Granderson2808, take our advice, I know you meant well, but please, think befor posting insensitive, lame text like the one you "blessed" us with here. • @journeytheoutdoors Not really! Compound are pretty spency, but if you buy a good recurve secondhand, and mod it out yourself, you have a great setup for about 350$! Nice video! -Nax

  • This is awesome journeytheoutdoor excellent work you should build them ghillie suit's and sale them because i would purchase one, And so would my girlfriend.

  • get the fabric from walmart in the hunting section $18. fold in half into 8'' strips and make continuous cuts along fabric 4-5'' deep to make it look like grass (kids do this in art class with construction paper)

then with the uncut side of the strip sew it to some camo pants/shirt or hat that may have faded out and you dont use anymore. waalaaa! takes about 2hours

  • If you have any of those everythings a dollar stores in your area, they sell realistic looking fall colored leaves, you can buy a nice bundle of them for,you guessed it a dollar.I made one suit with them but they only sell the fall colored leaves starting around Halloween, and bought my other commercial G-suit from the Sportsmans Guide for around $70.00.

  • Nice vid Dave

  • thanks humor heals the soul.

    and gets the girls! hahahaha

  • those wasp broadheads are GREAT i got a pass threw on a small buck last year and its still razor sharp and im using them again this year

  • i have my bow on 50 lb. draw(im 13) and i have shot it all week, its pretty easy for me to pull back..and i can hit a 4" circle at 50 yards, but now i am starting to get shoulder pain in my left shoulder..i have let my arm rest for a little bit and its feeling better,do u think i should crank the weight down a couple pounds?i don`t want to cause i might have to make a shot at 50 yards..im scared a 45 lb. bow might lack in penetration and take longer to kill the deer...wat do u think/

  • The problem is not the poundage but you are over doing it with practice, just shoot short sesions and it will be ok also be sure to stretch before you shoot this is detramental to avoiding an injury.

  • kudos my man, he is right! limit yourself to three arrow shoot them, then wait 5mins and shoot again. this is how me and friends pracitice. instead a 4" group your arrow fletching will start to touch. lastly dont hold that bow drawn for more than 15seconds. when the pin gets on the target.... shoot! hunt hard, hunt on.

  • I gotta give you credit for getting out there and practicing those longer shots...that will definitely help you with your accuaracy from all distances. I would be careful taking a shot at an animal from 50 yards with a 50 lbs draw weight. Not that is it impossible, but it seems kinda risky in a live hunting situation with a youth bow. Question....how well does your arrow penetrate your target from 50 yards? Will it penatrate flesh and bone? Good luck hunting!!!!

    -DUDE

  • umm pretty good penetration i guess..i shoot a broad head target(its a cloth bag type thing not a foam block...i use T2 field points..they are pretty sharp..i get 4-6" penetration with them(when i used a 40 lb. draw the arrows bounced off the target at the same distance..and my shoulder is getting better..shot at 50 yards..(12 shots)most were in the target circle(5" in diameter) And i probally won`t take a shot at 50 yards..i mean when buck fever hits ya... :)

  • Thanks for the tips... but man that is a SWEET ass ghillie suit!

If you want to make it up to us for the boat vid :) show us how to make that sweet ass ghillie... the one i made was crap. Unlike you, a woodland/jungle creature, mine made me an elephant in the middle of Manhattan.

You've got the skills and your tutorials are kick ass. So hook it up with a ghillie tutorial! Thanks!!!

  • sounds like a plan man its really simple

lets me work on that. I will start hunting deer this week and the videos will be up.

so look for that too! this going to be a good season!

  • If you really want to impress us, go for a bear.... not to mention it makes a nice rug. Oh and on that note, another idea/something i've been wondering is how to prep the skin so you can use it for a blanket or whatever. Like how the native americans kept the fur soft and used them as blankets. I'm sure you know how to do that. Everyone I know tells me to go to a taxidermist but I'm interested in doing things myself, ya know.

    ...good luck this season!
