I'm 45 now,but knew @ 5 being born as male that my mind & body were @ odds with each other.

There was no harmony between the 2 till my mum & sisters came around @ 8

Just wish we had the internet back then,not to mention caring,loving,supportive true friends & the community in general.

The child needs therapy, not skirts, not dresses. The parents should not accept their child as a girl, they should do their job as parents and GUIDE the boy to be a boy, since that's the way HE was born.

It's not so simple as that; there's hard evidence that gender (as opposed to sex) is "hardwired" in our minds. See the case of a boy whose penis was accidentally burned during circumcision. They decided to remove it and raise the baby as a girl. But despite everything he never accepted it, became suicidal. The same thing happens to transgender kids who get forced the other way. It's not to say that we should force them either way but only they can decide who they are for themselves.

Gender is culturally-defined, not hardwired. Our culture defines what is manly and what is feminine. A child needs to learn the value in being their born sex. Most often TSers or TGers find fault in their own sex, and that is the problem. Each sex has their own values, so if a child finds a terrible fault in being a boy or a girl, then the child needs therapy, not a sex change. A person has a much greater chance at obtaining happiness by 'learning to love themself', not by mutilation.

And what's manly and feminine is based on the invidual. Many guys can think that pink is manly and black is feminine.

If they force their child to be a boy then she will hate them and be very depressed for the rest of her life. My therapist told me that there is nothing wrong with me being Transgender. Trust me you do not force anyone to be who they are not.

I saw a doc on WETV Secre lives of women and they had a man who changed into a woman and he lived like that for 19/20 years. Now he lives back as a man. Removed the breast, the hair, the makeup all of it. He said he grew out of it. He no longer felt as if he were a woman. He's still gay but he's living what he is.

Children are more accepting when it comes to some things. It is the parents and the community at large who can't seem to understand. My heart goes out to each of these children for facing the ridicule at such a young age. But like them, we adult TG go through almost the same problems these children face. Often times, we were forced due to fiancial means to grow up in the wrong body. These children have a more likely chance of fixing their mistakes now than later. I am transgender (mtf).

Are you stupid? Did you even watch the video? These kids were born as the wrong sex - it's like being born disfigured. Wouldn't you want to do something about it is you had, say, a blob of flesh hanging out of your face? It's how being transgendered people feel; like there's something horribly wrong with them and they want to change it. And once these kids get to high school, they're probably going to be bullied. The mom has nothing to do with it, it just happens.

I feel sorry for these kids because its a parents responsibility to give their child identity. Parents guide their children through life and model responsibility and identity. These parents have told them lies. They are not girls, they are boys...They're being bullied at school and its all the parents fault.
