The US train specifically for open enviroment combat such as desert and loose foliage and leave urab encounters to armed police groups such as SWAT.
Australia makes use of Commandos and SASR soldiers not stationed overseas by putting them in Tactical Assault Group (TAG) East and West instead of forming a team similar to SWAT. (Although STAR group and the like exist)
wot do the us army do if there attaking a town or a city fly in the local swat team all armies are trained in urban fighting and clearing room to room as well as rural warfare
Regular army depends entirely on budget and troop numbers. While countries such as America have the greatest military might and hardware. the united states marine corp was formed on november 10, 1775 by captain samuel nicholas. the sas in 1941 by david stirling. i think the sas rock, dont take this post the wrong way, and yes almost all urban counter terrorism combat tactics, and cqb tactics have either been taught by, or stolen from the sas.
@DAV19800 the marine corps is a poor mans version of the royal marines, as we saw in full metal jacket when a fat bastard joned. it is not a special forces unit but a specialised amphibious infantry unit, just lke paratroopers who are specialised parachute-deployed infantry.neither are special forces so your comparison is wrong. they usgay marines are older, but they are not special forces like delta force, navy seals etc which are also fairly new like sas

BUT the key difference is that the USMC operates far more like our Royal Marines, in that they are deployed as a fighting force not as a Special Forces unit. the USMC are the hardasses of the US Armed forces. just like our Royal Marines are the hardasses of ours.

The marines and rangers are not counter terrorism units. What he's talking about is counter terrorism and cqb squads such as the SWAT, certain battalions in the NAVY SEALS and other counter terrorism units, but yes you are correct the SAS is the best spec ops force in the world.

I am not currently serving in the commandos or SAS to clear up an biases.
There is no point trying to express an opinion and claiming you are part of of a SF group while using offensive language and showing you don't know how to construct a sentence. There is an intelligence phase in selection :D

The US train specifically for open enviroment combat such as desert and loose foliage and leave urab encounters to armed police groups such as SWAT.
Australia makes use of Commandos and SASR soldiers not stationed overseas by putting them in Tactical Assault Group (TAG) East and West instead of forming a team similar to SWAT. (Although STAR group and the like exist)

Regular army depends entirely on budget and troop numbers. While countries such as America have the greatest military might and hardware. As someone earlier correctly posted that there has never been one "Football team on top of the ladder forever" This applies with all things in life. The BRITISH SAS were the first and did lay the foundation for Global special forces however SEALS are primarily a naval force SF. Completely different situations.
Several commonwealth countries have adopted a "second tier" SAS, Australia for example.

the united states marine corp was formed on november 10, 1775 by captain samuel nicholas. the sas in 1941 by david stirling. i think the sas rock, dont take this post the wrong way, and yes almost all urban counter terrorism combat tactics, and cqb tactics have either been taught by, or stolen from the sas.

@SR0Penne0Brillo actually, the USMC has been around since around 1775, the SAS has only been around since the second world war. BUT the key difference is that the USMC operates far more like our Royal Marines, in that they are deployed as a fighting force not as a Special Forces unit. the USMC are the hardasses of the US Armed forces. just like our Royal Marines are the hardasses of ours.

They were nice enough to risk ships and pilots to help out, when the japs bombed the americans it was inevitable they went to war in europe because of the japanese and nazi allegience. What's really interesting about the American Revolutionary war is the numbers that Britain was outnumbered by and the huge body count for the Americans.

i'm not bothered what you've read, JTF2 isn't as similar to the 22nd as everyone often assumes, this is the same way in which 1SFOD delta aren't the same as the regiment. books and movies can say a lot of things, wise wisdom often knows better.
