During the 1800's and 1900's even photo albums were made posing the deceased child with living family members. There was a compassion of this era that is not represented much anymore.

The dead child is sent to the morgue or funeral home. Prepared and perhaps shown during a public or family service. This commercial system treats they deceased differently.
