How to Ball Your Anchor

Question,

Do you pull in the slack and get the anchor off the bottom first? I would be worried if the anchor was hung up before I took off and it was stuck I might jerk the cleat right off the boat. I fish off san Diego and commonly anchor in 100-120 feet of water and pull it by hand. It sucks!! I like your system.
