gentlemen with all the respect tae kwon do its an excellent martial art but as you can see its uselles against a proffesional fighter of kick boxing if you fight in the ring no fancy moves and you must know boxing its 3 arts they count boxing hands muai thai kicks bjj at the floor mixed this 3 and you can fight everyone everywhere

What's wrong with this picture, video? You have supposed ITF TKD guys, a martial art of Korea, yet all JAPANESE GUYS in ITF uniforms w/ Korean lettering in JAPAN fighting Ubeda, strictly using competition techniques, eg. short distance ITF guys throw a clumsy ax kick, begging to clubbered by a punch. Talk about a setup for failure, or was this intentional by the Japanese to marginalize a "Korean" martial art. I call it a bullshit on this. Put Ubeda in N. Korea to fight a real ITF figher.
agree that tkd lads not the greatest while ubeda is/was a world top ten kick/thaiboxer.I wouldnt expect any tkd fighter to stand up with him though, hes not even using lowkicks or knees.
The name of the kickboxer is Perry Ubeda. A Dutch Kickboxer. In this video he is representing Chakuriki Gym from Amsterdam and is coached by Tom Harink.
He is also a kickboxer, not just tae kwon do fighter. In kickbox he never lost. He won 48 fights and never lost. I know because he is my teacher and I think there is many people who can tell you the same.
This is what i have to say.....[ IT IS NOT THE ART!!!!! IT IS THE PERSON THE MAKE R BRAKE THE ART] so i know thay have to be a great tdk pratisoner out there. Sooooooo stop the beefing of the arts.
Uhm wow, the tkd guy look like he was alil over weight and needs to train his body before he matches up with a kickboxer....too many martial artist done lift weights, run, and do flexibility training
Now I'll look bad when I do TKD. Lmao. And I'm not a black belt yet (only brown T_T), which makes me look even worse. Caution, i can kick ass lower than me XD
whats going on here? the TKD guy is getting owned! stick Ron Sergiew or Warren Vice in there. i'm not saying these TKD guys arent any good, but they seems a bit slow compared to a lot of other fighters i have seen
at my ITF place the guy kind of puts a little bit of mauy thai and mma in our ITF thing. The training is hard and he expects a lot. I think the korean guys are most used to going for points but here in canada and USA they just wanna beat them up
in tkd u need to use combo kicks! not just thorw a foot out there then back away! if u throw a kick and they hit u then u spin and thorw another kick!

Why do tkd people always make excuses when their guys lose. Korea has such a great boxing scene in the lower weight classes. ITF & WTF need to force their fighters to take up boxing so they can at least take a punch. These itf guys are completely chinless.
When a thai loses against a TKDer they also start with excuses. Although I agree with u that the guys in this video are chinless (and that punches should be pushed more in TKD)
I don't make excuses for MT stylists losing against boxing, sanshou, kickboxing, savate, etc. There's that one video of a TKD guy beating a "Thai fighter", but I genuinely think it's fake and I could write you an essay on why.
yeah, I know that one and I admit it is not a Thai fighter... I don't think the fight was a fake though, but the style of the other fighter is a style, dunno the name now, tell u later.
Name me one muay thai champion who has loss to a TKD fighter. TKD is not of the same caliber as muay thai. TKD for the most part is practice for hobby. Muay thai on the other hand is practice as a profession for the most part. Watch a muay thai match then watch a ITF match you can tell right away on who is the pro and who is the amature.
your point is very strong... in ITF you don't get paid for getting your ass kicked, that's why it is an amateur sport, but then again it is not the style but the way of training... do a search for lukasz jurkowsky he sure fights like ITF with groundwork, but more focused on MMA and you can't say he sucks that bad(he's still training as well)
just another bad show by some idiot who knows shit about TKD and TKD people seem to forget evweryone knows the TKD kicks and uses them so TKD people should learn how the fuck to aply what they know,, fuck TKD people make arses of them selves over and over!!when will they learn
Nonsense. TKD guys are pretty much limited to kicking above the waist. That's not enough to mount an offense, and they don't know how to defend against punches. It's not that they don't apply what they know, they simply don't know enough.
what are you talking about??you just said im wrong and you said the same thing they dont know tkd and dont know how to aply it! Tkd has punches and other hand techs but the guys rely on pushing kicks too much, never side step and just make tkd look bad
I disagree. TKD doesn't have any hand techniques to speak of. The might have punches and whatever in their grocery list of "official" techniques, but if you don't train a technique, you don't have it. And there's more to punching than just sticking your arms out anyways. It takes a lot of practice that TKD guys just don't do.
punching air? not in combination? you might as well not train them at all. I'll let you in on the great secret of martial arts: Technique is peanuts. Application is everything.
But one technique at a time and not in combination, and you don't use it in sparring?
Do you think Nakawa CHEESESTAIN here can't hit a target? Techniques are easy to learn, applying them isn't. I'm sure this guy has broken boards with a variety of hand strikes, but it didn't do him any good in the ring.
Do you think your hand techniques could hold their own with a boxer?
i didnt say one at a time.. we do them indivdually in basic routine. but with targets and sparring we train in combinations... and yes i can hold my own with a boxer. plenty of boxers come into our gym.
but i dont know how itf taekwondo does it... but for taekwondo competition training i admit we focus on the feet and not the hands very much but during any other time its a good mix i'd say.
ok with this comment you convinced me that you don't have idea of what your talking about, where do you live, in a cave?... search for Joanna Paprovka Lukasz Jurkowsky, Tomaz Barada Stephen Tapilatu, Katya Solovey, etc... ITF TKD does use hands.
Grow up people. There have been so many ITF taekwon-do people who have often entered and become champions and world champions in kick boxing. They generally dont wear their Taekwon-Do uniforms but kick boxing outfits. One example is Tomaz Barrada... People often attack tkd because it is a obviously a threat why not bother attacking all the other arts out there.
the world is watching today when korean tkd superstars like yong soo park enroll in muay thai gyms (kaewsamrit in park's case) after being beaten by average thai fighters *half* their size! budding K-1 fighters like Hiroya is also being sent to a muay thai gym in thailand and most serious professional stand-up fighters look to muay thai today. name me ONE professional TKD fighter who earned his living through fighting and fighting alone?
besides, tomaz baruda's HL video really didn't demonstrate that he had very polished or powerful skills either! i mean for his time, and for TKD.. yes, maybe.
i suppose he is too old now, but anyone of equal calibre and weight wouldn't make it past K-1 Max's national levels today. if he did make it to the international arena, he'd be shredded by people like buakaw por pramuk who operate at that level.
i looked tomaz baruda up. it seems he *participated* in pro competitions sometimes. that's not what i'm talking about. i'm talking about pro athletes, like professional boxers who use their sport as their only means of subsistence. for every "pro" TKD fighter, i'll show you a *generation* of Muay Thai fighters who depended on this sport for a living. only the most effective techniques will earn you your bread in the ring, my friend, and those are the techniques that get handed down.
It makes sense for people entering K1 to cross train. I have also been asked and have helped some Muay thai and vale Tudo guys because they see a valid use for TKD especially when they battle with getting kicked in the head etc. All martial artists worth their salt
respect and aknowledge the usefullnes of other martial arts.
I totally agree with you, even capoeira is worth . But braggers like goedesick who think they know a lot about MArts just because they watch lots of MMA fights on youtube tend to think that Brazilian Jiujitsu and Muay thai are perfect martial arts
yeah, tkd (ITF & WTF) are so crap they are the fastest growing and most modern international arts around.
the problem is that these videos of very good kick boxers are taking on amateur TKD black belts, there are so many dangerous black belts in every tkd group that never get noticed by negitive outsiders...
we ve got one in our team, that has beaten 3 blackbelts (all he fought) and hes just green yellow.
By the way,i won my matches against blackbelt taekwondo cup winners, too! i just hate the fast taekwondo point competition...I think the dangerouse taekwondo useres are the same opinion as me
Perry, je bent niet voor niks uitgekozen tot Nijmegenaar van het jaar! Ik kom zeker weer een keer bij je trainen in Nijmegen, voor mij blijf je de nummer 1.
TKD is garbage....ive done both TKD and Muaythai (lived and fought in thailand for over 2 years) and real muaythai would destroy TKD anyday of the week.
no no no. i usually just ignore these silly videos and comments about who kicks ass and who sucks, but i really must say that the tkd guy CERTAINLY wasn't a good fighter, and his sparring was far from real tkd. i don't know where he had bought his costume. i hope that u won't judge the whole art because of him. THAT WASN'T GOOD TAEKWON-DO!!
It Wasn't TKD!.I like people going sooo wrong. How they can think a Martial Art,this case TKD ,w/ many more types of kicks and better quality .Hands also, can be lower than kickbox!KickBox is 4 kicks and like 4 punches.Obviusly the crappy fighters on the Martial Arts , these days allow shit happens!Luckly I practice the old school!
i hope all this true fighters who always comment with he sucks and he sucks, once will upload videos of their own, showing us all how much better they can do. but if you are not able to do this please shut up. and about MA vs MA people who have a bit of experience (not only in front of computer) know they have to respect every martial art, cause in every martial art you will find people who are strong and who kick ass.
To all of you I don t care who this guy is. There is no way you can watch this fight and think "wow look at those gay moves" The guy he fought was like a fucking sack of shitty spoiled potatoes. His kicks and punches are not impressive at all.
tottally agreed,I do practice taekwondo ITF,and i saw the world champion,it was hundreds of times better, one of those guys didn't even know hoy to punch, swinging arrounnd his arms like an idiot, thats not taekwondo ITF...the other one,NEVER whent to te sides or tried to anticcipate the atacks, that where easy to read,a real taekwondo champion would have done that because the kickboxer left a HUGE space in his defense whe he kicked,
besides the firs guy in the video was a coward, he kept running and running until the other guy got him, didn't throw a single punch and didn't anticipate
Ah, I don't know what to say about this one.

Yeah, gay hands.

Grow up people. There have been so many ITF taekwon-do people who have often entered and become champions and world champions in kick boxing. They generally dont wear their Taekwon-Do uniforms but kick boxing outfits. One example is Tomaz Barrada... People often attack tkd because it is a obviously a threat why not bother attacking all the other arts out there.

the world is watching today when korean tkd superstars like yong soo park enroll in muay thai gyms (kaewsamrit in park's case) after being beaten by average thai fighters *half* their size! budding K-1 fighters like Hiroya is also being sent to a muay thai gym in thailand and most serious professional stand-up fighters look to muay thai today. name me ONE professional TKD fighter who earned his living through fighting and fighting alone?
geodesicks 4 years ago
Juras, and tomaz barada used to
muyrenerd 4 years ago
ah, and olmost forgot, yong soo is wtf, not itf
muyrenerd 4 years ago
besides, tomaz baruda's HL video really didn't demonstrate that he had very polished or powerful skills either! i mean for his time, and for TKD.. yes, maybe.
i suppose he is too old now, but anyone of equal calibre and weight wouldn't make it past K-1 Max's national levels today. if he did make it to the international arena, he'd be shredded by people like buakaw por pramuk who operate at that level.
geodesicks 4 years ago
i looked tomaz baruda up. it seems he *participated* in pro competitions sometimes. that's not what i'm talking about. i'm talking about pro athletes, like professional boxers who use their sport as their only means of subsistence. for every "pro" TKD fighter, i'll show you a *generation* of Muay Thai fighters who depended on this sport for a living. only the most effective techniques will earn you your bread in the ring, my friend, and those are the techniques that get handed down.
geodesicks 4 years ago
Tomaz Barada won:
6x ITF European Champion, 3x ITF World Champion and 3x King of Taekwon-Do Tokyo.
6x WAKO European and 5x WAKO World Champion.
And he also was champion of K-1 Slovenia.

Cage Rage champion with 9-1-0

It makes sense for people entering K1 to cross train. I have also been asked and have helped some Muay thai and vale Tudo guys because they see a valid use for TKD especially when they battle with getting kicked in the head etc. All martial artists worth their salt
respect and aknowledge the usefullnes of other martial arts.
norkick1 4 years ago
I totally agree with you, even capoeira is worth . But braggers like goedesick who think they know a lot about MArts just because they watch lots of MMA fights on youtube tend to think that Brazilian Jiujitsu and Muay thai are perfect martial arts
sagagossard 4 years ago
yeah, tkd (ITF & WTF) are so crap they are the fastest growing and most modern international arts around.
the problem is that these videos of very good kick boxers are taking on amateur TKD black belts, there are so many dangerous black belts in every tkd group that never get noticed by negitive outsiders...
tkd14wilson 4 years ago
exactly!
we ve got one in our team, that has beaten 3 blackbelts (all he fought) and hes just green yellow.
By the way,i won my matches against blackbelt taekwondo cup winners, too! i just hate the fast taekwondo point competition...I think the dangerouse taekwondo useres are the same opinion as me

TKD is garbage....ive done both TKD and Muaythai (lived and fought in thailand for over 2 years) and real muaythai would destroy TKD anyday of the week.

Oh yes this anecdotal evidence is conclusive!

The tkd guy was garbage. He didnt take advantage of the openning.

let them judge as they are! MASS MUST go WRONG thru history!Kitos!
hthtyun 4 years ago
no no no. i usually just ignore these silly videos and comments about who kicks ass and who sucks, but i really must say that the tkd guy CERTAINLY wasn't a good fighter, and his sparring was far from real tkd. i don't know where he had bought his costume. i hope that u won't judge the whole art because of him. THAT WASN'T GOOD TAEKWON-DO!!
aldhitroll 5 years ago
It Wasn't TKD!.I like people going sooo wrong. How they can think a Martial Art,this case TKD ,w/ many more types of kicks and better quality .Hands also, can be lower than kickbox!KickBox is 4 kicks and like 4 punches.Obviusly the crappy fighters on the Martial Arts , these days allow shit happens!Luckly I practice the old school!

maier66 5 years ago
i hope all this true fighters who always comment with he sucks and he sucks, once will upload videos of their own, showing us all how much better they can do. but if you are not able to do this please shut up. and about MA vs MA people who have a bit of experience (not only in front of computer) know they have to respect every martial art, cause in every martial art you will find people who are strong and who kick ass.
suriyaclaus 5 years ago
To all of you I don t care who this guy is. There is no way you can watch this fight and think "wow look at those gay moves" The guy he fought was like a fucking sack of shitty spoiled potatoes. His kicks and punches are not impressive at all.

no shit... you deserve the pulitzer for this comment
sagagossard 4 years ago
tottally agreed,I do practice taekwondo ITF,and i saw the world champion,it was hundreds of times better, one of those guys didn't even know hoy to punch, swinging arrounnd his arms like an idiot, thats not taekwondo ITF...the other one,NEVER whent to te sides or tried to anticcipate the atacks, that where easy to read,a real taekwondo champion would have done that because the kickboxer left a HUGE space in his defense whe he kicked,
Ryudamaru 5 years ago
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Within your heart you know muay thai is much better.
Djonasz 4 years ago
in my heart i know have beaten muay thai fighters before.....
