What is wrong with our economy? China, because nothing is made here anymore. In 1955, the US made 2.5 billion dollars and now? It's about a million. Why so much money? Because steel mills were open, and detroit was busy. Now former booming coties are sleepytown, USA I had to move to alaska to live my life normal
If you understand inflation, and if you understand the video, then you will understand why they do that, because in Zimbabwe, money isn't worth anything, it costs like 30 million to buy a bread, all because the high inflation, it's cheaper to use money instead of buying toilet paper.
For a while banks in my local area have made it almost impossible to withdraw your money. Anything over $1,500 and you have to give the bank a weeks notice. Now they are straight up telling you to get lost if you even try. And now they are charging extra to pay for your bills in cash. They are taking money out of circulation.... for those who are metally challenged this means that the Zimbabewe economic models is on the fast track here in the US.
Im English so admitedly I dont know exactly how the Credit crunch is hitting the US but I am an economics student so I can tell you the recession is being played on by the media to make it seem much worse than it is. The crunch wont hurt the US anywhere near as much as you say it will. All it will do is push unemployment up and shrink their market and economy by probably 8-9% before it starts to grow again.
If the US population is 320 million... and only 6% will have the means to feed themselves when food becomes this expensive and scarce what do you think will happen? Along with all the disgruntled people who have had their entire life savings go up like a fireball.... I"ll give you this... at least you are looking into the future optimistically.
instead of working in a mill like my grandfathers did. (read comment before this one first)

In Zimbabwe it is cheaper to wipe your ass with a 10.000 bill then buying toilet paper.
(But the government says it is illegal to do that)

are you kidding? Who would waste money using money to wipe their ass?

I remember a quote from Ludwig von Mises that went something like this:
"Goverment is the only entity that can take a useful product like paper, slap some ink on it and make it utterly worthless."

Notice: The Zimbabwe government redenominated the ZWD again on February 2, 2009 at a rate of 1,000,000,000,000 old ZWD to 1 new ZWD. 1.00 USD
1.00 USD = 294.180 ZWD
