Are you still using this method? I am using the binder method. 1st I was clipping and putting them in categories but got behind on clipping them. I still have binder but organize by insert. No clipping until I do my list or cut when I'm at the store which also takes up time. So I am not sure what to do.
@amandacoupon03 I do still do most of this. I've eliminated the ipad spreadsheet. Not because it wasn't useful but because I wasn't keeping up with it. I'm all about paying attention to what I'm naturally doing/not doing and finding a way to work in my natural tendencies into a functional system, lol. That's how I came up with the box system b/c I was naturally stuffing clipped coupons in envelopes as a "temporary" system. So I just decided to just go with that ;)
@TucsonCoupon you know what i did I bookmarked the coupon list for my area from fabulesslyfrugal google docs and I do copy paste their list to my own spreadsheet using google docs as well and bookmarked the link to my phone. I dont have an ipad so my phone and google docs is only thing i could use and that works out well.
this is an awesome idea. Im a new couponer and i have been thinking about what im going to do once i start subscribing to la times and get all you mags. i was afraid ill get overwhelmed with all the coupons and when i started playing around making my own template with google docs i finally subscribed to sunday newspaper and i started receiving my all you mag and other mags with coupons. its so easy to use. i get all my coupons i dont clip anything just file it and search my spreadsheet easy!!!
hi there! i love the spreadsheet idea. i really want to do this on my ipad as well. how do you get the preview to your spreadsheet? you don't manually sit there and type each coupon into spreadsheet do you? thanks for any help you can offer!
This is really good, I wish I had time to put all my coupons into a spreadsheet, being a full-time mother, and working full-time has my time very limited. But it looks great.
@acorns4 LOL. I have 3 kids and work from home. I don't have unlimited time either. But that's exactly why I was forced to go with this system. I've found it actually saves me TONS of time over the binder method. And I don't type up my coupons myself, I just download the list from here: fabulesslyfrugal(dot)com/coupon-insert-lists and edit it down to what I actually have on hand :) HTH :)
@sabeena911 I really wish I could have made the binder work better for me, but I finally had to let it go and stop forcing a companionship, lol. We just weren't gonna get along ;)
Thank you very much for sharing the whole binder isnt working for me anymore I seen the box u used and I am going to start that system ASAP. Thanks again.
@representing50plus I just consolidate the work that most people do throughout the whole process into the beginning is all... The work is on the front end instead of the back end (clipping to perfect size, finding, re-organizing, filing, purging, etc.) This system is not for everyone, but I thought since the binder wasn't working for me, perhaps there were others who could use an alternative too. But trust me - the video explaining it takes longer than the process of actually doing it, LOL!
We pretty much have the same system! I only started 2 months ago though so I still don't carry as much as you do but I do use a huge tote purse to carry all my coupons and samsung galaxy tab.
This is a really great system and I like how you have everything in spreadsheet format. This definitely makes couponing easier and you'll always know what you have. I was using the envelope organizational system but now i use a small photo album. It's really only me so I don't have that many coupons. I do think I'm going to find something bigger with more slots though so I can tab them alphabetically. Thanks for sharing hun.
That is so clever with the folders in the box!!! Also, that method you have with the 'target store' coupons being right by the mfg coupons..... BRILLIANT!
