@TheAlexManVideos Thanks for the response, man. I'm putting mine in today. You rock for posting all the videos about the clutch and oil pump too. Wish me luck!
@TheAlexManVideos how often have u ever seen a cracked head b\c im not shur but it runs great untill it get hot then it just dies and then nothing ?? =3-
From belgium, I would do my best to express myself. I have a little question, it's the original carburator, shen wei 20mm? Have you change something in the carb? And what kinf of CDI is it? The Tb CDI or an other like a takegawa ?
goodevening. in 8:50 you say how many feet pounds you should screw the main bolts. how many did you mention?another question i have a anf 125 honda (innova) how many pounds shall i screw the same bolts. i will use the same number of pounds?because i don't have a service manual.and finally how much space shall i leave to the compression valve and to exhaust valve.thank you.
If I may give a constructive commentary; next time, make the video and afterwards add your audio. Or just record your audio again, then we don't have the noises from falling parts, you can straighten up your mistakes and it will be easier to follow.
hey, im wanting to buy and install a big bore kit for a crf50 and from your video i dont think im gunna be able to do it myself so i was wonderin how much it would cost if i got a dealership or mechanic to install it, thanks
Hi Alex quick question...I have a crf 70cc and was going to install a big bore kit but i can get a 125cc or larger engine with same bolt pettern for a little more money..am i better off with the big bore or the cubes? Is it hard swapping bigger engines? What do you recommend?thnx 4 any help
hi mate how do i go about installing a tb 88 kit with an inner rotor, i mean getting tdc as it has no tdc markings on it please help man im stuck big time i just wanna ride it now
Thanks, sounds like the pump is a good investment. Do I need a special tool to take apart the clutch to get the pump in - I am putting in HD clutch springs too. Thanks!
@StompedAgain I would recommend it on ANY engine. The stock one is tiny. The HV oil pump's impeller is between 2 and 3 times as wide and delivers between 2 and 3 times as much oil. But no, it's not required. It will run without it. I just won't get as much oil to the top end.
@StompedAgain Hey alex I just installed the kit and now my bike wont start im getting spark and fuel I got the race head and carb and it started for about 30 seconds reved real high then dies and I cant get it to start can you HELP..Thanks
I just do some easy trail riding to break in my motors. An hour or two will do. Change the oil when you are done. Break in is a very controversial topic. This is just my way, there are thousands of other methods.
Hold the rocker arms in place and then slide the rocker shaft in from the clutch side of the head. The right side head cover must be off. The cylinder studs hold them in once the head is installed.
The motor that was taken apart is different from the engine assembled. I didn't have any footage of taking apart the motor I built up so I used some old video. The process is exactly the same. Honda Trail Bikes makes kits for every year Z/XR/CRF50.
All Z/XR/CRF50 motors will BOLT INTO the frame but the electronics are different. Honda Trail Bikes makes kits for every year Z50A/R and also for all the XR/CRF50's.
tho havin bit of trouble puttin the cable on the clutch? any tips wen i put it on the clutch arm and the go to put it on the leaver no enought come out to go on the lever.
also i was wondering if u wud hav any old crf 50 or xr or any old honda 50 motors running or broken that you wud wanna sell me????
Make sure you adjust all the linkages to have the most free play. Then adjust again for correct free play after the lever is installed. I have no motors for sale.
Hey, this kit was supposed to come with a HC piston right? If so, why don;t i have a HC gasket, the copper one, like you have, or is that just your own gasket?
The piston is HC even with the paper and metal layered gasket in the kit. I bought the thinner copper gasket from another vendor to up the compression even more. I found that it never sealed. I always had oil leaking out the bottom of the cylinder onto the skidplate. Hopefully you have better luck if you try.
Glad to know I helped. As for the manual clutch, you'll like it a lot. It's easy to install, and once you have it, you can get better starts off the line and also slip it if necessary like out of turns and such. Definitely a worth-while upgrade.
hey, i just installed a 88 kit race head. isnt working right tho. i ordered a new 20mm carb from tb and it helped. but i might have put the cam in backwards. i mean like rolled in the wrong way. could that be the problem or could my bearings on the bottom end be done?
Make sure the cam timing is set correctly. If you think that's what it is then go and fix it. I have a video specifically about how to set the cam timing.
i checked it and its fine. the only thing i can think of is that the bearings in the bottom end are shot. i know my valves are a lil off. i ordered a set of feeler gauges with the right time sizes.
If the valves are really far off, that might cause the problems you are having due to lack of compression. If the bearings are bad it might run rough but it wouldn't be so bad as to make an 88 feel like a stocker. My suggestion is to adjust the valves and see what happens. If they are too tight the valves will hang open and cause low compression and power loss.
Still looks good today. Heat hasn't affected it. I've raced 3 or 4 times hard and it got hot, also numerous rides around the neighborhood. Still looks good.
you should have the oil pump off when you drill the hole. You will be able to see into the side where the pump output goes to the oil jet. It's only about 1/4 inch of metal. You will be able to see it if you have the pump off. I plan to make a video next time I have a motor apart or a new motor to work on.
Actually working out a package deal with a vendor right now on a stroker crank. A 51mm crank will bring me out to 108cc of fury! Plan to make a video of that too. Hopefully I'll have my good camera working by then.

I would like to say when installing the cam , you should put a little oil or assembly lube on the cam lobes and also on the cam bearing before inserting it into the head . And also people need to remember to tighten the cylinder and cylinder head anchor bolts . In the vid you only showed them being hand tightened . Great vid . 5 stars .
WAit.. why is the rocker head cover arrow have to be down? I took mine off to polish it and i left it pointing up.. also noticed a tiny oil leakage... TIME TO PUT IT RIGHT SIDE UP! LOL!
It shouldn't even fit if the arrow points up. The stud pattern is not a rectangle. The studs are staggered. The oil leak is not related to the rocker cover being upsidedown.
Just say don't drill that oil hole unless you have the case split so you can clean out the shavings. I know there is some idiot some where that would actually try that. not to sound like a dick or anything.

@mason0444 I've done it that way before. The only thing is you'll need to remove the front wheel to get the cylinder head off the studs.
