In the context of this show, it's what the druids call him, and the name Morgana knows her magical nemesis by (not realising it's Arthur's servant.) In some versions of the Arthurian legend, the character we know as Merlin is called Myrddin Emrys.

they are both amazing actors. the way they play their roles. no matter if they have to be sad, funny, confused etc they do it perfectly. and i love when they have to play their roles differently. like old Merlin, simpleton Arthur, assasin Merlin and in-love-with-Vivian Arthur. or donkey Arthur :D. they both always do such an amazing job. these not-quite-themselves-roles always make me laugh
