  • Physical theropy not needed for 2 months range of motion not important? wow My Dr. has me going to PT 5 days after and cruches for 6 weeks... wow.

  • Odd that he goes to cane 4 weeks after. My surgeon had me on crutches for 6 weeks after to be safe.

  • Had the surgery in Aug. Doc said I had major Labrim damage. 4 months later, I have been playing basketball again for about a month now. FEELS GREAT!! Dr. Giordano University Of Rochester sports medicine.

  • @TequeKnow If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Did you have your surgery arthriscopically or an open surgery?

  • I had this surgery 4 days ago. Very little pain, which is very surprising. I took painkillers for only 24 hours and no pain. I use bike trainer at home 5-6 times a day for 5-7 minutes each time. I stretch but not aggressively. I am using crutches for first 2 weeks, then switch. I have found conflicting information on the range of motion that I can use. Some say don't bring your knee to the chest others say do it a lot.

  • Very clear explanation, thanks!

  • I just had this surgery last week and I feel great. I'm kind of surprised because they said to expect a lot of pain for the coming weeks. I was off of pain killers on day 3. I can walk now, but haven't been because of Dr.'s orders I'm still using crutches. Good Luck!!

  • I had labral tear/hip impingement surgery in September and am still actively recovering. Since this is a soft tissue injury, recovery does take a while. There are good and bad days. It is a bumpy road but things are looking up right now and I am currently feeling better each and every day. Make sure to get yourself in the hands of a top notch therapist.

  • I'm 19 and have hip inpingement, going for surgery in a few days, how long do you think the healing will take for me? also will I be able to stay Active with the Marines afterwards? (i enlisted 5 months ago waiting for bootcamp)
