  • What happened to music like this?

  • i love his songs and his voice would love to see him in concert

  • Singers just don't have distinct voices today like they use to.

  • Love this song. They dont make music like this any more. Gary's voice was something special

  • thease guy`s were pedofiles all they sang about was screwing young girls i hope there in jail now

  • Glen Campbell found this song and gave it to their producer as a favor instead of recording it himself..

  • This guys voice is amazing I think anyway....

  • I've always loved this song.....

  • ".....but it's knowing that you're looking back that's really KILLING ME........".

What a fantastic song ! Love it! Sung with such power.

  • Loved this song. One of my fav groups. The stuff they record now does no way compare to the music of this era..

  • Great song!

  • The Best song Gary Puckett ever did! I Love This!!!!

  • what a fantastic song!!!

    LOVE, LOVE THIS!

  • I have always loved these guys! great voice gary!

  • why always the principal voice like this try to get ahead on the fama after the band get high on rating they get fuck

  • From what I have read, they were discovered by a producer while they were playing in a bowling alley in San Diego... He heard the voice and had them come to Hollywood for a recording. I t took Gary Puckett just two takes to nail this song.

  • @mgwilliams1000 It is interesting to note that Country Singer/Songwriter Jim Glaser wrote and recorded this a number of years earlier, to limited success. Glaser has a wonderful voice and is still performiong in his 70's. Check him out performing an amazing acoustic version of this on Youtube

  • One of my favorite groups. Happy Birthday Gary.

  • Happy 69 th Birthday Gary!

  • its remarkable how music transend thru decade of reality and truth.

  • too bad they do'nt write music like this any more

  • Yes. They were great ! Never to forget... "Young girl" !

The nowadays music... is made to... turn men´s heart and mind... a deaf stone !

  • The man with the golden voice !

  • Thanks for uploading this video. I'm 20 years old and ive been listening to oldies for the past 12 years now. I still listen to rap, rock, reggae, and all other types of music. But I have to say oldies just brings me back to the good old days and good memories from when I was growing up and my mom listening to it in her car and at home all the time. She still does to this day but I just appreciate the music so much more now a days and I love it!!

  • one of my favorite groups! sure takes me back to good times. my husband and i dated to these songs. we've been together over 42 years! still listening to the union gap all the oldies! he had such a great voice. does anyone know why they broke up?

  • @JannieInKy I copied the following from wikipedia.

Chater and Withem left the band; Bement took over on bass guitar and keyboardist, Barry McCoy, and horn player, Richard Gabriel, were added. In 1970 Puckett began recording as a solo act, but with limited success; the Union Gap remained his live backing band until they were dismissed following an appearance at the 1971 Orange County Fair. Puckett's recording contract was terminated one year later.

  • Extraordinaria canción, una gran belleza. Para mí su mejor tema entre los hits. Inolvidable y evocadora.

  • What a song this is !!!! lovely !!!!

  • Whenever I hear Gary Puckett, I think, wow..."That is a MAN singing that tune"! He has such great projection, pitch, and power in his voice.

  • thats the problem with this world people's got cheating on your mind. Commitment is so hard find. Why can't we as human being or as people keep your focus on one person, when people are cheating more and more and making difficult for us to find the special someone. Keep your eyes on the ball and focus on the prize.........one love......one commitment......one woman

  • A very underestimated song in the uk, for some reason it was a flop here, maybe because there were so many great songs around in those days, i guess some of the best had to be missed and not to chart.

  • Thank you for uploading these songs, my son thinks I have lost my mind when he hears me listening to the music of this era. What he doesn't know is what IS making me crazy is listening to the stuff (RAP) that he calls music. I tell him that is not music, that is just talking and cussing into a mic.

Again, thanks for the upload. How about a little BREAD next time? hehehe.

    Take care.

  • When music was music and musicians had real talent.Thank you for posting.

  • This is such a great song!!

  • LOVE GARY PUCKETT.

MOST OF HIS SONGS, I JUST LOVE!

HE IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGERS EVER!

  • I'm 43 and I grew up listening to all kinds of music in my house. Love this era of music. It brings back great memories.

  • Im 30 but am soooooo glad my parents beat this music into me at a young age!!!! I love it and will beat it into my kids!!!!!!!!!

  • @kcalbraeb I'm 21 and glad my parents beat this kind of music into me. It's so much better than what we have today.

  • @rakgtr Check out Elliott Smith.

  • I actually had him sing this to me in person, most awesome!!!

  • @MsPookie60

I'm glad you looked it. I shall sing it again....im joking I was like 0 when this guy was 38.

  • some of the deepest lyrics ive ever heard

  • lindas y muy lindas yclacicas que no pasaran de moda por los ciglos de los ciglos

  • These guy seem to be singing straight from the heart. I love this song!!!!

  • Driving to High School between '66 &'70, in my '64 Valiant, making stops along the way to pick up friends, the music that came out of that single speaker from whatever AM station across the country you were listening to, well..., we were just lucky...let's see, 1967 AM radio, maybe..., "I Second That Emotion, I Think We're Alone Now, Kind of a Drag, Groovin', Daydream Believer, Happy Together, Little BIt Of Soul,Ode To Billie Joe,Let's Live For Today...," "...all to follow next!" (fade out..)

  • When they recorded this it took two takes. On the second one Gary Puckett naied it!

  • I'm 13 And I Love This Song To Death They Need To Bring These Type Of Songs Back To The Main Stream!

  • Canciones como "Young Girl" y "Woman, Woman" han vencido al tiempo.

  • If anyone wants to jump a board on my time machine back to the 60s and 70s get ready, it's boarding now. lol

  • Puckett's voice is amazing.

  • OUTSTANDING AND SO MEMORABLE...THANK YOU!

  • OMG this is the stuff I grew up on. Awesome then and awesome now.

  • there is a deeper reason you like this song and the old ones. maybe they are applicable to your own existence.

  • I remember listening to this song growing up, in the car. My mom would have the "oldies" stations on and we'd drive around, these songs always playing. Now I LOVE Gary Puckett. I wish music was still like this...

  • Awesome! A lot of people trash the 70s, still it was the time of my youth and I'm proud of the music. Biggest fan now is my 10 year old granddaughter who can't get enough of it!

  • Anyone who's interested in hearing an entertaining and in-depth interview with my friend's uncle, Gary "Mutha" Withem of Gary Puckett & the Union Gap should come check it out on iTunes (keywords = Mutha Withem). Enjoy! :-)

  • @clandestineone can you give me more detail on where to look in iTunes?

  • @jimcar53 ---> Absolutely! Just enter the iTunes store and type the words "Mutha Withem" into the search bar. The only result that should appear is my podcast (entitled "Mutha Withem"). Then, just click the "Subscribe" button, wait for it to download, and there ya go! :-)

It's also available on a website, but I didn't think we were supposed to post URLs here... In any case, let me know if you have any problems. Enjoy! ^_^

  • @clandestineone fascinating interview. gives us an insight into life on the road and lots more history of one of the most underated groups of that time. thanks for sharing the link with union gap fans worldwide.

  • @jimcar53 ---> Thanks, man! That's the first bit of feedback (let alone praise) I've gotten :-) So glad you enjoyed it!

  • OK, here's your chance, you 21, what could you possibly dislike about this song

or Puckett's obviously amazing vocal? Or are you just people, who like to hit

the frickin dislike key? For some reason, I dislike that you dislike this. You can say it's a matter of opinion or taste or whatever, and I agree, except that you have the wrong opinion and no taste on this one.

  • @17865329 Be realistic. It's possible to like a singer's voice and the skill of the musicians, but to just not like the song. Maybe it's the lyrics. Maybe someone was sensitive about a cheating girlfriend. I like this song, but there are some Gary Puckett songs that I don't like. Don't take it so personally.

  • Well apparently, 21 people dislike high quality singing from a pop music icon, with

a voice that could bring the house down. I guess they don't like the way Puckett

PERFECTLY belts out this song. Good work though guys....nice job you 21 musical

    idiots.

  • I dated this hot girl when this song was big. I used say, Kathy you know how I can tell ya got cheating on your mind? Cause every guy who offers you his phone number, you keep it.

  • 21 people have cheating on their mind

  • correcto:la musica de los 60s fue epoca de oro,y como tal no se volvera a repetir, asi que nuevas generaciones:GOZENLA

  • The 60is music was GOLD

  • thank you so much i started listing to this band when i was 16 im now 35 they are great i just love them it bets todays music any day

  • I¨D LIKE THE NOW GENERATION TOOK A LOOK TO THIS MUSIC

    lolz, jk

  • i saw them in newark 1964 i will never be the same i have seen them all stones zep who all of the cllassics godspeed gary

  • I'm 14 and I love this song

  • @wizardbaker

I'm glad to hear that people of younger generations are enjoying Gary Punkett songs. Young people are so eclectic. Back in "my day", the older generation had their music, we had ours. And now I'm getting acquainted with my parents, grandparents music; big band, swing. I'm old and I enjoy learning from the example of the young.

  • tjerwin1, thank you so much for the awesome music! It's always nice to get back to the 60's and 70's in this crazy day and age, if only for a little while........

  • @nomisbehvn I totally agree. That's the reason why I liked uploading and listening to this type of music. My mother and oldest brother (God rest his soul) got me hooked on music from the era that this music belonged to. It needs to be played for the NOW generation so they know what real signing and music is. Nothing but greatness. Also I really do appreciate the music I upload. Thank you.

  • @tjerwin1 i agree with you 100 per cent thank god your among the ones that still love this kind of music

  • @tjerwin1. What is wrong with this song? It has great lyrics, they make sense. They're singable, they have a great backing band, that really knows how to play their instruments. Oh yeah, I know what's wrong with it, you can understand it! Thanks heaps for putting this one up. Takes me back to my teens & brings back happy memories.

  • @nomisbehvn yes , well put! If only for a little while! Not quite sure what happened to music like this, Just so damn glad it was there while I was young, and it WAS EVERYWHERE!!

  • @kbmcel1 It just makes feel good that there are some people out there that actually listen to the music I upload and appreciate the singers for their talent. A lot of great music came out of different eras. Gary Puckett was what I would hear some mornings before I would go to school and I just enjoyed listening to him then and obviously still do to this day. Thank you for enjoying my uploads.

  • My apologizes It is that I was looking for more videos that I don't have in my collection in respect for you I will try to load them as soon as I can. Again sorry for jumping the gun. Us M$ power point to make a slide show. then convert ti to a you tube format. I will look up the programs for you and let U know where to find them. Hope this helps you.

    Pete

  • What Crap this was listed as a Video. its one I don't have. Hell IO got all the ALBUMS Yes the org. Next U should list it under Audio.

  • @PElliott0657 I created this with my video maker that came with my puter. That's how it got labeled by you tube. If you notice I didn't write it as a video or audio upload.

  • Comment removed

  • @soleicallao Caps is shouting stupid

  • @PElliott0657 - Ah, go soak your head. Then listen to your LPs. This person is providing us a huge favor by allowing us to listen to the great golden oldies. If you NEED video, do it yourself. In the meantime, I support kbmcel1 and tjerwin1 100% in that these tunes allow us reflection and nostalgia. Explain to me what a video would add. It would allow us to see the differences in clothing style, haircuts and stage movement from this decade to our current one. What else are you looking for?

  • @cesarcui1 - And a Merry Fuc*ing Christmas to you, whiner. You can still go soak your head and in the meantime, rot in hell, screw loose.

  • Fabulous song

  • Just attended a live concert by Gary Pucket and was shocked at how his voice has deteriorated. Would have much rather remembered him for what his voice was, rater than what it is now.

  • @Willy12927 sorry to hear that, always my fav. male singer, saw him at utah lake state park in the late 80's, and his voice was still excellent...............

  • @Willy12927 This group is 50 years old. I remember seeing them in 68. Wait 50 years and see what your voice sounds like.

  • Just attended a live concert of Gary Pucket, and wished I hadn't. His voice has lost that full rich sound he was famous for.

  • Truly one of the great vocalist of the rock era.

  • woman cheater, available at eBay

  • im looking for a version of this song sang by JOHN FARNHAM in his early days ..anyone ???????????

  • All you have to do is look at Ruc-DMC in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and countless other that aren't that deserve it a million times more to know how STUPID most people are today when it comes to music...

  • Have you got cheat'ing on your mind?

  • @GJNCA That's nearly an absolute. You seen some of his videos...he's singing live!...nobody does it like that anymore.

  • Wow, is there no end to the amazing music from the 60's and 70's. I'm surprised no one has made a recent version of this powerful song. Afraid to say I've been there before.

  • saw gary and the band on top of the pops live england 1968, brings back so many memories, music a nd life so much better then,

  • Well, I couldn't resist. Just bought and downloaded the album 'Young Girl: The Best of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap' from Amazon - now for some real nostalgia! :-)

  • Can anyone tell me why these assholes keep pulling videos off after thousands of views I was watching Young Girl alot really enjoyed watching these videos. Thanks Blow Tube for the shitty product that you continually provide. You tube Sucks!!!!

  • good song with good voice

  • Music that has withstood the test of time.

  • Gary and the Union Gap should have more recognition

  • I love you tube !! sooo many songs!! and clips ... soo little time!!

  • He helped define the 60s and thousands of us have danced , fell in love , fell out of love , had our hearts broken to this great song.... I think we've all been there. One of the clearest, most passionate and powerful balladic singers in the past century, without a doubt.

  • This song makes want to drink beer and drive fast like I did in the 60's........What a time we had!!!!!

  • This guy had such a great voice.

  • 4 weeks to go to see Gary live at Rooty Hill R.S.L.club

  • awesome voice

  • Gary Puckett is the fucking shit.jmmd56 you´re awesome for uploading the whole version of this monster song...

  • "And lately when I love you, I know you're not satisfied." Beautiful way of saying something intimate without sounding vulgar. Those were the days!

  • I'm Not Sure Where Gary Is Living Now,But He Was Around Here In San Diego, For A Good Long While.. In Fact, He Was Born Here. We All Have Our Favorite Hits Of Gary & the Union Gap, Mine Was "This Girl Is A Woman Now" & "Lady Willpower".. I Have Always Enjoyed His Strong Voice!:)

  • What fabulous voice! I've loved his voice since I first heard it when I was about 15. Am now 59 going on 21! "Young girl" is fantastic, so is this song.

  • Had a high school girl friend when this song was popular. One week she loved me, the next week she'd want another guy. He turned out to be a jerk, and she was back, then gone again. Whenever I heard this song, I'd think of her, but when she loved me, it was all worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In Minneapolis a few years back in front of a huge crowd , I got this man to turn around and show us his tush (got the photos too! )....the crowd loved it....I was so caught up in the moment, when he leaned down to kiss me, I turned my head................of course that got a reaction too....... what a dork I was....

  • great old song

  • Absolutely love this video!

Great voice.. so many good memories of my terrific 60's and 70's.

Make sad..I'm not getting any younger

  • Awesome song from an awesome era.............!

  • Conjuntamente con el Woman de John Lennon son de las mejores canciones dedicadas a la mujer.

  • Gary RULES!!! Summer 1970 all over again THANKS!!!

  • Its all about the markets today and what genres of music will appeal to what group of people....the 13 yr old to 19 yr olds are going to cater to the younger artist...the 20-30 year olds will like rihanna and lady gaga, etc...the element of entertainment has changed too...you can't expect performing artists to sit behind pianos or at the mics and sing without boring the audiences...that's when the incorporation of dancing and costumes/props has come into play...I love this style of music though

  • to my uncle buck puckett happy memories god bless x x x x

  • Love Gary P. he has such a great voice,I heard this music when I was little, and have loved it every since.

  • Love his voice!

I have the opinion the song, "Young Girl" is er-uh pedophilic, though. Just my opinion.

  • @janie1964 I kinda have that feeling too.

  • @janie1964 well janie...what was common then, and in some small places still happens now, is that an older man was viewed as a way out of the home. So many young ladies would present themselves as older than what they were. If you were fortunate enough to catch them before anything happened that didn't mean that the attraction wasn't a real one!

  • Lovely to hear this TJ and thanks for your trouble, well appreciated

  • Listening to this music takes me back to another place and time one that the music was better and times were lot less stressful thank you for putting the song here

  • Decent enough song with, for me,one of the slickest intro,s ever.....beautiful. gsm jr.

  • This song should be played at every Bacholor Party! Just to make the Guiy Think! I wish I would have! :'(

  • This is fantastic! Gary Pucket was a truly great singer.

  • willie 01-05-68

  • OMG awesome voice, sexy. I love Gary. I still remember the first time I heard this I stopped dead in my tracks and was instantly in love.

  • pretty awesome!!!

  • love this song, what a voice

  • Just love this era of American music

  • One of my favorite groups.

  • one of my favorite groups of all time.

  • a wonderful song...I love it....It brings me back to the school time

  • what a tune thanks for posting this

  • Very good song

  • yes

  • Twenty people obviously need their hearing checked...And they probably don't have any soul, either! Another great classic song. Thanks again for posting these great clips!

  • this song turns me on i love it ,it brings me back to that era

  • What a Voice! Amazing...

  • Under rated singer

  • this was when music was about passion not money

  • Love this song! Puckett's best! I always wished Dean Martin would have recorded it.

  • Love to hear todays singers standing along side these and made to sing without any of the aids to boost their puny voices and then the kids would know what true singing was!!!

  • their songs all sound the same, but they are still fun.

  • Was a freshman in college when this one came out.

  • Have just said about Judith Durham that Australia can be justly proud of this great singer!...And will say that America can also be justly proud of Gary Pucket! his voice is just so beautiful!!!

  • There will never be another male singer with his range again, Outstanding

  • great music !!

  • 20 thumbs down = equal 20 women that have cheated!!!!!

  • Some people can sing a song; then it is so obvious when you hear real talent! What a big voice! Thank you for posting, keep it up.

  • keep this music coming great !!!!

  • i love the fact we can glorify paedophilia! yeah!!

  • Listening for the upteenth time today!

  • Something is wrong here.. and it's really killin me!. There is and never will be music like the music from back in the day! A time of some of the best music that ever was and ever will be! I miss those days of WONDER & JOY!

    Gary Puckett voice is sensational!!!

Thank you @mikeryanify for sharingthis GEM!

Thank you tjerwin1 for posting a great classic and memory!

  • My favour Gary Puckett song too. I love most of his songs but this has to be the best.

  • how come there are no male singers like this today ? the record companies in their greed promote that garbage rap where anyone with a mike and baggy pants is a so called an artist with no type of any singing talent ,these has diminish real artists from giving us real music with real lyrics

  • @louheff It's nothing more than sad that today's generation doesn't have quality to appreciate. Gary Puckett was one of my favorite male vocalists of that era!!

  • @n2meec you are totally correct ,well said

  • @louheff

because music changes through out history
