@zorboth The point of running it more than one time is to minimize the luck factor. For example, if someone is a 2 to 1 favorite to win the hand on the flop and the get in all in the middle, they may run it 3 times. This is because 2 out of the 3 times the man who is the 2 to 1 favorite should win. If they were to run it just once, the dog may draw out that one time, but running it three times, the favorite will likely win the next 2 runs if he were to lose the first.

@zorboth reduce variance. also by shoving there patrik can pick up the 100k a lot of the time. its still a risky play since he could be way behind and the other guy might not want to run it more than once. however, once both realize its a flip, thy might not want to risk 500k but rather reduce variance.

In my opinion Samy just gambling, just imagine, Patrik got set, when he is push half a million in. Or Aces, and it was him, who pre flop 3 betting. His range eassily could containe 99 and even pairs 99+, Ofcoursed AJ of diamond, but I doubt about, that Patric would be gambling with draw like Farha. But great play, a little bad end for Sammy.
