  • this movie was boring

  • eeyyy mistress. do ya fancy a shag? looool

  • WHAT SONG IS THAT.

  • @kierarosehatton the band is FEAR..the song is "living in the city"

  • England was nothing more than a big fucking American state! Union Jag is a fag!!!!!!!

  • i remember in school this kid who was all about punk rock said "what do you know about punk rock? have you ever seen slc punk"? implying that you don't know shit about punk until you watch it

yeah i watched it two years ago. are you enjoying your fad? what the fuck does watching movies have to do with punk? its the opposite fuckhead. ever seen "american hardcore"? way more bad ass and informative.

he ended up joining the military... fucking fagot ass tool. its a shame he didn't die.

  • @formusicplaylist1 fuck you

  • @LilPantyGirl

you too... what i mean by that is its a shame you haven't died yet

  • i went to san fransico and i was sad because i looked around and saw not one other punk than myself and my best friend

  • Best part is

Oh the sun never sets on the British empire well the sun never sets on my asshole! :)

  • i kept reading the subtitles, and I don't read Spanish

  • Ironically Mathew Lillard is explaining posers when he is in fact a millionaire movie star (Not a musician or a street punk) He's standing there telling people what punk is and who is a poser.

  • @lukewalter8987 He's doing this new-fangled thing called "acting".

  • @SuperMegaFl0yd ah...good one, really though im just pointing out people see this and take it with seriousness..but...whatever

  • @lukewalter8987 Well, the writer and director of this movie was an anarcho-punk back in his youth growing up in SLC. The movie is semi-autobiographical. Henceforth, why all the lines about posers are at least somewhat true. The writer and director knows his shit. Just saying.

  • @lukewalter8987 this was a movie he stared in. It's not exactly the opinion of mat Lillard himself

  • @kriss129009 thus my point all together

  • "Im not a fucking hick" best movie

  • what happened to shaggy? :(

  • one of my all time favs....what happened to mathew lillard? hes was brilliant in this

  • @deftones311100 he played shaggy in scooby doo

  • "we did it with more love!!!" 5 sec later "FUCK OF AND DIE" yea, so much love

  • Comment removed

  • EXHIBIT fucking A!!! [also posers look up punks on youtube :l (just sayin')]

  • that movie is awesome.

  • Fuck u!

  • Fuck punks

  • American Estate? LOL We colonized you anyway... :)

  • "Anarchy in the UK!" lol

  • @elo333333333 by the end of the movie, the main character realizes exactly what you mentioned. The whole movie is basically poking fun at the punk scene in a sarcastic way.

  • so funny watching this now realizing how fucking stupid it is hahaha

  • Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeearrrrrr!

  • Funny thing is this movie isn't even really about punk or what it is and that's what a lot of people don't get. People who consider themselves "punk" rly don't get it cuz their blinded by what they think isnt true punk. It's about life. He realized in the end there was no scene to stick to since he had nothing to show for his "punk" days. Life moves on whether you want it to or not, no matter what "label" u r.

  • at 0:58 a guy walks by wearing an Operation Ivy back patch. Op Ivy didn't exist until 1987.

  • this movie is so fucking retarded . Its like a Hot Topic version of the movie SUBURBIA

  • @gwarfan1point5 CLEARLY you dont understand the point of the movie!!!! maybe you should understand the meaning of the movie then comment :)

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE hahaha are you kiddint me little girl?? haha have you ever seen suburbia ?? this movie is the same thing only if it was a Disney movie . dont open your fucking stupid mouth if you dont know what you're talking about retard .

  • @gwarfan1point5 oooh old man still has pep in his step!! actually i know a lot consisdering PUNK MUSIC IS MY ROOTS!!!!!!!!!! ya know i dont know you but im getting the vib from you that your the "punk" that likes to go in circle pits and beat everyones ass. you seem like that kinda person. but thats not the point of em! and you wanna call me a "retard" i bet i could school your sorry ass. bec i might be a "little girl" but i know A LOT more that you thik! your so cute hunny ;)

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE haha , you trendy little hot topic cunts make me laugh . haha . circle pits and beating the shit out of people ?? " Thats not the point of em" ?? really ? haha you have no fucking idea what your talking about kid . and as far as schooling me ..... the fact that you are arguing the credibility of SLC PUNK over SUBURBIA pretty much seals the deal that you are clueless . run along princess , i hear Avril has a new album out . you have no idea what you're saying . dumb little girl

  • @gwarfan1point5 i have a pretty damn good idea actually! but i have a question, do you feel big and bad talking to a "little girl" like that? and really hot topic? thats an emo persons store i hate it haha grow up please! and understand the point of SLC punk! and im sorry ive seen SUBURBIA..its a stupid movie. but thats my opinion, but go ahead and cuss me out old man tell me what its really like. please im dying to hear what your fat ass mouth has to say! honestly people like you piss me off!

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE hyahahah , aaawwe , i wouldnt want to piss of a SLC pretty girl backstage pass punk who likes GLEE , haha . of course youy thought SUBURBIA was dumb and that SLC PUNK was good . because you're a trendy moron . "understand the point of SLC PUNK >?? the pont is to sell an image to a "Punk-o-rama" Generation .....like you . you have no idea. just like i thought

  • @gwarfan1point5 so what if i like glee!! my all time favorite band is Social Distortion, i have ALL of their cds and seen them so many times, and guess what?!? GOT IN THE PITS! i also like volbeat, fear, streetlight manifesto, gogol bordello and zeke...need i say more? no bec i dont need to be tied down to one type of music! and the point isnt to sell an image, hes saying (like he did at the end of the movie) that you dont have to act or dress a certain way for a type of music!!...DUMBASS!!

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE wow , its almost like you googled " how to listen to punk " and just bought the CDs that came up . haha . i saw VOLBEAT in toronto when they were nobodys . opening for the shitty 69 eyes . ans im sure there is a line or 2 in the movie that are relavant , but its still a cheese dick disney version of PUNK , just like you are . the same guy that says "you dont have to act or dress a certain way for a type of music" has gelled blue spiked hair and a lock chain on his neck ... haha

  • @gwarfan1point5 hahahahah really!! your such an ignerant ass! do you honestly think your right? bec you couldnt be more wrong..you act like a hard ass but not! i mean you call me a little girl when in reality your a little boy bec you think you can talk down to a 17 year old ( the 19 year old is my sis). you are so clueless it amuses me to the point of no return. so PLEASE keep running your fat ass mouth and keep making my day faggot bec i PROMISE i know my music!!!

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE you know trendy music . you play punk . like dress up . you have no idea what your talking about because you are a little kid , and like all little kids you think you are right but really dont know much of anything that you didnt google to learn . you call me ignorant ( thats how you spell it if you want to write it down for next time little girl) because i dont think that disney dress up punks are real ... haha im not acting hard kid . live it and then come talk to me .

  • @gwarfan1point5 i hate the trendy rock/punk music and the people to go with it bec they dont know what they are doing or talking about! i get in fights with people like that! i go see the underground punk music bec the "punk" on the radio are sell outs and isnt true music. so its funny how you call me "trendy" and a "dress up disney punk" but i hate trendy stuff and i def. dont dress it. and i dont have to "live" anything to know what i know. if you knew me you'd see i know my stuff but whatever

  • @SHAKEthatMONKEE haha if i knew you ?? haha i see bitches like you every day , at every show . haha fucking tourists . it solidifies my point that this shitty movie is geard towards trendy little 17 year old girls . because i have one defending it with "punk-0-rama" band references and " i got in the pit at a social D show " hahah what did you do ? fuckin slow dance ? ive seen social D 12 times . there arent really any pits there . its not that kind of music . you dont know what you're saying

  • @gwarfan1point5

    HAHAHAHAHA

  • i do like this movie, but this part is kinda lame. punk isnt punk becouse of just looks or just, attitude, or just beliefs, ya some have a certain fashion, but that has nothing to do with it; its a mixture of everything rolled into a one person....and lame asses calling other people posers isnt gonna help the scene. instead we should be schooling the so called "posers" on what punk is and help the scene grow.

  • @Oipunkrockgirl777 ello mistress do you fancy a shag?

  • @hardkoregamer999 - OH TOTALLY!!!!!

  • @Oipunkrockgirl777 Punk was an era. A period of time when music and sub cultures clashed. Punk can not be revived or passed on to the next generation. The original punk scene grew up and got older. No matter how hard you try, you won't be able to feel the way they did. Nothing wrong with enjoying the music tho.

  • @66ott7 - nothin from the past, like Punk, will ever be the same. Thats a fact. But the people/punk's ideas and beliefs from back then are very similar and greatly influenced the ideas of the people/punks of today. Its was a mentality, and still is. Its different from what it was originally, but thats just how it is. Wether you choose to title it punk or not is a whole different issue.point is people like this are still around so i'd like to say the scene is still alive and doing alright

  • @Oipunkrockgirl777 Posers are in it for the fahion don't you fucking see? Punk died and now and now the posers are gone. Wanna know why? Cuz there's nothing for them anymore! They pose as something else now! Punks about individual freedom and thought, not some fucking group brainwashing!

  • @Oipunkrockgirl777 that is exactly what the movie is about. He realizes when his friend died that he was nothing more then a "poser" himself.

  • @Oipunkrockgirl777 you do realize he made this realization at the end of the movie, right?

  • @elo333333333 Well that's the irony of the movie. In the end he finally realized he was a poser himself too.

  • i have part 1 and 2 on my facebook page

  • fuck punks and long live rednecks / skinheads lol

  • @LUNCHBOX2025 skinheads and rednecks are both fucking atrocious

  • @LUNCHBOX2025

  • The sun never sets on my ASSHOLE!!!

  • fucking love this movie, it's so fucking real

  • @MetallicSisters

    "ahem'

    SUBURBIA??????

  • -retarded voice- ANARCEH IN THA YOU-KAYY

  • his oscar? or his emmy?

  • where's his grammy?

  • Did he seriously just say "chav" or did I hear that wrong? O_O

  • what i dont get is how he says "I dont know who started & I i dont give a fuck" but then goes on about how they did it bigger&faster. -.- whats the point.

  • @SytrusISurtys those are totally different points. The fact that he said the US did punk "bigger and faster" has nothing to do with who started punk.

  • @WerewolfMorgue Yea, but you can see its bringing up more bs to piss about.

  • @WerewolfMorgue

So you missed the point entirely.... the part where he said prior to that was "... I dont care who started it, all I know is we did it... " paraphrased

  • @SytrusISurtys he's saying that it doesn't matter if punk rock music was started in the US or the UK. his point is that the US did it faster, better and with more love

  • I love how Heroin Bob is just quietly eating ice cream in the mall behind him; with sunglasses on.

  • I'm not a fuckin hick!

I swear i almost know this movie by heart.

  • @PUNKABILLYOi

Google videos almost has the full movie. The last fifteen or so minutes are cut out but you can find the last parts on youtube.

  • @MitchandNickGCN eeee thanks!

  • @PUNKABILLYOi megavideo

  • "hello mistress. do you fancy a SHAG?"

  • America!!! Fuck yeah!!!

Always do it with more love baby!!!

  • We did do it faster. NWOBHM (new wave of british Heavy metal) did it faster than English Punk, Then Thrash Metal and The LA Punk Scene Did it fast, too.

  • "We did it HARDER, We did it FASTER, and we definitely did it with more love BABY........ UUUGGGHHHH!!!!!"

  • 4 Posers did it for fashion.

  • Crass in my opinion were the greatest punk band out there.

  • This was me growing up dude. Rednecks in Colorado really hate punks/thrashers.

  • @Omnicron777 Exactly! The reason why I chose this position was because I realized not everyone has decided what system is right for them, so in a varied society people could simply experiment with different ideas to see what works for them.

True Communism/True Laissez Faire could be the perfect system, but neither of us could prove it to the world without them being tested in reality. Besides, if you really dislike my system it would be ideal to allow everyone to watch it fail and vice versa.

  • @Omnicron777 I'm not damning cooperation, I'm proposing allowing a community to community difference of opinions, if your neighborhood advocates communitarianism and mine advocates free market, what right do either of us have to impose our plans on each other? that is against the very idea of Anarchy

  • @Omnicron777 Indeed, I'm an individualist anarchist but don't think I'm here for a debate, I think need for the abolition of government is so urgent that any post collapse economic policy should be a secondary issue. basically I want a society where individuals may move from one ideological community to another to determine what is right for them. May I propose Anarchy Without Adjectives?

  • FUCK IM like the only real punx girl in utah... and im a anarchist.. uhg FUCK UTAH!

  • @TheCandyGirl58 what kind of anarchist?

  • @allwittynamestaken

    Anarchy-Feminist

  • @TheCandyGirl58 interesting, what other category would you fall under? (mutualist, socio, individualist, egoist etc.)

  • @allwittynamestaken ya probably individualist.

  • Anyone that just says their "Anarchists" are probably posers considering the wide variety and huge differences in ideologies so it'd be hard to be so vague, if they say they're "Anarchists without Adjectives" however, thats another story.

  • I don't understand how anyone over the age of twelve can like this movie. It's shallow, stupid, pointless, annoying, and just plain garbage.

  • @Thresholds Have you seen the whole movie? The moral of the story is that everyone grows up at one point. Go and watch the end scene.

  • @304754 Yeah, I've seen it. I actually thought that the closing scene was the worst part of the whole movie. It really made me want to barf. Anyway, yeah, this film caters to the twelve year olds.

  • @Thresholds Then you obviously missed the point of the whole movie.

  • @304754 No, I didn't miss the "point." What I'm saying is that the "point" is shallow, stupid, superficial, lame, etc.

  • @Thresholds Then what's shallow and stupid about it? Give me a specific reason and then maybe I'll respect your opinion a bit more.

  • @304754

Rebellious punk thinks that he's an authentic individual, fighting the system. Rebellious punk realizes that it's all a facade, that he's another replica of the "trendy posers" he hates. Not-so-rebellious-anymore-punk realizes that real change comes from within, not from without. Ex-punk goes to Harvard.

The Teletubbies is deeper than this generic crap.

I could care less whether you "respect" my opinion. I'm not replying in order to win your adolescent (?) favor.

  • Also, this movie is such an inaccurate representation of 80's punk, it's ridiculous.

  • @304754

And I also can't stand Stevo's whinny behavior and his incessant rants. I honestly think that there are more intelligent things to say about Hannah Montana than about SLC Punk. I'm not even sure that there's a significant difference between the two: they are both about the 'struggle' between poserhood, impractical ideals, and the realistic demands of ordinary life. Well, at least Hannah Montana doesn't pretend to be deep...

  • @304754

So, yeah, this move is for twelve year olds....

  • @Thresholds Congrats! You got the last word in a youtube argument that was 3 days ago! You can now sleep at night! Just drop it and get a life. Lulz

  • @304754

Wow, someone is pissed... Sorry I destroyed your little E-ego. I was just hoping you'd change my mind about this massive dump of a movie, but I should have known better. And, for the record, you're the idiot who persisted on turning this into an argument (and now into insults).

Anyway, I'll stop responding now that I know I won't get anything out of this. So, yes, last words are mine: fuck you, loser.

  • @Thresholds Lol. I'm not pissed. I jusst pointed out that you most likley have no life since you insist on typing a paragraph for a reply. And no. You're not going to change my mind about this movie. Regardless of what people think of it, I still love it. And yes, I am aware I replied with almost a paragraph. Oh well. Cheers, mate.

  • @304754

Right. If by "don't have a life," you mean "no significant other, no job, no education, no friends, no future," then I'd have to say you need to rethink how much you can actually learn about a person on the basis of a youtube post.

Anyway, about the movie, you're not alone. Most people like this movie. So, don't worry, you're cool by the poser's standards. I can only hope your taste will improve with your age, but I just really don't care.

    Cheers, yeah.

  • @tedkissel dude the sex pistols opened for the clash get your info straight

  • This makes me love and hate living in salt lake.

  • <3 this movie

  • Comment removed

  • 1.Ramones started punk rock they were around before the Sex Pistols

2.Posers definition-Kevin "K-Fed" Fedderline, Robert "Vanilla Ice" Van Whinkle, The Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, Justin Timberlake, Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hanson, Spice Girls, Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black, New Kids On The Block

  • @tedkissel douchebag the monks in germany started metal and punk simultaneously.

then the clash in the uk

years before the ramones sold out on purpose.

  • @TOXIC00L

    Still

    Ramones est. 1974

    The Sex Pistols est. 1975

    The Clash est. 1976

  • @tedkissel actually the ramones sold out at the start they were pop rock.

The Monks early 1974 then the ramones(sellouts by choice) then the pistols then the clash(gradually sold out)

  • @tedkissel You're kidding. Even in this video it bashes people who argue about who started it and you're still arguing!! Fucking dumbasses

  • @SuperMegabar well in the end the point is that guy(the director) was a trendy assed poser in his punk phase.

back in slc and then he decided to make movies.

this was a movie bout his phase so stuff it.

  • @tedkissel improvised list K-Fed(backup dancer), Rob Van Whinkleit was 94,

TBB, 98 Degrees, nsync(boybands began and ended with them),j timberlake, Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera(all disney), Hanson(posing as what boys who look like girls?),

Spice Girls(pop group dipshit), Jonas Brothers(the new hansen), Justin Bieber(ask usher whose posing thats cash), Rebecca Black(you mean the new chick who does slam poetry music?

, New Kids On The Block boy band.

  • @tedkissel you have no clue what youy are talking about kid.

lmfao what were they posing as?poseur every rap group besides nwa, icp, wu tang and public enemy.

and the ramones started the trend known as

"selling out for american pop rock"

  • @TOXIC00L ICP is fucking white trash bullshit.

  • @PeaceSells100 actually you bigot arsehole retard all music in the mainstream is white trash bullshit since thats the requirement for record label execs.

to flatten a point the gathering is mostly white kids that grew up in the same areas as the black folks who listen to rap and other types of music just like icp did growing up in Detroit.

  • @PeaceSells100 to answer your ignorance you are calling every other member of their fanbase Asians Indians middle eaastern civies south americans and black folks. see tuned it on ya.

  • @TOXIC00L Dude, uh. Might wanna lay off the tina for a little bit so I can actually understand what the fuck you're trying to say.

  • @PeaceSells100 ok ill dumb it waay down for ya.

icp are a couple of poor dudes who grew up in the Detroit ghetto not white trash.

eminem grew up in the trailer park trailer park=white trash.

now their white fans are well mainly fucked up but most of their fanbase is worldwide and not stuck on a racial basis.

in other words shut yer bigot short sighted arse up.

  • "WELL THE SUN NEVER SETS ON MY ASSHOLE"XD stevo is amazing. he's my future husband haha

  • crass did it louder, harder, faster and with more heart than most of the American punk bands ive ever heard

  • @KantorekBaumerB14 and the monks invented it woo.

  • i love livin in the city

  • the monks started punk metal and techno/electronica in germany back before tv had color.

  • I think Ramones started punk, but I don't really give a fuck.

  • @metaller8 the monks started punk metal and techno/electronica in germany back before tv had color.

  • fuckin' love that line!

"Who cares who started it?!?!?!?! It's music.

    I don't know who started it and I don't give a fuck..."

  • To everybody below... shut the fuck up. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • The moral of this movie is all punks are poseurs. Punks are too dumb to realize this though.
