  • Ah, I don't know what to say about this one.

  • how come the tkd guy always fall, this tkd guy suck, itf is more useful on the street, that kd just suck. kickboxing is only for sport and ring fight, can only go one on one

  • looks at his titles!

  • @superfootcolin

I think you forgot to mention this fight

this was an ITF Taekwondo open world championship in1995/96? and Perry did won by knocking out 3 opponent of his 4 fight and become a first person out of tkd that won that event

  • pfft.. only reason why he won is the tkd guys suck, he just overpowers them. He doesn't have superior techniques. That is why noone has ever heard of this idiot kickboxer. I'd like to see him go against someone from the Korean Tigers team. lol

  • it's not because YOU never heard of him that he's a nobody...

just look at ubeda's career, and then come again. Meanwhile please shut up and do some research about people you're talking about

    Kind regards

  • humillasion. el problema no es ganarles el problema es segirlos por tanto tiempo.

  • gentlemen with all the respect tae kwon do its an excellent martial art but as you can see its uselles against a proffesional fighter of kick boxing if you fight in the ring no fancy moves and you must know boxing its 3 arts they count boxing hands muai thai kicks bjj at the floor mixed this 3 and you can fight everyone everywhere

  • does't have to be those exact ones but yes it needs to cover all those areas. that kickboxer was truely amazing in all honesty. but TKD is efective when adapted to the streets. i know doormen who use it.

  • Barada and Yilmaz are both best ITF fighters. They're the real deal. No fancy kicks from them.

  • true but try fanc kicks are half the fun in a ring fight not real fight a failed kick can mean disater if u can pull a 540 of in a ring fight every one goe wild cuz it looks cool lol

  • That is not the true ITF TKD, that was only competitive tkd tha usually dont use hands, and oh man that tkd fighter was reaaly bad.

best put Yilmaz Serkan on it.

  • NO!!!

Its Itf and what you mean is Wtf.

    Itf use hands

  • correct, although some wtf schools use hands too

  • what i like about fighting sports is after the fight they don't hate each other and there are no hard feelings unlike a sport like soccer where they hat each other because someone almost bumped in to them.

  • this teakwondo ka is shit...

put in someone that acyually knows how to roll.

  • just goes to show that kickboxing is better than taekwondo

  • BS statement-Just goes to show that this Kickboxer is better than that TaeKwonDo practitioner....

  • What's wrong with this picture, video? You have supposed ITF TKD guys, a martial art of Korea, yet all JAPANESE GUYS in ITF uniforms w/ Korean lettering in JAPAN fighting Ubeda, strictly using competition techniques, eg. short distance ITF guys throw a clumsy ax kick, begging to clubbered by a punch. Talk about a setup for failure, or was this intentional by the Japanese to marginalize a "Korean" martial art. I call it a bullshit on this. Put Ubeda in N. Korea to fight a real ITF figher.

  • agree that tkd lads not the greatest while ubeda is/was a world top ten kick/thaiboxer.I wouldnt expect any tkd fighter to stand up with him though, hes not even using lowkicks or knees.

  • i think in tk-d itf would be nice if lukasz juras jurkowski is more great to beat this guy

  • This kick-boxer is better than this teakwondist...but that doesnt mean that kick-box is better than TKW in general...

P.S.: The sound in this vid is totaly fucked up...

  • yeah i think barradda would d beat this guy

  • Porra, põe uns merdão desse representando o ITF... Até eu bato nesse bigodinho ae.

  • Perry Ubeda?

  • What name the kick boxer ?

  • The name of the kickboxer is Perry Ubeda. A Dutch Kickboxer. In this video he is representing Chakuriki Gym from Amsterdam and is coached by Tom Harink.

    Kickboxing rules ;-)

  • Perry Ubeda

  • i wanna see the kick boxer vs tomaz barata

  • Barada is also a kickboxer not just Tae Kwon-do fighter.

  • barada is a light contact fighter not a kickboxer and he wouldnt stand a chance v a thai style fighter his size and experience

  • He is also a kickboxer, not just tae kwon do fighter. In kickbox he never lost. He won 48 fights and never lost. I know because he is my teacher and I think there is many people who can tell you the same.

  • I believe he only fought light contact kickboxing though.

  • That's a black belt in ITF???

Jesus, I would be ashamed to have him representing my teaching if I was his instructor.

Does he even know basics like how to block a kick?

    Maybe he's drunk? haha!

  • @openminded2

    open minded?

the fact Perry won at 1st place at that ITF tkd world championship open 1996

  • This is what i have to say.....[ IT IS NOT THE ART!!!!! IT IS THE PERSON THE MAKE R BRAKE THE ART] so i know thay have to be a great tdk pratisoner out there. Sooooooo stop the beefing of the arts.

  • Wtf is with tkd? Really do not like it.

  • Uhm wow, the tkd guy look like he was alil over weight and needs to train his body before he matches up with a kickboxer....too many martial artist done lift weights, run, and do flexibility training

  • of course tkd is going to lose...good thing he didnt fought a muay thai fighter hell fukin kill him

  • ok get a better itf representtative

  • If you wanna watch a decent ITF vs kickboxing match search up Tomaz Barada.

  • it assumed that the tkd guy should be better in kicks than the kickboxing guy but .....??? bad tkd representative

  • tkd always practices running backwards,

    look how good he is

  • I go to an ATA academy and we have brown belts

  • brown doesn't exist in tkd

    ITF, GTF or WTF

  • exists in wtf go check

  • good movie 2bad about the skippy sound

  • WTF. Stop making IFT TKD look bad.

Now I'll look bad when I do TKD. Lmao. And I'm not a black belt yet (only brown T_T), which makes me look even worse. Caution, i can kick ass lower than me XD

  • You might wan't to check how legit your school is. There isn't a brown belt in TKD.

Red belt it like Karate brown belt, but there isn't brown in TKD.

  • haha tkd guy sure is the best tkd can do hahah tkd rulz

  • does the tkd guy really know tkd?

  • this guy knows the same taekwondo as a duck

  • I know perry ubeda a bit personal, the ITF guy was very bad.

  • the jap taekwondo guy's a noob.the other guy seems to be more capable with his legs than the itf guy.worst itf guy ever seen.

  • whats going on here? the TKD guy is getting owned! stick Ron Sergiew or Warren Vice in there. i'm not saying these TKD guys arent any good, but they seems a bit slow compared to a lot of other fighters i have seen

  • at my ITF place the guy kind of puts a little bit of mauy thai and mma in our ITF thing. The training is hard and he expects a lot. I think the korean guys are most used to going for points but here in canada and USA they just wanna beat them up

  • What is it???

The taekwondo dont know ???The Guard!!!The idiot down a guard, idiot!

  • I the TKD guy's name NAKAWA CHEESESTAIN?

  • itf guy. stop moving back, and throw combo kicks

not just 1 at a tym.

  • in tkd u need to use combo kicks! not just thorw a foot out there then back away! if u throw a kick and they hit u then u spin and thorw another kick!

  • Back in the 70's when karate became kickboxing, karate point fighting champs were getting ko'd left and right by jorneyman boxers so they sucked in their pride and learned to box. Thats how fullcontact came to be. But too bad for them that muay thai was just about to hit.

  • er... yeah, references?

  • Check out the rules of full contact(american rules). It's called the 8 kick rule. In this rule you must throw 8 kicks in one round or you get penalized. They did this to get rid of the boxers. These no name boxers were knocking out the top karate fighters of that era without ever picking up their legs to kick. All of that mystic karate crap went out the door when faced with real boxing skills.

  • again you're not giving me much of a reference... and what about bill wallace or the jet urquidez. Like in the university, tell me the full reference, please.

  • Why do tkd people always make excuses when their guys lose. Korea has such a great boxing scene in the lower weight classes. ITF & WTF need to force their fighters to take up boxing so they can at least take a punch. These itf guys are completely chinless.

  • When a thai loses against a TKDer they also start with excuses. Although I agree with u that the guys in this video are chinless (and that punches should be pushed more in TKD)

  • I don't make excuses for MT stylists losing against boxing, sanshou, kickboxing, savate, etc. There's that one video of a TKD guy beating a "Thai fighter", but I genuinely think it's fake and I could write you an essay on why.

  • yeah, I know that one and I admit it is not a Thai fighter... I don't think the fight was a fake though, but the style of the other fighter is a style, dunno the name now, tell u later.

  • Name me one muay thai champion who has loss to a TKD fighter. TKD is not of the same caliber as muay thai. TKD for the most part is practice for hobby. Muay thai on the other hand is practice as a profession for the most part. Watch a muay thai match then watch a ITF match you can tell right away on who is the pro and who is the amature.

  • your point is very strong... in ITF you don't get paid for getting your ass kicked, that's why it is an amateur sport, but then again it is not the style but the way of training... do a search for lukasz jurkowsky he sure fights like ITF with groundwork, but more focused on MMA and you can't say he sucks that bad(he's still training as well)

  • sit I answered like a retard... What I meant is that the style is a new one originated in korea. the thai fighter is not a thai

  • that TKD guy fought like shit man.. he was a noob

  • just another bad show by some idiot who knows shit about TKD and TKD people seem to forget evweryone knows the TKD kicks and uses them so TKD people should learn how the fuck to aply what they know,, fuck TKD people make arses of them selves over and over!!when will they learn

  • Nonsense. TKD guys are pretty much limited to kicking above the waist. That's not enough to mount an offense, and they don't know how to defend against punches. It's not that they don't apply what they know, they simply don't know enough.

  • what are you talking about??you just said im wrong and you said the same thing they dont know tkd and dont know how to aply it! Tkd has punches and other hand techs but the guys rely on pushing kicks too much, never side step and just make tkd look bad

  • I disagree. TKD doesn't have any hand techniques to speak of. The might have punches and whatever in their grocery list of "official" techniques, but if you don't train a technique, you don't have it. And there's more to punching than just sticking your arms out anyways. It takes a lot of practice that TKD guys just don't do.

  • i agree with that, they dont train the hands enough!!

But Tkd is 65% hands but as it scores less points the guys dont bother

  • actually official wtf kukkiwon classes the first thing after warming up is 10 to 15 minutes of nothing but hand tecniques....

  • Yeah, but how do you train the hands?

  • blocks, middle punch, high punch, palm strike, spear hand strike, knife hand strikes... usually that.

  • punching air? not in combination? you might as well not train them at all. I'll let you in on the great secret of martial arts: Technique is peanuts. Application is everything.

  • well i was refering to basic routine..... afterwards target training is done. srry my fault

  • But one technique at a time and not in combination, and you don't use it in sparring?

Do you think Nakawa CHEESESTAIN here can't hit a target? Techniques are easy to learn, applying them isn't. I'm sure this guy has broken boards with a variety of hand strikes, but it didn't do him any good in the ring.

Do you think your hand techniques could hold their own with a boxer?

  • i didnt say one at a time.. we do them indivdually in basic routine. but with targets and sparring we train in combinations... and yes i can hold my own with a boxer. plenty of boxers come into our gym.

  • Whatever you say then. :)

  • what do u train in by the way?

  • MT.

  • but i dont know how itf taekwondo does it... but for taekwondo competition training i admit we focus on the feet and not the hands very much but during any other time its a good mix i'd say.

  • ok with this comment you convinced me that you don't have idea of what your talking about, where do you live, in a cave?... search for Joanna Paprovka Lukasz Jurkowsky, Tomaz Barada Stephen Tapilatu, Katya Solovey, etc... ITF TKD does use hands.

  • Yeah, gay hands.

  • I see you're very *intelligent*

    Bravo!

  • who doesnt know what they're talking about.

  • duude hes wearing a itf suit.. hes not wtf

  • Grow up people. There have been so many ITF taekwon-do people who have often entered and become champions and world champions in kick boxing. They generally dont wear their Taekwon-Do uniforms but kick boxing outfits. One example is Tomaz Barrada... People often attack tkd because it is a obviously a threat why not bother attacking all the other arts out there.

  • the world is watching today when korean tkd superstars like yong soo park enroll in muay thai gyms (kaewsamrit in park's case) after being beaten by average thai fighters *half* their size! budding K-1 fighters like Hiroya is also being sent to a muay thai gym in thailand and most serious professional stand-up fighters look to muay thai today. name me ONE professional TKD fighter who earned his living through fighting and fighting alone?

  • Juras, and tomaz barada used to

  • ah, and olmost forgot, yong soo is wtf, not itf

  • besides, tomaz baruda's HL video really didn't demonstrate that he had very polished or powerful skills either! i mean for his time, and for TKD.. yes, maybe.

i suppose he is too old now, but anyone of equal calibre and weight wouldn't make it past K-1 Max's national levels today. if he did make it to the international arena, he'd be shredded by people like buakaw por pramuk who operate at that level.

  • i looked tomaz baruda up. it seems he *participated* in pro competitions sometimes. that's not what i'm talking about. i'm talking about pro athletes, like professional boxers who use their sport as their only means of subsistence. for every "pro" TKD fighter, i'll show you a *generation* of Muay Thai fighters who depended on this sport for a living. only the most effective techniques will earn you your bread in the ring, my friend, and those are the techniques that get handed down.

  • Tomaz Barada won:

6x ITF European Champion, 3x ITF World Champion and 3x King of Taekwon-Do Tokyo.

6x WAKO European and 5x WAKO World Champion.

And he also was champion of K-1 Slovenia.

  • Zelg Galesic is also another ITF fighter to talk about

    Cage Rage champion with 9-1-0

  • It makes sense for people entering K1 to cross train. I have also been asked and have helped some Muay thai and vale Tudo guys because they see a valid use for TKD especially when they battle with getting kicked in the head etc. All martial artists worth their salt

respect and aknowledge the usefullnes of other martial arts.

  • I totally agree with you, even capoeira is worth . But braggers like goedesick who think they know a lot about MArts just because they watch lots of MMA fights on youtube tend to think that Brazilian Jiujitsu and Muay thai are perfect martial arts

  • yeah, tkd (ITF & WTF) are so crap they are the fastest growing and most modern international arts around.

the problem is that these videos of very good kick boxers are taking on amateur TKD black belts, there are so many dangerous black belts in every tkd group that never get noticed by negitive outsiders...

  • exactly!

we ve got one in our team, that has beaten 3 blackbelts (all he fought) and hes just green yellow.

By the way,i won my matches against blackbelt taekwondo cup winners, too! i just hate the fast taekwondo point competition...I think the dangerouse taekwondo useres are the same opinion as me

  • kickbox is gewoon hondensport

  • Perry, je bent niet voor niks uitgekozen tot Nijmegenaar van het jaar! Ik kom zeker weer een keer bij je trainen in Nijmegen, voor mij blijf je de nummer 1.

  • i totally agree, TKD worst "martial art" period

  • i agree whit kiss muay thai is to powerfull , tkd is to gay so much gay is the gayst thing in world

  • lol i do itf taekwon-do aswell but that guy was terrible, i also trained a few times with perry ubeda. but im just 14 years old lol

  • dayem... what an insult!

  • *All pretty good. The kickboxer had monstrous stamina, throwing kicks that powerful all the time.

  • I think they were both pretty good.

  • TKD is garbage....ive done both TKD and Muaythai (lived and fought in thailand for over 2 years) and real muaythai would destroy TKD anyday of the week.

  • Oh yes this anecdotal evidence is conclusive!

  • The tkd guy was garbage. He didnt take advantage of the openning.

  • Watch: Perry ubeda k.o's

  • i hope nobody would think that tkd was kicked ass from kick boxer. cuz tkd guy shown in this vid...really sucked at sparring.

  • let them judge as they are! MASS MUST go WRONG thru history!Kitos!

  • no no no. i usually just ignore these silly videos and comments about who kicks ass and who sucks, but i really must say that the tkd guy CERTAINLY wasn't a good fighter, and his sparring was far from real tkd. i don't know where he had bought his costume. i hope that u won't judge the whole art because of him. THAT WASN'T GOOD TAEKWON-DO!!

  • It Wasn't TKD!.I like people going sooo wrong. How they can think a Martial Art,this case TKD ,w/ many more types of kicks and better quality .Hands also, can be lower than kickbox!KickBox is 4 kicks and like 4 punches.Obviusly the crappy fighters on the Martial Arts , these days allow shit happens!Luckly I practice the old school!

  • right....

  • let them judge as they are! MASS MUST go WRONG thru history!Kitos!

  • This is perry Ubeda. My trainer :)

  • ok... dont you think that the tkd is one of the worst in the world. what about a REALLY good one??

  • i hope all this true fighters who always comment with he sucks and he sucks, once will upload videos of their own, showing us all how much better they can do. but if you are not able to do this please shut up. and about MA vs MA people who have a bit of experience (not only in front of computer) know they have to respect every martial art, cause in every martial art you will find people who are strong and who kick ass.

  • To all of you I don t care who this guy is. There is no way you can watch this fight and think "wow look at those gay moves" The guy he fought was like a fucking sack of shitty spoiled potatoes. His kicks and punches are not impressive at all.

  • the tkd guy sucked

  • Finally an intelligent response.

  • Then you obviously don't even know that kickboxer.

  • who is he?

  • How could that kickboxer be proud. He fucking sucks. Not only that the guy he beat was absolutely terrible. Embarrassing display of martial arts.

  • Perry Ubeda is my trainer and he does not suck.

    looks at his titles!

    Open Japans Taekwon-Do Champion 1996

This championship was heavyweight!Perry only weight about 75 Kg

  • lol everyone knows muay thai owns taekwondo.

  • The only thing Muay Thai owns are those fucked up headbands they wear.

  • no shit... you deserve the pulitzer for this comment

  • tottally agreed,I do practice taekwondo ITF,and i saw the world champion,it was hundreds of times better, one of those guys didn't even know hoy to punch, swinging arrounnd his arms like an idiot, thats not taekwondo ITF...the other one,NEVER whent to te sides or tried to anticcipate the atacks, that where easy to read,a real taekwondo champion would have done that because the kickboxer left a HUGE space in his defense whe he kicked,

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Within your heart you know muay thai is much better.

  • in my heart i know have beaten muay thai fighters before.....

  • besides the firs guy in the video was a coward, he kept running and running until the other guy got him, didn't throw a single punch and didn't anticipate

  • cool, were i can find this video??

  • thyboth sucked

  • the clp lags a lil like the sound is weird but nice

  • not very flashy...but it was effective
