Dont get me wrong I started with a full tank of fuel but when I got to where I was going I was down to 1/8th of a tank.
Damn that was slow and you can outrun a chopper. You have to hit around 170mph to outrun the chopper, but there are quite a few cars that can hit this speed now.

haha not quite the zr1 has a specially designed magnetic IRS and agressive tread high grip street legal tires and carbon ceramic brakes that alow it to brake later in the turns. Dont forget it's lighter than a Beamer as well

Even the 250 hp Crown Vics are limited to 129 mph which is not much. You can check that from the Michigan State Police vehicle tests.

I take it the suspect ran out of gas, judging by just how long this pursuit was and the speeds he was travelling at. At 100+ mph you can't exactly drive a BMW like that for more than 2 hours without refueling.

@Railer505 actually you can. . not sure bout the american spec BMW's but when I lived in Germany and had my 93 5 series, I drove for 8+ hours at 120mph. That was my normal cruise speed. Dont get me wrong I started with a full tank of fuel but when I got to where I was going I was down to 1/8th of a tank.

Damn that was slow and you can outrun a chopper. You have to hit around 170mph to outrun the chopper, but there are quite a few cars that can hit this speed now.
