the reason why zombies chase it,is the same reason Dog chases it. It's really listed as an "enemy" so they go to attack it. Dog's "attack" just happens to be grabbing it.

I too took the ball alongside me for as long as I could. I don't remember how I lost it, but it was very emotional for me, truly a sad moment. The rest of the game felt lonely :(

It's sort of a glitch.

Dog, an npc, is attracted, thus all npcs are attracted and will attack if the ball is seen.

i took it and called it the companion ball, but then we had to part because of a invisible wall at the end of ravenhol with the elavator :'( atleast he has greagory as company.

with it the achievement for playing through ravenholm with only a gravity gun was so much easier :)
