My brother and I were used to play this game a lot. We always start from level one and keep fighting until we encounter this boss. We tried to beat him but we couldn't. we tried countless times but we couldn't manage to overcome this boss. So, I looked up you tube for this particular battle and I was amazed because I thought it is impossible to beat this boss.

How do they kill him? On my ROM, Shredder starts blinking after getting ~40-50 hits, and regenerates instead of dying afrer 40 more.

he took time to get defeated cos he kept using the jump kicking....

if he hit him alot with his special attacks or normal hit with the staff he wud die earlier...

the jump attack is weaker than the normal one.

I have this pirated version of this game and it has a glitch where Shredder gets all his health back when you had him beat. Of course I could never beat him and I was like, wow, this guy is badass!

I've got a pirated version of game too, so I too couldn't beat Shredder no matter what. However, it help train to the day, when completed normal version of MP.

In the pirated version not only Shredder is immortal, but every single enemy has more lives, then they have in the normal game. Because of that, normal version of game was like a cakewalk to me. ;(

I stiil wish someone hack MP and create version where enemies will have increased life.

Well, the theme playing in this battle is called "Tatsujin" if I recall correctly. I remember that the game doesn't specify a title for Super Shredder's theme though.

In TMNT3 Shred's music is indeed Tatsjin, S. Shred might be called The Final ShellShock, since its the same theme used for the TMNT4 Super Shredder for the snes anyways..hope that helps.

DAMN! I remember spending many a night playing this game with my friends. After beating the Shredder here, I thought I was the shit for finally beating the game after my 1000th try. lol .... that was until Krangs FUCKING spaceship had to appear and Shredder's bitch ass ran away! I was soo freakin' pissed!! lol ... but at the same time glad it wasn't over yet.

of course Shredder fights dirty. Though the difficulty of TMNT 1 is notable as the whole game while TMNT 2 was based off the arcade so you gotta save your credits and play defensively. TMNT 4 somewhat the same but TMNT did make him more of a balanced badass.

This is the only Turtles game of which Shredder fights fair! TMNT (uses a mutagen gun and his regular attacks take almost half your life....but he's easy as s**t to defeat). TMNT 2 (uses clones and uses a lightning bolt to demutate you...that f**kin' cheater). TMNT 4 (uses a mini ship and footsoldiers try to keep you away from the Shredder...you must use the third-person throw attack to ruin Shred's mini ship). Shredder is such a pussy!!!!!
