  • I've read Detour. It's long, dull, and Cheryl only touches extremely briefly on the murder. It gets kind of interesting when she discusses her relationship with Josh, but it fades away fast. Poor Cheryl.

  • And now she has published another book.A murder fiction book.

  • @hulyadurrani , well, Cheryl was tall (about 5'9), and Stompanato had a chronic liver ailment that would have killed him in a few years.

  • @hulyadurrani yeah because if you are a mobster metal knives don't go through your skin. its like you are bullet proof..eyes rolling.

  • @arther1045 moron, i know that. He could have defended himself somehow being stronger than her. u dont stand there and let her stab you. spare me for stupid answers

  • Don't care who killed him.IF he was beating on one.......He should have been umped immediately; but that is hindsight and the homicide is justified.

  • I feel so very sorry for Cheryl. Johnny put both her and Lana in a very bad position that day. If a child hears what they perceive as a credible threat against their mother, and they are the only one there, I can see why she took the knife up to protect both women - was she supposed to just guess if he was going to act on his threats? Justifiable homicide was the right outcome - he had a mob mentality. If the daughter didn't step in then, he may have hurt Lana or Cheryl later on anyways.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • Stompanato was a fucking mobster. It doesn't matter which one of them actually killed him. The only think that matters is that one of them did, and it was too long coming. If Cheryl killed him, she deserved an award of her own. It should be open season on assholes like him that abuse the country's justice system and get away with murder several times over before they finally go too far and get what they deserve.

  • wheres Crane today? She should be awesome movie- Come on get the rights.

  • Lana had ADD and narcisissm.

  • The mother did it and he may have been banging her??

  • What a nightmare the Stompanato scandal must have been for Lana & Cheryl. Imagine being a fourteen-year-old terrified for your mother's life because she got entangled with a dangerous gangster. Cheryl & Lana survived a lot & I'm glad they were close when Lana passed away. Both of Cheryl's books are very well-written. The picture they show that is referred to as Cheryl's father Steve Crane is actually Hollywood lawyer Greg Bautzer. Other than that, great presentation.

  • @Muirmaiden Why did Lana need 7 husbands for. Why does Lana always wear sunglasses inside a building?

Do movie stars and celebrities defecate ice cream and urinate holy water? If she was not a celebrity but just a working girl would the judge let her off so easy? Huh. You tell me. From what I read in the tabloids at the supermarket checkout celebrities are still mostly all slobs.

  • @norb1937 , what does the amount of husbands Lana had have to do with this situation? Stompanato was a mob henchman who was physically and verbally abusive, threatening to kill Lana, her daughter and her mother. It was ruled justifiable homicide - Cheryl was afraid for her mother. She has no reason to try to cover up for Lana as conspiracy theories try to suggest. With her mom gone, she has no reason to lie about stabbing the creep. Celebrity or not, this was justifiable homicide.

  • Cheryl's books 'Detour' is wonderful and well-written. I bought her coffee table book about her mother "Lana" and she signed a bookpalte for it. She's a very nice woman.

  • I haven't read Cheryl's book, but I would like to.

  • I know this was before I was born, but I have read up all the news reports and I'd have to say, she was protecting her mother and what she did was justifiable. I have also read Detour and all I can say is you are a serious survivor. Now I am awaiting to read the new book.
