When I was 16 I watched this concert, which is entitled Live in Tokyo, I believe. Coincidentally, it was also the first time I got high. At the time I was digging music and fooling around with the guitar. After that all bets were off! Music opened up into a much larger universe and I'm still exploring it today.

You're telling me this video is using Mixolydian? He may use the flat seventh occasionally, but... I mean come on. He uses the pentatonic, which outlines the Major Scale. Sometimes he goes a wee bit outside the box and adds the flat seven in, but this is all pentatonic.
because there is no f# in e minor pentatonic (taaking away the f# from Gmajor) would leave you with the same notes in a different order, outlining each other.
trying to cram in as many notes/picks as you can in a second isn't impressive... doesn't even sound great. Take Randy Rhoads for example... the shit he was doing at any given moment, with any given sound he could produce out of his guitar gave off the impression/feeling that he was "taking you" for a ride at any speed/emotion he decided. When I was 16 I watched this concert, which is entitled Live in Tokyo, I believe. Coincidentally, it was also the first time I got high. At the time I was digging music and fooling around with the guitar. After that all bets were off! Music opened up into a much larger universe and I'm still exploring it today.

trying to cram in as many notes/picks as you can in a second isn't impressive... doesn't even sound great. Take Randy Rhoads for example... the shit he was doing at any given moment, with any given sound he could produce out of his guitar gave off the impression/feeling that he was "taking you" for a ride at any speed/emotion he decided.
