Wow, that siren is slightly haunting. I thought the sirens in the UK where alarming.I always think of someone with every siren I hear. I don't like them. In America you hear them all the time and they're suppose to alert you, but I don't think anyone notices anymore. I would stop and notice that one, but that's because it's different I think.

@debbiechickie5 I don't think they have central heating....pretty sure they use electric heaters or something to that nature. They also don't have hot water. They have to turn on this water-heater in order to take a shower or bath.

When I lived on the Far East, when my big country has a border with Japan, we Always had such snowfalls. You go to bed, there are no Snow in the streets. But when you wake up you see nothing, because the Snow meter is up to the second or the third floor. And you dig caves in it. It was so much fun, when I was a kid! And the thing is, that it melts down to almost nothing during the Day. and then the story repeats. I really loved it there...

That snow cave next to snow ball is called "kamakura かまくら” in Japanese. Winter in Nagoya is cold and summer is terribly hot. That's why so large underground shopping area are there. Peace!

I completely understand. Having grown up in Japan (now I live in New York; for now, at least), it really didn't snow much, and people always panicked at a little snow.
