  • @Ostatebuckeye11 I doubt that this was meant to be racist. I think it's more about not being ignorant about someone's culture, or in this case, eating sushi. I also wouldn't do those things anymore now that I know. People who really like sushi want to eat it the 'right' way - shows they care about honoring that culture. Imagine a bunch of ignorant people treating something you love like garbage, I bet you wouldn't be able to tolerate that either if it really mattered to you.

  • great video. though i found that using the whole sheet turned out to be a better option, as i just rolled the excess sheet into the maki. so really the sheet was double layer around the rice.

  • @TheLisang Honeslty it's best to start with heat-cooked meat like Crab or shrimp. that tuna..(although they originally freeze it to the put to where it kills all the bad bacteria) will probably not give you food poisoning but it may give you a stomach ache because your digestive tract may not be attuned to that type of sushi prepared meat or fish. ( seaweed, rice, crab and/or shrimp, avocado and/or cucumber) enjoy. ya just must get passed the seaweed texture and small odor. np for me. i love it

    The mat is called a bamboo mat. You can get them in 99cent stores.

    I am going to make four types of Sushi myself in the next day or so. This Japanese lady is very helpful.

  • @mojala4 It is a bamboo mat. Most supermarkets (in my country anyway) sell them, they have a range of sushi ingredients with instructions on the back so you can experiment. I am going to replace the tuna with a vegan friendly ingredient :-)

  • Well at least it was informative, but ya the reporter either doesn't eat sushi often or was actively trying to insult the chef (unlikely). The peices of sushi looked a little big but maybe thats just an optical illusion or something. Either way it looks great and I can't wait to try it.
