    That's an interesting grip/style on the bones. Traditional Minstrel? some other origin? You're own invention?

  • It's a grip I acquired around 5 years ago. No, it is not the traditional minstrel grip. Essentially, it is the "Irish" (two fingers between the bones) grip. In this video, because of the fast tempo, both stationary bones are choked way up high - and the one in my dominant hand is kinda perpendicular. Usually, though, the stationary bone in my dominant hand is choked down, while the stationary bone in my other hand is choked up. BTW, I do have minstrel era images which indicate a two-finger grip.
