God Bless President Reagan for modernizing the Iowa class BB's. Proved it was viable for battleships in modern naval warfare. Unfortunately we can do much of the same roles with smaller missle frigates or crusiers. NOW- if we could just drop a nuclear power plant into an Iowa class to make it more economical to operate, well then......, oh well- dreams! At least America was the last nation with active battleships and we carries them into the new millenium!
What's the museum like? i mean, how much can you see above and below deck? My parents and I plan on going to see the USS New Jersey in Camden and the USS Intrepid in NYC this summer. And also, just as a personal question, what's your view on battleships in modern times?,what role do you think they could have today? if you would like to reply you could send it to me in a message because this is a lot to type in a comment.
@navyreviewer It was a comment made in jest ... after drinking some wine probably a bit too much. Please feel free to delete it, or keep it up. I thought it would just sound silly using schoolboy language to sum up one of the first modern arms control treaties.

The Washington Treaty was for fags. Real men would never abide by it.
