  • they wouldnt take the triboro....thats way uptown and out of the way....he should hope that the 59th st bridge should close since that is the more direct route from the un to queens

  • Love this scene! How can the others stand there without cracking up? This gets me every time!

  • Cut the best part, the payoff:

    "That was probably his secretary."

  • There are big signs you can't park there!

  • wonder if rené esteves ever experience sheen so mad...maybe she's drawing from personal experience getting out the door quickly

  • Boris Johnson (Mayor of London) is gonna maybe charge Obama £5.5 million for Congestion charges racked up by the US Embassy. Reminded me of this :)

  • which episode was this?

  • @LestatandBerial Arctic Radar, Season 4 Episode 10

  • OR A TRACTOR SHOW!!!

  • woot woot ft Leavenworth shout out!

  • "Well that was probobly his secretary"

    "Oh,"

"You can bet she'll be parking it in the garage though."

What's the point of diplomatic immunity if you cann't ignore the odd fine?

  • .....And there's a big Craft Show at Shay!!

  • Rest in peace shea

  • After the tirade, Leo: "Well, I think you scared the secretary pretty good."

  • Actually it was Charlie and he said: "Well, that was probably his secretary."

  • Parking tickets, you cheap *BLATT* diplomats!

  • Try to find free parking in Chicago its all parking meters

  • This is great!!!

  • i dont think they have big tractor shows in queens. at least, i've never seen any ads for one.

  • he said he hopes they have them to annoy said violators

  • I just heard on the radio here in the UK that Diplomats in London have run up over £1 million in unpaid parking tickets. I just had to come and look this little clip up.

  • LMFAO!!!

  • You skipped over Charlies comment after the presidents rant. He tells the president he more than likely just screamed at a assistant or secretary. Its funny, you should add it in.

  • Totally agree that the best bit was left out, especially when Charlie says the assistant will be parking in a garage from now on :)

  • LMAO - great clip! Thanks for posting! A Sorkin is such a great writer!

  • A craft show at Shea gets me every time

  • For me it was just the opening, "THERE ARE BIG SIGNS, YOU CAN'T PARK THERE!" It's just the statement of the fact in a way that's so un-Bartlet yet so Bartlet at the same time.

  • greatest bitchout ever

  • THIS is my fave West Wing Moment LOL

  • What episode and season was this?

Love it, thanks for posting it!

  • I think it's season 3 or 4

  • OMG only my wife's favorite West Wing moment THANK YOU!

  • This clip won't work on my computer. I'd love to see it! Explorer and Firefox won't play it, but they will play all other youtube videos. Any ideas?

  • I don't get it... what's he shouting about?

  • The UN Secretary General is trying to weasel out of a parking ticket and thinks he can because he is "important" but the President does not believe that "important" people should be exempt to the law. The Secretary General understandably thus pisses off Bartlet and this happens.

  • close actually it's about diplomatic immunity not him thinking he's "important"

  • No, I said (basically) that just because he has a high rank he shouldn't be exempt to the laws, which is basically what you said minus the words "diplomatic immunity."

  • Uhm, accurately, the UN Secretary-General was attempting to intercede on behalf of [lower-ranking] diplomats [and their families] working for the UN--who are known to park anywhere they please, get issued parking tickets each time which they simply ignore.

Periodically, NYC and Washington DC send reminders and threaten to seize offending cars, and that is when the UN Secretary General steps in, and eventually the White House gets involved, too.

    . . .

  • (The UN Secretary General himself, as well as the Ambassadors of major countries themselves, would most likely have chauffeurs, thus would not leave their cars parked in no-park zones unattended.)

  • Most official buildings have special parking for VIPs and their cars it would only be underings that drove themselves that would have to follow signs & not all works are given diplomatic immunity & I dont think it applies to family in all cases either. Though I believe it changes

  • It depends - my Dad works for the Foreign Service and when asked responded that U.S. diplomats overseas, at least, are expected to obey the laws of the country they're in and, if their cars get towed, they're pretty much on their own.

Judging from the number of complaints the cities of New York and Washington issue every year about diplomats using their immunity to park wherever they please, not everyone follows the same rulebook...

  • That's a very loyal viewpoint you've got there but they're really not that saintly... you should check out how much American diplomats in London owe in congestions charges!

  • Wow, I'm really sorry I missed this episode. "The Prez Flips the Hell Out". Awesome.

  • Awesome! I think after this, it turns out not to be the Secretary General, and Leo days "He sure as hell's gonna watch were he parks" or something like that.

  • it's the Secretary General's secretary. Charlie says "Well that was probably his secretary. But you can be sure she'll know not to park there anymore"

  • Charlie actually says "You can bet she'll be parking in a garage though"

  • I do beleive that is anatomically impossible.

  • LMAO

  • I agree that was the funniest part of the scene that Bartlet was yelling at the wrong person.

  • i love this.

  • Brilliant

  • Bartlet is so damn awesome.

  • lol... funny :)

  • This is really a classic! Average rainfall... yeah, and parking tickets.

Can you picture the UN-Secretary General, a towed car and a tractor show? Now, that would've been a sight to see on West Wing. :))

  • Bartlett... what a man!!

  • Classic...
