Aside from a few other people, Lezli is basically the sole survivor of the integral part of All Platinum Records. Should she ever pass on, the truths regarding this label and its atrocities will die forever. THE TRUTH NEEDS TO BE TOLD NOW!!!
@boldrunner7 Another crook who needs to be exposed is Carl Davis. Maybe it was a good thing that I didn't get involved in this industry. This is way too sad. Too much plagiarism, drugs, theft and sex.
It sadden my heart how this great singer was treated by the Robinson...
RIP Sylvia, but you were one mean..B!@.../Woman... Still your contribution to music is well known.
Now that Sylvia have passed,. how would Lezlie Valentine name be credited as one of the writers for this Classic. I'd read that every time Lezlie Approached Sylvia she promise to rectify it.
Only Bert Keyes (is he alive?) can testify to it, Because Joe was no better than Sylvia...
@shittywife No Lezli Valentine, No "I Found Love On A Two Way Street". Jay Z, Alicia Keys and others need to acknowledge her when they sampled her song in "Empire State of Mind" and other remakes.
@shittywife Ebert Mahon aka Bert Keyes passed away in 1987. However, Billy Brown, Mark Greene, Rose-Marie McCoy and Louise Murray are all still living. Now that I'm with her, I have an attorney friend of mine working on getting her digital royalties and will also be filing a federal lawsuit. Now that Sylvia's passed, we will be seeking a judgement against her estate. Lezli and her family needs to get paid, PRONTO as our family is walking on a thin tightrope with expenses!
I actually don't blame Sylvia. I put the blame on her then-husband Joe Robinson for not crediting her. I guess you have to be in their shoes to know what really went on. Anyways, a true classic and something that will go on forever. R.I.P. to Sylvia Robinson regardless.
@timmy841212 I've got news for you. Before Joe Robinson, Sylvia tried to steal the authorship for "Love Is Strange", which was written by Bo Didley. In time, the whole truth will be out there for everyone to witness as Sylvia is the largest plagiarizer in the music industry. R.I.P. to Sylvia and R.I.P. to Sylvia's victims of her plagiarism that died unknown, poor, void & destitute and unrecognized!
@werewolfmanjackal Wow did she?! I had no idea she tried to steal songwriting credit from Bo Diddley! He basically tried to help her and Mickey out! Wow.
@timmy841212 BTW, before we lose any more legends, the truth needs to be told and exposed while Lezli and the others are still living. I am going to personally see to that. Lezli is a part of my life now and she WAS there.
@timmy841212 No. Not at all. Sylvia & Co ripped her off and so many other artists and musicians, including Ebert Mahon AKA Burt Keyes (Pictured with Lezli in the video). In due time, justice will be served as these crooks are not going to keep on getting away with this!

@werewolfmanjackal That is really interesting. A lot of great acts went under because of this. Your boldness to expose the truth is respected,

I'm stunned!!!!!
This always has and will always be one of THE best songs ever written!
i never knew the true story behind it. Lezli's performance is sweet and heartbreaking, so right for a song written as this.
thanks for the education and the post.
