior to faith when before we are dead in sin.
@aTrueHybrid All those passages do, friend, is prove the fact that regeneration must precede, hearing, faith & repentance. It is indisputable, unless YOU take them out of context, twist the meaning, & falsely state they don't say what they do say, & never prove anything with facts. Go ahead, prove they don't! Or, simply prove you're a typical Arminian that can never back up anything you say - just another windbag making vacuous assertion you can't back up! May God choose to have mercy on you.
@aTrueHybrid I'm not suggesting people receive the Holy Spirit before they believe, I'm asserting it as Fact from the Word of God as it states ubiquitously and unequivocally throughout: Eze. 36:22-27,John 1:13, John 3:3, John 6:44, John 15:16, Romans 8:11-17, I Cor.2:19-15; Eph 2:1-10 Gal.3:1-5, Titus 3:5-7, 1 Peter 1:2, Etc.
I pray you would be blessed in your study of His Word.
@SwordofManticorE you will know a false teacher not by how powerful he speaks but by the fruit of his labor. Paul Washer doesnt even do his ministry in America, he is in the most dangerous parts of the world where true believers in Jesus Christ are hated to to death. thats a man who has denied himself to follow Christ and preach the Gospel of GOD. Paul Washer is NO FALSE preacher. clearly Todd Bentley is because of the fruits of his labor he has been put to shame. i pray he repents
@Smokewunn According to PW in the first 10 mins of the video "Schocking Message" that if what a teacher teaches is wrong, then he is a false teacher. Now you tell me something else. I have to agree with PW about false teachers over you.
@Smokewunn According to PW in his interpretation of Matt 7, there are only two roads for christians. The narrow road to heaven and the broad road to hell, and he said that if what he is teaching is false; he is a false teacher. His interpretation of matt 7 is false.
What a shame to ruin such a wonderful testimony by adding to the Gospel the heresy that repentance must accompany faith. This is a lie from the pits of hell. SOLO FIDE <---- google it!!
What a downright shame. Repentance is a gift from God, it is NOT A MEANS TO SALVATION. it is the result of salvation.
Whoever posted this video needs to REPENT more than any drunk lying in his own vomit. What a disgrace you are to the Gospel.
Only God can grant repentance. I hope He does you.
"When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:37-38
Was Peter teaching heresies, because he commanded people to repent?
Yes, it is a gift from God, but it's up to you if you're willing to open it.
@xTHExELEVENTHxHOURx " but it's up to you if you're willing to open it." The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. No one decides for themselves NOT to believe or NOT to open a gift. Those that don't believe are simply those whom God has NOT given the gift of His Holy Spirit to soften their heart, and enlighten the mind to understand, accept, believe and repent. Those who believe & repent are those whom God has loved & chastened unto repentance & regenerated to know the truth.
Maybe I'm bad at explaining it. Yes God grants repentance. But when God commands us to repent in the Bible, we must do as he commanded us to. He'll grant us power to repent. I'm thinking that people who don't repent are in unbelief.
And by the way, Paul Washer preaches Gospel like the Bible says. FAITH ALONE in Jesus Christ. Works are the EVIDENCE of GENUINE FAITH. Sometimes people misunderstand him. Read James 2 if you don't believe Faith without works is dead.
@xTHExELE Yes, I know full well that faith that isn't demonstrated by works is no faithl. But this speaks to our sanctification not our justification. We are justified,or,are made righteous in the eyes of God, SOLELY upon Christ's substitutionary sacrifice & our faith (not of ourselves) in His redeeming work for us. That faith is then demonstrated by repentance & works which God has 'foreordained that we would walk in". Eph.2:10. I agree with you about Washer, but he needs to be more careful.
Oh, all right. We agree now. I think he's just preaching hard, because of so many deceived people. It sometimes leads some weaker, genuine believers(like me) to question if they're really saved. Looking upon Jesus Christ is the solution.
Btw, Paul Washer wondered in this video why his sermons on love never make it to Youtube. He says: "And sometimes on Youtube, I look like the meanest man who ever walked the planet" That's so true, lol. He's legit, just misunderstood.
messed up life or a life that is not is not the issue.in fact it may be harder for a rich or well to do man that may be in a worse way than a drug using drunk. the issue is that salvation cannot be manipulated by the preacher. i have sinned after believing and have seen His glory also. it is God that causes a man to stand or fall, He is not a respecter of persons. but as best as i can see without the preaching of repentance it is a sales pitch. peace to all
That was a great testimony by todd, i dont really know what kind of lifestyle he lives
but the words that came out of his mouth was good and i do agree that he should of mention repentance, and paul washer was great also as long as the truth is being preached im all for it.
At Exodus 4 24 God announces he is going to kill Moses! The leader of the Chosen People!
God chose Moses as leader so killing Moses would have been silly. A few verses on God changes his mind and lets Moses live. Moses' wife cut off her son's foreskin with a sharp stone just in time.
It's all there and much more in the Holy Bible. If you don't know this bible passage you don't know how daft much of the bible is.
Sounds like Todd Bentley is glorifying himself instead of God. The Bible says that signs, miracles, and wonders do not prove that someone is following God.
Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
...led to Christ? Probably not even in church the next day because there "decision" is an emotional, "every eye closed, with the music playing" psychological manipulative response. However, I do believe God CAN save people in this outreach event, but in spite of it(the weak gospel), not because of it.
The issue really is bigger than you think. Bentley's gospel is very wrong. It is so damaging to the kingdom yet it sounds so normal and right because it is the unbiblical way the gospel is preached in America today. Notice all the herecys: , "choose,"(Actually, God chooses-Jn. 6) "Let God in""he stands and knocks (totally out of context-talking about a believer here, not unsaved person)." You say, what proof do you have? Well, first, the Bible. Second, where are the million he led to...
No talk of repentance, and did you notice how Todd said that "he allowed" GOD to come into his life. In true Salvation one does not "allow" GOD to do anything, but instead, they totally surrender to HIM with a repentant heart.
He does not have or preach the True Gospel. That's what this whole video is about. People are under the impression that it is "their" efforts or acts that will get them saved, and that is not the Gospel. One must surrender to GOD and "accept" (not allow) what HE has done.
You are playing with words like every other desperate, lost spiritually vacant blind man. You talk in riddles and miss the point. These videos and the comments are just opportunities for the insecure to show their 'knowledge' or in your case their lack of knowledge.
I am not the first man to point out your vanity to you so don't pretend to be surprised.
Playing with words? Talking in riddles? Would it be easier for you if I drew you some pictures? Do you even know what the Gospel is? Are you a Christian? If not, the I suggest you defend something you know, not something you "think" you know.
@tony9L9L Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Matthew 11:20 Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. Mark 6:12 They went out and preached that people should repent. Luke 5:32 "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Luke 13:5 "But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
How do you know what I believe? You don't. But I'll tell you anyway.
I don't believe in paying Tithes. I believe Jesus did away with the Tithe when he did away with animal sacrifices and fulfilled the whole Law at the Cross. We have a New Covenant.
Tho I do agree with you that most Pastors use a combination of manipulation and guilt to persuade people to obey without question.
I pray that you will find God, one who is just as relevant today as he was 2,000 years ago.
Thanks for your reply, I think my big problem is I don't understand what sin is. I don't think I have done anything I would class as a 'sin'/terrible thing. Even if there is a god, I still don't see how questioning can be wrong.
@tony9L9L May the Holy Spirit open up your heart to the depth and depravity of the sin in your own life. May the Holy Spirit be merciful to cause your heart to be broken at the truth of how lost you are. May the Holy Spirit be gracious in bringing you to the cross of Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit open your mouth to cry for his forgiveness. May the Holy Spirit regenerate your soul to know what it is to cry, "Abba, Father" when you look to Jesus. All for the glory of Jesus Christ-Forever Mercy
After I read your kind message I prayed for a long time and heard God say "I am very pleased with you my son. You are a good man. Take your rifle and fishing pole and Mary-Jane and a few beers and go down to the creek and have a good time , you deserve it."
Hurray I have finally heard from God!!! Glory Halelujah!
Thank you my friend. I hope you hear from him to one day.
@blueskunk12 I did all that and more for forty years, are you suggesting I carry on? Life was no diferent whether you love God and give yourself or curse and blaspheme. It doesn't make ANY difference- nothing changes. Life stays a mixture of good and bad random events and we might not like it but it's the way it is.
Freud and Darwin are God.
The only change is you feel more alive and life is more precious when you embrace the fact that this is all there is.
Which is better, to love God and give of yourself, or to curse and blaspheme?
Here is the link to a poem I hope you'll read.
paradoxicalcommandments(dot)com/index.html
May the LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
I love Paul Washer. I love the fact that he speaks the truth of how we must grow in the grace we accept. How saying a prayer is just not enough. The man has an honest passion for God and His truth. Great video. I related so much, because I cannot pray without tears. Tears for past sins repented, for current sins I keep falling into, for the state of our world today, for so many things.
9But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you."
THE LORD REBUKE YOU!! Can we understand what that means!! Michael was speaking to the DEVIL and yet uttered not a blasphemous WORD.
THE LORD WILL JUDGE FALSE TEACHERS AND JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY!! AMEN AMEN AMEN.
What's so crazy is I've only seen the wild videos about TB but in this video I was actually moved by his testimony. There seemed to be something genuine about it! Just because he wasn't yellin out REPENT for the Kingdom of God is at hand!!...doesn't make it an apostate message..that's too legalistic my friends. That being said, the man is out of control in his methods and antics, Am I to expect God to tell me to kick an old lady in the face and she will be healed? May the Lord Rebuke my wrongs.
Wow, sure sounds like both of them were pouring out their hearts. Yeah, Paul Washers was very passionate. There is only 1 judge guys, JESUS!!! Not us as men, only JESUS!!! When I die are you going to be my judge or is Christ? Something to think about...God Bless Todd Bently and God Bless Paul Washer!
Yeah I have, last night actually... look at benny hinn vs paul washer video. I love how Paul explains these controversies and how we should approach them. Let's say I come to Christ after the speach TB gives in this video, I grow in Christ and come to understand my own interperation of what Scripture is saying to the best of my ability. I start to learn Biblical truth. i.e. Repentance. I feel that I so called repentented at the time TB spoke. I mean I've changed my life. My "works" have....
changed. Good works won't get me into heaven. Only by Grace through Faith have I been Saved right? Well, during TB's speech my FAITH was set into motion, I changed my heart(i.e turned from my sin), and put my trust in Christ. You going to judge that speech? It sounds to me he spoke of how messed up he used to be. How he onces was in jail, doing drugs, etc. How Christ saved him from that, so he recognized his own sin and that it was wrong, and that Christ was his only way.
I know i am not to judge. And i am not. But i can look at person's fruits and compare it to the bible and i can tell if he is on the right path or not. Do you catch the difference between TB and PW? Some of the principals that TB presents are unbiblical and its wrong to do that! Yes, God can use him but it doesn't mean he himself is on the right path. In russian KGB went out to preach in a mocking manner but God used even that for His glory and people repented.
God can use a gospel that is presented in wrong manner for His own glory, but it is not good for the person through whom it is done. Paul in the bible says something like this, saving others make sure u yourself are saved. You also know a place where Jesus rejects ppl who cast out demons and do miracles and healing in his name, but he tells them depart from me evil doers. Evil is this: not being conformed to TRUTH. Personally i see some things that TB does is not biblical, not conformed to truth
God said to Ezekiel: son of man, prophesy to the Spirit! He did and the Spirit blew on the dry bones and they came to life. This is the work in the last days, when God would write his law in our hearts and our minds, not by power or by might, but by His Spirit. and Jesus baptizes with the Spirit and gives life to the drought and the deadness in man's life. Jesus is your salvation, repent of your sins and believe in him for the forgiveness of sins and you will be saved!
God forgive me cause so many times i underestimate your salvation in me, i too many times take it for granted and far more many times i forget. but dont let it be that way. lead me on the path of righteousness, of a holy life, so that i may please in all I do. thanks Father for your love and your grace in Jesus Christ.. let this be enough! let this shine around through me, so that the world may see that you saved me!
you know, i love paul's testimony. he focuses on the work of Christ in His life. but what is this work about? Jesus saved him from a sinful living, which brought him so so distant from God. that is true repentance, when God does such a work in your life that you hate what you were before. but repentance is to be preached. people have to turn away from their wicked ways and confess they need Jesus to save them from their sinfulness. that is where holiness starts.
Two superficial boobs playing on the surface emotions of morons who wish to remain so by their own FREE WILL which was given to them them by Jahaveh. Both are ridiculous. So, what's the difference? Nothing.
from Joel 2: And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
Yeshuah is the promised Meshiach who baptizes with the Ruach and fire. John the Baptist gave this testimony of Him. He still does it today! Jesus is the Christ that all Israel is waiting for!
Lets see, who's wrong. The one who is trying his best to lead people to God, or the one who focused on his brothers actions? The one who is speaking on what God has/is doing or the one who is talking about what Christians are/aren't doing? If God allows a man to see his brother at fault, its so you can bless him and pray for him that he be reveled the truth not tell everyone what he has done wrong. Isn't that gossip? Jesus would never do that. Not saying your wrong, lest I do the same
At 1st I heard that from Jesus we can be FREE! YAY
But then from Paul I heard how we can be free & what we can be free from. I heard the love of Jesus beyond all understanding. I've also heard Paul speak before about turning from a life of sin & living whole heartedly for Jesus
No matter what you guys talk about after this, it ALL doesn't matter if you haven't removed the huge board of sin from your own eyes. Jesus & the disciples spoke of LIVING sinless repentant lives more than anything else
Paul Washer never mentioned anything about repentance. He only spoke of being saved by grace. it was Gods grace that saved him and that was enough. it was that grace and love and his realization of it that transformed him. there is a difference. one is trying to be a preacher and the other one met Jesus. the gospel of grace is not a gospel of repentance but of grace.
Nope. I don't see a difference. Okay, okay. The difference is that Paul Washer and Todd Bentley are different people. Was that it? lol.
But seriously, there is no difference. Their lives were forever changed by Jesus. They both came from addictions that could have killed them. They were both saved. What IS the difference? There is none. Ah... but of similarities there are plenty of. Jesus. That's the similarity. That's the only thing that needs to be said.
any believer in christ that does not judge everything is an abosulute idiot. no use in judging that which is already judged and in condemnation (any and all things outside of christ jesus). anything that is in christ that is not looked at through the measurment of scripture and the cross of christ is a thing that cannot be used. until a thing, that is said to be of christ, is passed through fire, cannot be used and is worthless
What is on display with these two men? As is true of thousands of other men and women that put FAR too much trust in things unseen, these are very typical displays of rampant narcissism.
Plant your feet on the ground, give up the voodoo nonsense and join in a genuine dialog with ALL people that are the SAME AS YOU! - please open your minds to logic.....
I still love Todd and hope for his 100% restoration. I pray God will restore Him as He restored King David. Yes he sinned, yes he fell, yes he made some big mistakes, no he didn't have the proper accoutability, yes he had hidden issues in his life. But I pray he is restored and will preach the gospel of the kingdom once again.
I myself am a charismatic but isn't it strange how Benny Hinn, Frank Houston, Kenneth Copeland, Todd Bentley, Ted Haggard, Paul Crouch, Bob Jones, Lonnie Frisbee, and John Wimber have all been caught in some sort of scandal - dealing with money or sex? Then you look at Reformed guys like MacArthur, Piper, Sproul, Mahaney, Ferguson, Washer, and others and they are as far as we can tell consistent with what they teach. Something to think about it. "You will know them by their fruits" <--scary
isn't it strange that the closer you are to the front lines of battle, you are more vulnerable to attacks? you really only fall if you don't surround yourself with people who have your back (armor of God; you have no armor on your back)
heck, look at Solomon, yet we love the proverbs and the book he wrote. honor what God did, not where they screwed up
the devil doesn't care about you if you're not threatening his kingdom. But he'll try to bite if you are destroying his works (1 john 3:8)
I agree that Satan will try harder to make you fall if you're in the front lines. But look back in church history... everyone of our heroes of faith have never fallen as badly (if at all) as Bentley. Even today, my personal heroes like John Piper and Tim Keller have yet to come close to falling. When comparing Bentley to other "respected" heroes of the faith, his personal life is simply a wreck and I do not want someone like him telling me how to be a Godly husband/father.
"everyone of our heroes of faith have never fallen as badly" - sin is sin in God's eyes.
correct me if i'm wrong... but it seems like you're saying, you only 'fall' if you sin and everyone finds out about it. but it's not a fall if no one knows.
It's interesting we didn't know about his personal life until everyone found out he screwed up.
It's unfortunate that we have more confidence in someone's history of failure than how much Jesus had confidence in someone's ability to change.
With all due respect, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Yes, sin is sin and any sin is a "fall." But all the men we respect in history have never had such gross public sins.
Jesus does not have confidence in our ability to change. All change is the Spirit's doing and is not of our doing (Ezekiel 36). But I don't think there's a point in debating with you. I am a charismatic myself but Bentley stretches biblical understanding of the ministry of the Spirit and his fruits show me that he is not the best leader to follow.
Umm... Samson may have a hero of Israel, but he was never someone that was to be looked up to or to imitate. David's example (with polygamy and as a parent) was so bad Solomon went and had hundreds of more wives than him and his son tore the kingdom in two. This list is pointless because they did not go through the same sanctifying process by the Spirit as NT believers do. Read Ezekiel 36 and the promise for future believers in causing them to walk in his statutes. The OT saints never had that.
You said, "But all the men we respect in history..." Well, I respect David (a man after God's own heart), and Solomon (wisest man to walk the face of the earth), Abraham (friend of God), Samson (bold as a lion), Judah (the one who was willing to give it all up to save his younger brother, Benjamin). Each of them had their flaws but they are in BIblical history and we look up to them as examples. And each one of THEIR sins was exposed... PUBLICLY.
Well u seem to be a believer so let's say I give you the benefit of the doubt with these men being "good examples." But wouldn't you agree there are men out there who have walked with God MORE faithfully and have proven themselves to be BETTER examples to follow than Bentley? After all, the world looks at Bentley and sees hypocrisy. They see men like John Piper as someone who really loves God and not $ (not saying Bentley loves $ more than God) even if he could be a millionaire bc of his books.
I see what you're saying. I haven't really looked into John Piper, but I have seen a couple of really good things about him. As far as TB goes, he's a good example, but just like all the rest of the Hall-Of-Faithers (Hebrews 11), they all made mistakes, so I don't follow the mistakes, but I look at what God saw about them. So, I won't knock TB because he goes out and evangelizes. Many people don't. In that regard, he is a great example.
He is being restored to ministry, ad Rick Joyner, and others are overseeing it. And they aren't going easy! They're being completely honest and cutting to the truth.
I strongly believe that Paul Washer himself would be angered by the judgment being made here. It is both hypocritical and a bad witness. To paraphrase Paul himself... How can you declare him to be a true man of God? Do you spend time with him in his daily, or do you see him speak on a stage? No. Your comparison between these men is made on the basis on how they appear in public. Now I agree; theologically at least Todd is misguided, heavily. But due to fear of blaspheming His Holy Spirit..
It is refreshing to hear what you wrote because i have seen countless videos of Paul Washer, and I think he is great and it is awesome how straight forward his approach is, but his fans and loyal viewers totally bash other evangelists. It is crazy to me, and sickening, to see my brothers and sisters in the Lord acting like hypocrites. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging them and saying how awful they are, but I am just flabbergasted by the videos and the comments made AGAINST fellow men of God
Todd had an affair at the height of his ministry... affairs just don't happen in an instant. It usually starts with other sexual sins creeping in first over a long period of time.
Paul has his own flaws but nothing that would make him unqualified as a teacher/leader based on 1 Timothy 3 (qualifications for elders and overseers).
I understand that fully; I myself believe that Todd was in grievous error. I just don't feel it's edifying to do this. If God chooses to reveal to Todd's followers that he was false, then there are more than enough ways for that to be done already. If God chooses not to reveal it, then it is His judgment against them.
Balance the word of God = Todd is currently a Ravenous wolf and from such we are to expose and turn away from.
Expose him lest many lambs fall prey. [Matt. 23:23-34]
Ravenous wolf destroy ones ability to grow in the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and can steal ones eternal soul thus lead to eternal hell.
[Father in Jesus name; I pray Todd turns from his wickedness and repents, claiming you as Lord of his life . That he be saved by the blood of the Lamb in Jesus* name .Amen.]
GO watch Bill Johnsons youtube video in response to Todds actions about certain individuals responding with a spirit of religion and a self righteousness.
What does that have to do with forgivness or seeing others as higher than yourself, having humility and a broken and contrite spirit. As the bible talks about? I don't sense that at all with you, instead I sense a pridefull, haughty spirit, self-righteousness that extends from sea to shining sea.
12 For the WORD OF GOD is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any TWO EDGED SWORD, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
16 Let us therefore come BOLDLY unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(said tongue in cheek)
mitchnicholscpa 2 months ago
Actually the reason why many people like Paul Washer once then after the stop liking his messages is that he travels around the world reforming churches who have gone off the path, or he is invited to preach in a church that brings in lost people. If Paul Washer had one church that he pastored he would not nee to preach like the way he does - I have been listening to him for 6 years and never walk away angry with him or feeling hopeless :) but always praising the Lord.
john11111ish 3 months ago
For example how often do you see washer raise his hands up and praise Jesus with a true joy filled smile ? I more see him pointing a finger at the audience and making a left right left hand movement across his body. To me it gets old, because after one repents of sin, they rejoice in the presence of God. And every time I hear washer, he is like a broken record, talking people down for what they aren't doing, and not encouraging them. I guess it works for some, just not always for me.
JesusinEndTimes 3 months ago

JesusinEndTimes 3 months ago
For example I don't always hear Washer speaking with joy. Or happy. He is a good repentance preacher, but I have seen "happier" people, not just constantly broken records speaking on the same subject. I am not advocating Bentley, just saying people do have different strengths and weaknesses.
JesusinEndTimes 3 months ago
Who are we to judge who is geniune ? I have backslid before, but earlier I was so in love with Jesus, filled with His Spirit. Since I have met others, of whom I cannot tell wether they had been of the Spirit or not. I could guess, I could not know. The true intentions of the heart, in the dark, alone, only God knows. I don't always agree with Washer. He had his own experience, people have different conversion experiences, the rest is doctrinal debates, personalities.

RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid What ever you term you apply to my language is irrelevant. The irrefutable Truth my language declares is what is important. Funny though, your language is distinctly of the Arminian/Pelagian heresies refuted over 459 years ago, as it is today by the plain reading of the Texts of Scripture. You can't refute the verses I listed that unequivocally demostrate that regeneration is antecedent to faith & repentance. Regarding my teaching; you're currently being lovingly schooled.
RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid It's okay for you to assume I'm a Calvinist, but it's not okay for me to assume you're an Arminian? That mentality is also indicative of Arminian ideology. You can deny you're an Arminian all you want, but if you believe that 'regeneration' comes from any effort on your part, you are in fact an Arminian.. Also, it's quite conspicuous you have no cogent retort to how the verses I posted do not espouse 'regeneration' prior to faith when before we are dead in sin.
RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid All those passages do, friend, is prove the fact that regeneration must precede, hearing, faith & repentance. It is indisputable, unless YOU take them out of context, twist the meaning, & falsely state they don't say what they do say, & never prove anything with facts. Go ahead, prove they don't! Or, simply prove you're a typical Arminian that can never back up anything you say - just another windbag making vacuous assertion you can't back up! May God choose to have mercy on you.
RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid I'm not suggesting people receive the Holy Spirit before they believe, I'm asserting it as Fact from the Word of God as it states ubiquitously and unequivocally throughout: Eze. 36:22-27,John 1:13, John 3:3, John 6:44, John 15:16, Romans 8:11-17, I Cor.2:19-15; Eph 2:1-10 Gal.3:1-5, Titus 3:5-7, 1 Peter 1:2, Etc.
I pray you would be blessed in your study of His Word.

Yes, it is a gift from God, but it's up to you if you're willing to open it.
xTHExELEVENTHxHOURx 1 year ago
@xTHExELEVENTHxHOURx " but it's up to you if you're willing to open it." The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. No one decides for themselves NOT to believe or NOT to open a gift. Those that don't believe are simply those whom God has NOT given the gift of His Holy Spirit to soften their heart, and enlighten the mind to understand, accept, believe and repent. Those who believe & repent are those whom God has loved & chastened unto repentance & regenerated to know the truth.
RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@RefutingSkellyism
God bless.
xTHExELEVENTHxHOURx 1 year ago
@xTHExELE Yes, I know full well that faith that isn't demonstrated by works is no faithl. But this speaks to our sanctification not our justification. We are justified,or,are made righteous in the eyes of God, SOLELY upon Christ's substitutionary sacrifice & our faith (not of ourselves) in His redeeming work for us. That faith is then demonstrated by repentance & works which God has 'foreordained that we would walk in". Eph.2:10. I agree with you about Washer, but he needs to be more careful.
RefutingSkellyism 1 year ago
@RefutingSkellyism

Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

He does not have or preach the True Gospel. That's what this whole video is about. People are under the impression that it is "their" efforts or acts that will get them saved, and that is not the Gospel. One must surrender to GOD and "accept" (not allow) what HE has done.

If you don't go to Church, maybe you can walk down the street and start going to the first Church you find.
If you don't volunteer, maybe you can call the first business you think about and ask if they need some free help.
If you see someone homeless with a sign, maybe you can put a dollar in his hand.
If you have a Bible, you can pick it up and start reading.
If you still don't hear from God, you can still spend a minute a day thanking Him for everything.

My "works" have....
rtpowell68 2 years ago
How Christ saved him from that, so he recognized his own sin and that it was wrong, and that Christ was his only way.
rtpowell68 2 years ago
I know i am not to judge. And i am not. But i can look at person's fruits and compare it to the bible and i can tell if he is on the right path or not. Do you catch the difference between TB and PW? Some of the principals that TB presents are unbiblical and its wrong to do that! Yes, God can use him but it doesn't mean he himself is on the right path. In russian KGB went out to preach in a mocking manner but God used even that for His glory and people repented.
Shek21YT 2 years ago

J0nDaFr3aK 2 years ago
God forgive me cause so many times i underestimate your salvation in me, i too many times take it for granted and far more many times i forget. but dont let it be that way. lead me on the path of righteousness, of a holy life, so that i may please in all I do. thanks Father for your love and your grace in Jesus Christ.. let this be enough! let this shine around through me, so that the world may see that you saved me!
J0nDaFr3aK 2 years ago
you know, i love paul's testimony. he focuses on the work of Christ in His life. but what is this work about? Jesus saved him from a sinful living, which brought him so so distant from God. that is true repentance, when God does such a work in your life that you hate what you were before. but repentance is to be preached. people have to turn away from their wicked ways and confess they need Jesus to save them from their sinfulness. that is where holiness starts.

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
Yeshuah is the promised Meshiach who baptizes with the Ruach and fire. John the Baptist gave this testimony of Him. He still does it today! Jesus is the Christ that all Israel is waiting for!

Let's see. Todd Bently has been taken out of the ministry. i wonder why? Maybe because he is not of God?
hargisP2 2 years ago
Lets see, who's wrong. The one who is trying his best to lead people to God, or the one who focused on his brothers actions? The one who is speaking on what God has/is doing or the one who is talking about what Christians are/aren't doing? If God allows a man to see his brother at fault, its so you can bless him and pray for him that he be reveled the truth not tell everyone what he has done wrong. Isn't that gossip? Jesus would never do that. Not saying your wrong, lest I do the same
eded123able 2 years ago
At 1st I heard that from Jesus we can be FREE! YAY
But then from Paul I heard how we can be free & what we can be free from. I heard the love of Jesus beyond all understanding. I've also heard Paul speak before about turning from a life of sin & living whole heartedly for Jesus
No matter what you guys talk about after this, it ALL doesn't matter if you haven't removed the huge board of sin from your own eyes. Jesus & the disciples spoke of LIVING sinless repentant lives more than anything else
tygew 2 years ago
Paul Washer never mentioned anything about repentance. He only spoke of being saved by grace. it was Gods grace that saved him and that was enough. it was that grace and love and his realization of it that transformed him. there is a difference. one is trying to be a preacher and the other one met Jesus. the gospel of grace is not a gospel of repentance but of grace.
fowzie777 2 years ago
same here. dont really see a difference. I dont think hes a false prophet, and im usually the very skeptical kind
danielpinto20 2 years ago

"You will know them by their fruits" <--scary
krnbeasty 3 years ago
Benny Hinn was audited on a federal level, and found out to be squeky clean!
KingdomVoice 2 years ago
Squeaky clean or not... he spends thousands of dollars on five-star hotels when many of his sheep can't even afford health insurance.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
isn't it strange that the closer you are to the front lines of battle, you are more vulnerable to attacks? you really only fall if you don't surround yourself with people who have your back (armor of God; you have no armor on your back)
heck, look at Solomon, yet we love the proverbs and the book he wrote. honor what God did, not where they screwed up
the devil doesn't care about you if you're not threatening his kingdom. But he'll try to bite if you are destroying his works (1 john 3:8)
whizzpopping 2 years ago
I agree that Satan will try harder to make you fall if you're in the front lines. But look back in church history... everyone of our heroes of faith have never fallen as badly (if at all) as Bentley. Even today, my personal heroes like John Piper and Tim Keller have yet to come close to falling. When comparing Bentley to other "respected" heroes of the faith, his personal life is simply a wreck and I do not want someone like him telling me how to be a Godly husband/father.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
"everyone of our heroes of faith have never fallen as badly" - sin is sin in God's eyes.
correct me if i'm wrong... but it seems like you're saying, you only 'fall' if you sin and everyone finds out about it. but it's not a fall if no one knows.
It's interesting we didn't know about his personal life until everyone found out he screwed up.
It's unfortunate that we have more confidence in someone's history of failure than how much Jesus had confidence in someone's ability to change.
whizzpopping 2 years ago
With all due respect, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Yes, sin is sin and any sin is a "fall." But all the men we respect in history have never had such gross public sins.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
Jesus does not have confidence in our ability to change. All change is the Spirit's doing and is not of our doing (Ezekiel 36). But I don't think there's a point in debating with you. I am a charismatic myself but Bentley stretches biblical understanding of the ministry of the Spirit and his fruits show me that he is not the best leader to follow.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
David.
Judah.
Moses.
Abraham.
Jacob.
Samson.
MtelH 2 years ago
The OT saints never had that.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
How about this list (after Pentecost):
Peter
Stephen
Paul
James
John
krnbeasty 2 years ago
Good list though! =)
MtelH 2 years ago
I think you're missing the point.
PUBLICLY.
MtelH 2 years ago
Well u seem to be a believer so let's say I give you the benefit of the doubt with these men being "good examples." But wouldn't you agree there are men out there who have walked with God MORE faithfully and have proven themselves to be BETTER examples to follow than Bentley? After all, the world looks at Bentley and sees hypocrisy. They see men like John Piper as someone who really loves God and not $ (not saying Bentley loves $ more than God) even if he could be a millionaire bc of his books.
krnbeasty 2 years ago
I see what you're saying. I haven't really looked into John Piper, but I have seen a couple of really good things about him. As far as TB goes, he's a good example, but just like all the rest of the Hall-Of-Faithers (Hebrews 11), they all made mistakes, so I don't follow the mistakes, but I look at what God saw about them. So, I won't knock TB because he goes out and evangelizes. Many people don't. In that regard, he is a great example.
MtelH 2 years ago
Amen! TB isn't perfect at all...and I don't know where he is at now, but he loved God before.
fiveeagles 2 years ago
Yeah, the fact is that no one is perfect.

Unw0rthy0fn0te 3 years ago
It is refreshing to hear what you wrote because i have seen countless videos of Paul Washer, and I think he is great and it is awesome how straight forward his approach is, but his fans and loyal viewers totally bash other evangelists. It is crazy to me, and sickening, to see my brothers and sisters in the Lord acting like hypocrites. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging them and saying how awful they are, but I am just flabbergasted by the videos and the comments made AGAINST fellow men of God

You need to read Paul Washer's new book "Deeper" brother...
Zonebone 3 years ago
Todd had an affair at the height of his ministry... affairs just don't happen in an instant. It usually starts with other sexual sins creeping in first over a long period of time.
Paul has his own flaws but nothing that would make him unqualified as a teacher/leader based on 1 Timothy 3 (qualifications for elders and overseers).
krnbeasty 3 years ago
I understand that fully; I myself believe that Todd was in grievous error. I just don't feel it's edifying to do this. If God chooses to reveal to Todd's followers that he was false, then there are more than enough ways for that to be done already. If God chooses not to reveal it, then it is His judgment against them.
Unw0rthy0fn0te 3 years ago
Im not defending Todd far from it..
I look at your; determination of affairs.
We can also consider an individual broken or shattered can fall
Also one spark can break a man; look at

Balance the word of God = Todd is currently a Ravenous wolf and from such we are to expose and turn away from.
Expose him lest many lambs fall prey. [Matt. 23:23-34]
Ravenous wolf destroy ones ability to grow in the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and can steal ones eternal soul thus lead to eternal hell.
[Father in Jesus name; I pray Todd turns from his wickedness and repents, claiming you as Lord of his life . That he be saved by the blood of the Lamb in Jesus* name .Amen.]
