Jill Sobule - Ritalin Kid / Bitter

My 22 yr old son died last Nov 2009 from an overdose of Ritalin (Methylphenidate). He was diagnosed with ADD at age 12. He was an excellent student until his 2nd year of college when he starting dropping classes and spiralled out of control. He tried respiratory therapy school and dropped out. He went voluntarily for treatment in Houston at Memorial Herman Park (PaRC) who kicked him out after 8 days of detox and 2 weeks of in patient. 7 days later he died. I am trying to help others.

@xXSky0Xx Please don't do that. Go to an emergency room or call 911 and tell them you need help you are thinking of killing yourself and others. You are like a young butterfly if you can make it thru your teens your 20s will be a blast, and it keeps getting better until you get older like me and your body starts falling apart. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Take care little butterfly. You are going to be a beautiful butterfly soon.

This is pretty funny. I love her. I took Ritalin for a while in Middle School. That stuff sucks. I will not ever let a Doctor give me that shit again!

Jill has a very nice voice, she really helped me through some tough times, but then I heard how much her life sucked. Clever little songs, the one that helped me the most was this song,Bitter, and Big Shoes.

Yes, but Ritalin can be very effective for those of us who really do have ADD. It's a serious medical condition that can cause major stress if left untreated.

@macychick : I never got it, will never take it, I really know, that i have ADD, though no doctor ever told me. But I like no medicine, to make me calm or whatever effect that medicine will have.

I got psychopharmaca over more than 10 Years, which don't helped me, but really had bad effects.
