Wow! I've got the album recorded on cassette by a friend in '93 and I was turning it to mp3 so I was looking for the artwork and this is the only mention of it on the internet. Hard to believe as I thought it was up there among the better offers in the 90's
This is a great song. One of my favorite songs. I had it on tape then I found it on cd. Takes me back to high school. I would rewind the tape and listen to this song over and over and over and over again. Such a sad and wonderful tune. Great guitar work here by former Banshees John Valentine Carruthers. Thanks a million for posting.
I was on the art crew that built this set for this video.... we used countless gallons of Hershey's syrup to create the oil effect and along with the lights warming it up it was intense. Till this day it I still wont touch the stuff.. The band members were great sports, the equipment was trashed and no showers!! ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!
I always wondered what happened to Carruthers. Tinderbox is one of my favorite albums ever because of him. It's a shame this isn't very good, but thanks very much for putting it up.
@einexile On the contrary, I think this is actually very good. It may not be on the same level as something from Tinderbox, but there's undoubtedly a lot of musicianship at work on this song. I love the subtle electronics, the absence of guitar during the verse, the simple yet very effective drumbeat, the vocal dynamics from verse to chorus, that sweet little synth part during the bridge, and the guitar riff for the chorus is just awesome to say the least.
the album was freakin impossible to find, i was one of my favorites when i was younger but sadly never got off the ground, someone needs to upload it to itunes.
These guys were friggin geniuses (as far as I'm concerned). I'm one of the people who still has their CD and STILL listen to this track on a regular basis. I used to have a tape I recorded off the radio called "getting things done" that was full of good work music and this was the second track on it. Does anyone know if there's a website for them?
do you have any idea if there was an album or ep associated with this track? i have been long unable to find any info on discogs or anywhere else due to the brevity of the name and song title.
@elfantastic0 it was on an album called CRUSH and is available on amazon.com used very cheap(just make sure you have the right group because there is another with same name-check song list for this song to be sure
