well i would have to agree with you but man the volume takes it out of you i do one set to fail and i do multiple sets to fail so it do sets to fail and when my body cant take any more i do one set to fail each exercise of course i warm up to the heavyest weight but thats the way i do it i also go light one week and heavy the next
I just got his video and would reccomend everyone to get it!!! It will clear up any confusions about the training. I have been doing it all wrong until tomorrow when I start back up!

I now do almost stiff legged deads now instead of full deads because once the weight bar drops past a certain point at the shins ego trainers tend to drop the waist to accomodate the weight. Becomes a half assed quarter range squat. Rack deads are best.

Ive done it, 'picture perfect form' as you put it, with 4 sec negatives, without dropping it to the floor to keep as much tension on the muscle as possible. it can be done. just need to drop the ego a little bit, and the weights a little.

clearly you didnt understand me. I didnt say that I went to negative FAILURE after going to positive failure, I said 'WITH 4 sec negatives, without dropping it to the floor'. That means the lowering portion of the rep. Anyhow, going to negative failure on deads will NOT ruin your back if done safely with proper form as I advocated. You need to pay attention sunshine and read a proper physiology textbook.
Love your vids been watching for years!

A regular deadlift requires you to lower the waist, it's not a consequence of being an ego trainer.
pacificoaks 4 years ago 2
I agree, however as i said before some people tend to take this concept too far and tend to drop a little lower than is beneficial.

Doing negatives on deadlifts will destroy your back. Tell any expert on the movement to do negatives and they'll laugh in your face.

Anyone who laughs in this guy's face, this guy who is doing 5 plates for reps, is not an "expert."
There is nothing wrong with being strong as a fucking ox and repping heavy on deadlifts.
Don't try to control the negative if you're doing a max single, but for God's sake, get some perspective.
