And yes that can be switched, e.g: blue can be spartans and red can be elites. You change this in the custom game lobby by changing settings in the options menu.

@mansoot0 If you go to the Gametype, itll give you the option for the attacking team.like, if you have a UNSC base and want the elites to attack, then itll give the option to make the elites attack. Or, if yo have an Elite Base and want the spartans to attack, itll give you the option for them to attack. Hope this helps. :D
thanks this was really helpful, im making a map where the humans plant a bomb in the cave to get around a shield(grid) then capture a area to lower the shield then they get scorpions etc and have to take the core from one side of the map to the other

Great video! really helped! I'm having one problem though: After I capture the first zone, the bomb does not spawn, and it tells me to capture the capture plate like I captured the hill marker. Is there anyway I can fix this?
@darkmage95 Go on custom game and choose normal Invasion. Then go on the game options > Invasion Options > Phase 2 > Change it to Assault.
If this doesn't work go on the bomb marker and make sure it's set to sequence 2 and game label INV_OBJ_FLAG and the plate you place it on sequence 2 and INV_Objective. Hope this helps!
yeah all my debris for first one is on sequence one inv_weapon and then my second sequence is on sequence two inv_weapon and all the spawn time are at 0.
ok actually what happens to me is my first sequence bomb debris is already there at the start and my second sequence bomb debris doesn't even show up then my territory can't even be captured and I have no idea what to do

@greendip1 i also have that problem in many game types but a few ways to prevent the "reset bomb" problem is to make sure that there are no kill zone or soft kill zone boundaries around the plant area, also it may sometimes help if the area is not phased with anything else including solid objects. cheers
Inv_Gates does not require you to designate the team!
Also, if you want to make the T2 objective float just use a Hill marker rather than an capture plate. Use the same settings and the marker will function the same way!

Now, I can make my DMZ maps even more better. I usually make my maps all symmetrical-based on both sides. Best maps I made so far are DMZ - Bridges & DMZ - Guardhouse. And thanks with this tut, I can finally make my DMZ - Shard Base (Exterior) & (Interior), two maps based on one. :D
I wasnt really sure how to make the debris appear after the explosion. My first wave is assault and I want there to be debris after the explosion but the Inv_weapon tag doesn't work.

you can make it look like a real explosion if you just set a time on the third fase wich will delay the effects of the gates and core. then estimate a time for the crates to fall so in a few short seconds after they fall they will disapear then the core will pop up but you would have to tweek it up a bit becuz this doesnt work somtimes. i havent actualy tried this but my friend has so plls message me if it does work that would be great and pllse exuse my spelling
@swolf1996 what i do i go into forge lobby instead of basic editing put invasion and put the map as forge world or what ever ur working on then start and it should work.....
You don't necessarily need it to be a flag stand. It could also be a bomb plate, just set it as if it was a flag. I found out the hard way, but yeah. Also, I never knew about that INV_WEP thing. I always thought it meant like if you set a weapon to that for a certain phase, it would only spawn for that phase.
1) Make sure that the bomb spawn is set to INV_OBI_FLG
2) Make sure that the bomb plant area is set to INV_OBJECTIVE
3) Make sure that the gametype is a little modified. Set it so instead of TERRITORIES>>TERRITORIES>>CTF it is TERRITORIES>>ASSAULT>>CTF.
4) Make sure that the comment you are going to leave on me putting so much 'make sure' s is smart instead of witty (this goes to the asshole who decides it's funny to mock the list).
So if I want to put a blow-up-able object, the gametype would have to be changed slightly (a bomb placed in)? I feel like most people would not listen me saying they need to change the gametype. And also probably wouldn't download a premade gametype along with the map. ie I made a map a while ago that required a specific gametype, and the map got far more downloads than the gametype. What would happen if the gametype was not changed, and there was no bomb? Would the map still be playable at all?
@SubAtomicStudios yes. the game type label: INV_GATES, doesnt entail that there requires a bomb to be planted or anything, all it does is after a specific sequence (or phase) deletes object(s). So you could have a map MUCH like this play out with a normal invasion variant. However a default variant goes Territories -> Territories -> Core. Please refer to episode 1 of forge 101 for further detailing of what is needed to make a default invasion map.
@OPproductionzz Ahh okay I think I've got it. So if this had no special gametype, you would simply need to capture the territory in front of the gate, instead of planting a bomb there. I feel like bomb should be default, as it seems like a lot more fun. But alas. Well okay, thanks for the help. You're very good at this, and a great asset to the forging community =]

@ButchInZero yes. You just need to set it to the right phase I think. I've seen it happen. Maybe disable the spawn at start thing. Put it to the next phase then just set it as invasion. Maybe that'll work.

Thanks, this helped me alot. I was waiting for OptimumForge to do the Invasion gametype on his channel (I subscribed to him too), but he didn't make it yet (or I didn't see it and totally blind).
Now, I can make my DMZ maps even more better. I usually make my maps all symmetrical-based on both sides. Best maps I made so far are DMZ - Bridges & DMZ - Guardhouse. And thanks with this tut, I can finally make my DMZ - Shard Base (Exterior) & (Interior), two maps based on one. :D

Dude this is cool. Now y is mine not explodeing. The gate disipears but the bomb does not make a fire explosion

@TheBmoreravens52 your capture plate cannot be merged with another object, or else it will not create an explosion.

I wasnt really sure how to make the debris appear after the explosion. My first wave is assault and I want there to be debris after the explosion but the Inv_weapon tag doesn't work.

@deathhalo16 set the label to INV_WEAPON or INV_VEHICLE, and set the spawn sequence to 3..

@OPproductionzz I did what you told me and it still wont spawn but the only weird thing is that it spawns perfectly on 2nd and 1st sequence. I am trying to make an invasion map on Boardwalk and I don't have any money for fusion coils (under the bridge.)

@OPproductionzz , I'm want beams to be on my invasion map. I made them with hill markers, labeled them INV_GATES, put the right spawn sequence, and made them disappear when i capture the first area, but when i went into custom games it didn't work! Help!

Well, I set a bunch of stuff to the propper spawn sequence and set it to invasion_weapon, and it never appeared after the bomb went off. What did I do wrong?

you can make it look like a real explosion if you just set a time on the third fase wich will delay the effects of the gates and core. then estimate a time for the crates to fall so in a few short seconds after they fall they will disapear then the core will pop up but you would have to tweek it up a bit becuz this doesnt work somtimes. i havent actualy tried this but my friend has so plls message me if it does work that would be great and pllse exuse my spelling

You don't necessarily need it to be a flag stand. It could also be a bomb plate, just set it as if it was a flag. I found out the hard way, but yeah. Also, I never knew about that INV_WEP thing. I always thought it meant like if you set a weapon to that for a certain phase, it would only spawn for that phase.

@Link19011 Here's a check list.
1) Make sure that the bomb spawn is set to INV_OBI_FLG
2) Make sure that the bomb plant area is set to INV_OBJECTIVE
3) Make sure that the gametype is a little modified. Set it so instead of TERRITORIES>>TERRITORIES>>CTF it is TERRITORIES>>ASSAULT>>CTF.
4) Make sure that the comment you are going to leave on me putting so much 'make sure' s is smart instead of witty (this goes to the asshole who decides it's funny to mock the list).

So if I want to put a blow-up-able object, the gametype would have to be changed slightly (a bomb placed in)? I feel like most people would not listen me saying they need to change the gametype. And also probably wouldn't download a premade gametype along with the map. ie I made a map a while ago that required a specific gametype, and the map got far more downloads than the gametype. What would happen if the gametype was not changed, and there was no bomb? Would the map still be playable at all?

@SubAtomicStudios yes. the game type label: INV_GATES, doesnt entail that there requires a bomb to be planted or anything, all it does is after a specific sequence (or phase) deletes object(s). So you could have a map MUCH like this play out with a normal invasion variant. However a default variant goes Territories -> Territories -> Core. Please refer to episode 1 of forge 101 for further detailing of what is needed to make a default invasion map.

@OPproductionzz Ahh okay I think I've got it. So if this had no special gametype, you would simply need to capture the territory in front of the gate, instead of planting a bomb there. I feel like bomb should be default, as it seems like a lot more fun. But alas. Well okay, thanks for the help. You're very good at this, and a great asset to the forging community =]

@SubAtomicStudios do you mean like you could put a fusion coil down then put it inside the area ( like the humans have to roll it or something) then it goes boom, well im guessing it would work make a fusion coil then put the label on inv_objflag then the place you want to go boom as inv_objective this should work if not just mess around with it and see what you can do

@ButchInZero yes. You just need to set it to the right phase I think. I've seen it happen. Maybe disable the spawn at start thing. Put it to the next phase then just set it as invasion. Maybe that'll work.
