actually, pre christianity, the female was honored above the male, or they were equal.

There are still some cultures which do honor a godess and the females are sacred and treated very well. Even without the worship of a godess, some cultures treat females well, just because it is the way they feel it should be. Everyone should be treated well and equal. No One, individual, race, species or being, animal or plant, is any better than another, but only different.
