I want to get into balisongs, and Im wondering which would last longer to practice with: an Ellington Trainer or this black BaliYo. Do you think the BaliYos are durable and will hold out longer than an Ellington Trainer? Because The Ellingtons supposedly do not last more than a few hours

@RyanMcPwn Well, from what I heard, the Baliyos are terribly light, and while you can practice the maneuvers on them, Ellington trainer knives are weighted more correctly and provide a more realistic practicing tool.

Basically, if you learn a trick on the Baliyo, you're probably gonna have to completely relearn it on a real Balisong because of the immense difference in momentum and weight.

I'm just wondering.. how do these compare to real balisongs? I want something to practice with that's actually legal in california, and I was thinking about getting one of these.

@buttercow12 I used these when I was in school, During class you can hide it pretty well but generally I dont flip during lectures or lessons, just be respectful, Alot of times I would actually explain to them what it was and they seemed pretty okay with it.

@YayILikePie it can handle the fisher space pen refills from the other baliyo's. If you really need to, you can buy this one and then just buy a space pen refill directly from baliyo so you know it will fit.
